Palace Sewers If you found yourself here, good work. This means you probably peered a little too closely into the shadow of the pedestal, only to find out that it was a thinly-illusioned hole. You probably fell in, and found yourself careening straight down a tube that runs through the center of the palace, too slippery to stop yourself, and landing at the bottom of a very smelly sewage pit far below Palace Dome. Luckily for you, the Unity Field extends down here, so the fall didn't hurt you. Unluckily for you, the only way out seems to be back up. It's dark here. If you manage to find a light, you'll see that you're knee-deep in ancient standing water. Bits of broken rubble and stone surround you, with especially large piles against two of the walls. The room is about twenty-by-twenty feet, so there's plenty of pacing room. A portal has been uncovered against one wall. A large explosion has rocked the area and rubble now fills the area. Luckily, though the walls have taken some serious damage, they still support the palace above. The entrances and exits are still intact.

"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
opaj landed face-first in... what was this, raw sewage? No, no raw sewage ever smelled this bad. This was just standing water. Standing water that had been here for centuries.
"Blech..." The Unity Field had kept him alive, wherever he was. He couldn't see a damned thing, and now he was wet.

opaj thought he heard something from up above, but the sound was so distorted it came out as nonsense.
"What?"

A beam of bright light shot down into the underground chamber, hitting opaj head-on. The Unity Field protected him... completely. He didn't even need to adjust to the light, he could just see!
Oh, crap. He could see. Scrambling to his feet, he crawled around in the water.
There was no way out.
"I can't get out!" he called up.

Angel had just landed on her a** in the bottom of the hole, mind you it was really sore. She barely had a chance to move when someone nearly landed on her.
She quickly moved out of the way, scowling. "Couldn't you wait for me to call up?! What the hell, man?" It wasn't hard for her to see the man. The one that was really pissing her off.

Angel wouldn't have been hurt at all, because of the Unity Field. Wet and uncomfortable, sure, but not wet.
With no hesitation, opaj hugged Angel tightly to him. "Thank you! I thought I was going to be alone down here forever! This place really, really stinks!"

Arturo lands with almost no splash at all, his legs locked and in a standing position. It doesn't even look like he fell, but like he was already there.
"It doesn't matter. She's close, and she holds the key to everything." He explores the room, examining the piles of rubble that hugs the walls. "Buried here somewhere....."

opaj took a step back from Angel and looked at the two--trying hard not to look directly at Arturo.
"Um, what happened to your clothes?"
He tilted his head, scrutinizing Arturo further. "Huh... do I know you?"

Right, the whole Unity Field thing would leave Angel unharmed.
Angel nearly tackled opaj to the ground. "I thought you were hurt! Don't ever do that again."
She'd step away when she'd remember she had nothing but skibbies on. She didn't want everyone staring at her, even if they did see her prior, so she'd use opaj as a shield for now and move behind him. "At least you're still clothed. What the hell is going on?"

"Hell if I know," opaj said as the end of the tapestry-rope bonked him on the head. "Ah, there we go. Geez, I'm glad to get out of here. It really... really... stinks."
Tugging on the rope to make sure it was secure, he handed it to Angel. "After you. Thank you so much for saving me."

The end of a makeshift rope would fly down the hole its made of tied together tapestries.

"I'm telling you," Arturos says in a flat tone. "The key to everything that is happening in this city is down here somewhere. But you have to look. I can't do it alone, and if someone doesn't help me, we'll never know what happened here or why."

"It does stink. I thought it was him." Angel would mumble the last part quietly while looking at Arturo.
The rope hit opaj and she grinned. "I didn't do anything but jump in. Uh...how about you two go first?" She really didn't want anyone staring at her nearly naked bottom.
Her hand reached for the tapestries, glancing at Arturo. "He's been going on about his god queen. Hey, mister whatever your name is, you can go up first."
She didn't want to go looking for something the man claimed was there. "Seriously, we want to get out of here, not look for something."

"Not happening," Arturo says. "I'm not leaving until Azhralani is safe."
He closes his eyes and grits his teeth. Pushing something inside down to his inner being. He can't let himself slip now, not when there's a chance someone could recognize him.
"I am from Frostschild," he says. "I know what's going on better than any of you. How can you call me crazy? We're standing in a city that simply vanished one week ago. I've lived here all my life and I've met the God-Queen personally. Perhaps it seems strange to you, but these are things all Frostchildians know, and if you ignore my words, things will only get worse from here."
(okay with that I'm off for the night)

"I'm not leaving you alone down here with him. You first," opaj said simply, positioning himself between Arturo and Angel.
