Snow Fortress Park Considering their location, the people of Frostschild have developed a love of winter sports. Thus outside the warm confines of the city they have set up a park for people of all wealth levels to enjoy. The last major event in the park was a communal snow fortress building contest. Two teams buit two large fortresses at opposite sides of the common, and while the fortresses are surprisingly sturdy they have started to wear down a bit. The second attraction of the park is the rare White Yak preserve. A good deal of open space is reserved for these docile herd animals, most semi-domesticated decedents of the farm beasts used by Frostschild in simpler times. The park is even equip with automatic care systems to ensure the Yaks can survive without constant supervision. Phew!

"eraahhhwn" Bleu yawned as he jumped out of the copter. he wiped the crust out of his eyes and looked around "Ah we are finally here. Brad Come out here!" a boy with short brow hair and brown eyes looking about 14 or 15 walked out or the copter and into the snow "See that wasn't that bad of a flight do me a favor and grab our stuff from the other copter Brad sighed and headed for the other copter

A scruffy old man in a dirty pilot's uniform jumped out from the other helicopter carrying 3 large duffel bags. He tossed one at Brad and chuckled as the boy struggled to maintain balance after catching it.
He turned to Bleu with a wide grin. "So I heard that everybody here disappeared. Crazy stuff, huh?"

"Washrooms? Hell, man, I don't know. Ain't nobody allowed to get to know Frostschild really, 'less you're a Frostschildian. Those darned people hate outsiders. I dunno what the heck you guys would want with this place, anyways..." The old man shoved his hands into his pockets, trying to stifle the shivering cold. "But whatever it is, must be important, right?"
The old man abruptly turned away from Bleu and started off towards one of the melting snow fortresses, motioning for Bleu to follow. "Come over here, nobody will see ye doing yer business over here, at least."

"Good idea" Bleu said as he ran ahead towards the fortress. Once inside the fort he looked for the nearest corner "ohhhh" Bleu said as he was relieving himself "I should have gone before we left" "so are you gonna stay with the copters?" Once finished he walked over to the main entrance and leaned against the doorway facing the old guy.

"Yeah, I gotta stay...as we were approaching, I saw lots of other groups heading towards the city there." The old man looked off to the northeast. "I saw an especially interesting group of characters over that way. Plus there were other folks in the air with us...so it looks like you're not the only person with business here." The old man winked at Bleu. "Better git a move on 'afore they get at whatever it is you're here for 'afore you do, lad."

Afro-sama rolled 1 20-sided dice:
7
Total: 7 (1-20)

"This place is a lot bigger than I thought it'd be," Afro-sama said as he hopped out of the chopper. He took a look around as the engines winded down. Behind him, a blond-haired woman in a dark blue business suit and black tie exited the chopper and came up to stand next to him.
"What do you think, Iris?" he asked.
Iris pulled out a compact device out of her pocket that looked like a Blackberry and began taking some readings.
"Whatever happened to these people, it happened from within, sir," she said a moment later. "I suggest we investigate their homes to see if there may be any clues. But aren't we supposed to be studying the Unity Field?"
"The others can busy themselves with that. We have villagers to rescue!" Afro replied, pumping his fist in the air.
Iris sigh and sagged her shoulders. She knew she should have stayed home for this. Now she was going to get dragged into another "adventure" with her mentor. Maybe she could just analyze the field while they looked for the missing people. It's not like she could fight or anything.
"Try not to get yourself stuck in a tar pit again, sir. Those stains are difficult to get out," she said.
"That's why I've got you here, Iris, in case I need to be pulled out of a jam." He flashed her that irresistible grin that she couldn't help but melt from. Of all the women surrounding his life, she was the one closest to him, and that made her feel special above the rest. Maybe that was why she couldn't keep herself from going with him on these crazy quests.
"Break out the snow gear. Looks like we'll be traveling on foot until we find ourselves a more efficient mode of transportation."

With travel packs on their backs and cold weather clothing on, Afro-sama and Iris made their way northeast, outside of the warmth of the city. Afro didn't seem to mind the chill, but Iris began complaining when a gust of freezing air made her face go numb.

A team of twelve or so robots of various builds and makes rushed in from outside the city. Some were floating, some were bipedal, some had treads. Large, small, and all sorts in between. The only really unifying characteristic was they were all CAT yellow with a few instances caution stripes, and of course decals that identified them as "Alpha through Epsilon" property.
They seemed to be picking up some sort of signal.

The lead robot spoke that aloud in a very Microsoft sam sort of way, before leading the rest of the team towards the Rises.

The robots appeared, and immediately they felt it. A presence. Something they were not, could not be. Two dozen hollow gazes fell upon the helicopters and those who piloted them. Without warning, they charged, and as soon as they appeared they were swarmed about the Institute's means of escape, tearing at and crushing against the metal vehicles, much to the terror of the pilots within.

After the helicopters had been torn apart from the inside and the pilots had been turned into a bloody pulp, the skeletons went back to their business. Some of the smaller ones would shuffle around the fortresses, playing hide and seek, while the larger ones would bend over, run their sharpened talons through the snow, then act as if they were throwing snowballs at each other.
