Fairly self explanatory, I think. Whom do you prefer out of Edison and Tesla?

I think they're both loony
Tesla had an odd obsession with pigeons, and Edison was just a brat.
=P
I suppose I'll have to go the way of tesla though,

What would be of the world... Tesla, his inventions were extraordinary, His inventions of the Alternating current, induction motor, rotating magnetic field, and wireless technology were absolutely brilliant!
... without science?

Tesla. He had a much more endearing "mad scientist" quality about him. Edison's genius was canceled out by the stunts he pulled concerning Tesla's alternating current.

I actually have to say Edison. Not that i think Tesla was bad, its just DC is better for welding. AC is good for aluminum and magnesium, but for all the real metals you want to use DC.

Edison was a failed scientist with a lot of money as far as I'm concerned. Most of his inventions were far from practical. He sabotaged efforts to allow alternating current(which he knew was superior) and in his later years made some of the most useless crap you can imagine. Everything from an electric euthanasia for elephants, dolls that spoke and lost their sound quality in a week, and silly little instruments used as an attempt to talk to the dead. The only thing Edison should really be noted for as a scientist is for hiring and stealing the ideas of some of the best scientists of his time. Plus he swindled Tesla on multiple occasions.

Tesla, good sir.
He was far more brilliant than Edison ever could have been.

Nikola Tesla. Multiple reasons.
He was literally, a Mad Scientist, very very eccentric, with some claims of amazing if impossible machines.
He wasn't dedicated to money, as many scientists are, but dedicated to his craft, proof of which is he died poor, rather than wealthy, he did spend alot of his money on his tastes and what he enjoyed, but he took risks for the sake of his science, which is a deed worthy of respect if nothing else.
We owe alot of our technology based in Magnetism and Electricity, especially things like the AC motor. A very respectable, if unusual scientist.
