Not very much to post about her, except that she's very kind-hearted, a loving mother and mate, fears wolves, is in denial about being a grandmother, and feels guilty about the fact that her second daughter, Neva, came out very sarcastic and cynical and is trying to get herself disowned from the family. Neva has caused Adelle to doubt her ability as a mother, despite her loving family's comments to the contrary. Any failure with Alexiel is the result of interference from Neva. She was born far away in the north and learned how to fly late, as an adult who didn't realize she could fly, from Shihab. She is a great-grandmother, with eight children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, as well as one adopted son. She's my first solo-owned Soquili! She's a naive little optimist, as bright as her name implies in personality, if not intelligence. She's a pretty sweet, naive soul, and that sweet soul with boundless courage and low luck for one so young got Ali into plenty of hot water as she grew up.... She's had negative experiences with her sister Neva and Neva's "boyfriend", a kalona skinwalker named Megapi. As a result, she's terrified of Neva and was nervous and wary around kalonas and skinwalkers, as well as any and all Soquili with kalona and/or skinwalker ancestry. Her mate, Blake, loves her very dearly, despite her naivete and his own personality. They met when they met Neva and Megapi and were running away. Specifically, Ali was talking to Megapi very innocently while Blake was tugging on her tail and telling her to run for it. Over time, Ali has grown brave and strong as a person. She's still not over her fears of Megapi, Neva, and skinwalkers, but she's gotten over her terror of kalonas thanks to Blake's teacher, Viraj, and over her terror of those of kalona ancestry, thanks to the sweet youngest daughter of Neva and Megapi, Branwen. Ali does get jealous of the more unpleasant or snarky mares who try to get close to her Blake, but Blake takes that as an additional minor sign that Ali loves him very much. Being protective of her family and loved ones has made Ali the stronger character she is today, as has the love she shares with Blake.

Esme is as brightly-spirited as anyone on her mother's side of the family, but she's a bit of a trickster inside. Like Ali, she likes nesting on large tree branches, but idiosyncratically, she likes intentionally falling out of tree branches onto any unsuspecting Soquili below her, unless they're smaller than her or meaner than her. She's not that dim or cruel, but being a trickster isn't exactly a personality trait that makes her super-popular. Unlike many of her siblings and cousins, she's actually met her grandmother Adelle, who personally gave her the silver bell hooked around one ear. Surprisingly, family is very important to her. She loves her family very dearly and has been deeply saddened and hurt by the disappearance (kidnapping) of her older sister 'Ailana, and does have a slight protective stance toward her little sister Nerissa. She loves her parents dearly, but she does consider her dad's opinion of Esme dating a little overprotective and suffocating. |

Flann's a brave fighter through and through. She was born in the mountains, and has the accent of one of the pale-faces, some of the red-haired ones. Flann views Usdia as two groups: the Lowlanders and the Highlanders. She's a Highlander who sees not a few Lowlanders who get stuck on mountain trails they're not familiar with at all. Annoys her a little, but Flann will save them anyway. She's just that sort of mare. Recently, she adopted and raised an appaloosa usdia colt named Tsiyu. Even more recently, she found a somewhat bedraggled usdia stallion resembling some of the lynxes in the area, and took care of him. His name is Al Pine, and he's become her mate and her lighter, happy-go-lucky side. Her very latest addition has been the she-goat Una, who's the motherly type and is interested in help raising the foals of Flann and Al.

Parvati is from the East, and has a strong, loving heart. She'll protect those she loves to the very end, and woe to those who try to stop her. You could genuinely trust this loyal soul with your life...provided that she cares about you. She's pretty shy, and can be hard to reach out to, but if you succeed, she's the best friend or mate or kin one could ever hope to have. She thoroughly believes in Hinduism, so can get pretty philosophical. Surprisingly, and worryingly, she takes works like the Kama Sutra seriously. Piously...which is both a relief, and a bit worrying.... Parvati left Poultry after they had children, taking her youngest, Ganesha with him. She may take Ganesha to visit a friend she met in the early winter, before she met Poultry, an alicorn stallion called Richmon, though that is up to her. Recently, she met a flutter stallion named Tsong Tsong, for whom she's fallen for as hard as he's fallen for her.

Ganesha is a very clever colt who loves his mother very dearly. He is the youngest of Parva's first three sons, and the only purebred unicorn of the lot. He not only does not associate with his father, he denies that he even has a father. Ganesha is very protective of his mother, and would definitely be the sort to chase potential dates he considers unworthy away...especially his own father. Ganesha is very interested in hearing songs and stories, anything one can tell him fascinates him. He believes that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and is willing to be impartial...though if he thinks you have a bad attitude, he might try to fix your bad attitude, unless he feels you can't help your nature. He loves beautiful things, songs, and stories, so it is little wonder that when he met the exquisite flutter filly Aerlinniel, possessed of a beautiful singing voice she enjoys releasing in song, Gane fell horn over hooves for her. She has definitely taken some of the rough edges off him, and both love to sing together. |

Redondo is a stranger to these parts, and one of the strangest in these lands...a flying tiger Soquili.... He's a bit of a flirt, though love for Nirmala, whom he calls Butterfly, has settled this tendency down a lot. When he met Nirmala, Nirmala was unimpressed with him, being a somewhat racist Butterfly, and insisted on stabbing him with her knife when he flirted with her. Intrigued by this, he has fallen in love with her, very deeply, to the point where he goes into a jealous sulk when she's around other stallions. What was at first a dysfunctional relationship of him cuddling her and her stabbing him, with him periodically taking her wings in his teeth to dissuade her from attacking him has developed into a situation where she sleeps in his mane at night while he sleeps curled up on a vast branch in his favorite ancient oak tree. So much for her claims that she only likes Flutters. After they have a fling, in his case for some revenge for her breeding with a Flutter stallion who's only using her and in her case because she found an interested Flutter stallion who'll throw her away afterward on the basis that he finds Flutters vastly inferior to kalonas and go back to his kalona mare, Nirmala's going to come back to the only stallion who professed to love her...Redondo. Redondo loves kids, so doesn't want his kids and their mother to suffer from the fact that he bred with their mother out of spite. He'll visit them at least once a week, in compensation of sorts for what he did to them. It has been discovered that Redondo is actually a member of one of the subclans of the Cheshire Clan, a tricky feline clan including such characters as the Cheshire Cat and the Tulgey Cat. One of his ancestors in the clan went wandering away from the council grounds one day and had children outside of the clan proper. Breeding outside the clan accounts for his wind blood, and it is entirely probable that some of Redondo's ancestors came from China. This particular subclan is proud of its feline traits and adopts a rather feline disposition; it's trait is the wind wings, surprisingly. It's just an additional reason the subclan doesn't spend much time around the council; they feel awkward for the subclan trait being bird wings. Redondo's grandmother is the current queen, and while she spoils Redondo for being such a prime example of the subclan, she is thoroughly miffed by his continued and insistent absence from her side. He just finds his grandma a bit overbearing most of the time, which is why he left. Definitely an increasingly enigmatic feline.

Gahz'rilla is a strange one, a WoW hydra demigod with a Russian accent. He's smart, nonverbal (even though he can speak), feral, and the sort to attack first and ask questions later. He's kinda klutzy, surprisingly, klutzy and easy to startle. If a mare or a seathi or a familiar talks back to him, he'll go meek in less than five seconds. Due to an encounter with a friend named Bubbles, he's fallen in love with the world above, and to that end, he took Aeliani, a mutant kelpie mare, as his mate. She had planned on using him to get only the best offspring...but she is falling in love with him. At some point, he will discover that she was originally using him, at the point where she realizes she really does love him. After much chaos and hurt, they will reunite as a loving, happy couple.

Ailbhe is the younger daughter and youngest child of an ONS between the Cheshire stallion Redondo and the mare Emille. She and her two older siblings were raised by their mother with occasional ninja-like visits from their dad out of sight and hearing of their mom. As a result, each of the kids took after their dad in more than looks. Ail got his Cheshire cat nature: frustrating and mysterious, as well as tricky, though her nature is tempered by her mother's sweet personality, making her a more loving kitten than would be expected. Ail has an odd habit: she has a little experiment going of biting things to figure out what they bleed, a little experiment that has been ongoing since she was small. Fortunately, she's mostly grown out of it, and she never bit or bites anyone she loves. The only person to ever make her cry is her mate, Karloff, who had a rough child and a bad habit when they were kids of running away on the belief she couldn't get hurt if he wasn't there. Recently, she and Karl adopted a schizophrenic colt called Lucian, who considers them his parents. |

Megapi started out as just a young, innocent little kalona whose parents were murdered. He vowed to get vengeance on the perpetrator. His vendetta eventually extended to all criminals; he would track down Soquili who did bad things and punish them for it. He eventually settled down with a beautiful palomino mare, whom he loved more than life itself. His perfect world was shattered when she was killed and eaten by mountain lions not long after she got pregnant with his children. Heartbroken, he killed the mountain lions and wandered around the world. Not that he remembers any of this; his wanderings brought him to the Indian Cemetery, where he met a strange twolegger wearing a coyote skin on his back… Now Megapi is a monster, determined to wipe out all life before committing suicide. He has a terrible hunger for flesh and will attack anyone. He likes to think of himself as being cunning, but more often than not, he goes straight for the kill without any forethought or playing with the victim.

In another life, Rasputii was a womanizer who wandered the world seducing mares and breaking their hearts. He enjoyed it—some kalonas (well, okay, to be fair, he’s more like a half-kalona, but he doesn’t like to talk about that wind sire of his, okay?) might like killing or causing pain, but his method got him more satisfaction! He eventually met his equal, however, and…funny thing, he doesn’t exactly remember how it happened, but he sort of…woke up in the Indian Cemetery next to a dead bat with a huge bat pelt on his back. Weird, right? Unlike Megapi, who lost all of his memories under the influence of the corpse powder, Rasputii remembers everything but how that…that mare tricked him into becoming a Skinwalker. The most horrifying thing about his transformation? Rasputii has found that his natural affinity for, um…having babies…has been replaced by an overwhelming desire to kill. He hates what he’s become. An old mare’s tale has it that if a Skinwalker has as many children as possible, they’ll lose the ability. He’s just desperate enough to find out. Do not, do not, whatever you do, let him give you a hickey. He’ll tear your head off. Just because he doesn’t like being a Skinwalker doesn’t mean he won’t act like one. He’s just as cannibalistic and cruel as Megapi (whom he hates and who hates him back). |

Seren is a protective, affectionate bear. Ali found and befriended Seren after her mate Blake strongly suggested she get a familiar to help protect her and any of their children. Since it was unclear what sort he expected her to get, she needed a protector and she had a fear of wolves drilled into her by Megapi, she went looking for a bear. When she returned with the bear at about the time she became preggorz for the first time, Blake was not amused. To this day, he does not approve of Seren, but Seren just quietly ignores Blake and hangs out with Ali whenever Blake isn't around to catch her. Ali has introduced Seren to her daughter Esme, so Esme and Seren do get along fairly well.

Una was taught from an early age to be helpful. This includes caring for travelers, the elderly, and the young...which means she will play nanny goat to any and all children Flann and Al have. Not that she minds. |

Martin d'Hiver is a rather interesting recent import from France. He was born and raised next to a cathedral, so he has...OPINIONS...about living in the New World. Namely, it sucks: the churches are ramshackle at best, there's no choir, there are no stained glass windows, carvings, and other classy decorations on the churches, and it's a primitive backwater of a place. Interestingly, he's not a Christian; he just likes the churches, the art, and the music. He's got a very fine voice that was the reason he had a fan base back home in France composed of country mares. He's heard a lot of songs, sung them all to his adoring fans...but he doesn't chase mares very often. Usually, just enough to try to get them to chase him back, but never more than that. Somewhere along the way, he learned to speak the local language of the Soquili, but he still speaks it with a French accent. Martin's also the impressive, epic type: succeed or fail, whatever he does is done with style and always impressively. He just doesn't talk about his failures. |
