Lavender eyes scanned the various plants around him. Roses, violets, daffodils, lilies, carnations, and many others were in bloom. Spring had struck, and it had struck hard. Birds flew above his head, twittering happily. Naomhan sighed, stretching out his wings as he did. His thoughts traveled past his surroundings, past everyone and everything, until they settled on one person; his mother. It had been forever since he'd seen her, which saddened him quite a bit.
After a moment, he huffed, standing up and shaking his vibrant fur. He couldn't afford to think of things such as that. Shaking his head, he leapt into the air, staying suspended by his wings. He flew up and towards the east, heading to his favorite tree. Hopefully there he'd be able to get his mind off of such sad matters... somehow or another.

Ning skittered through the grass, racing at top speed zagging from flower to flower, being careful to not trample anything. She slipped on a mushy part of the ground and tumbled a little over some flowers. She hopped up, her fur bristled as if spooked b the fall. She saw the flowers and sighed. So much for being careful. Ning morned the flowers a moment before she took off running in a new direction again. She wasn't hurt, so she could still run. She leaped up, stretching her legs out as far as they could go before she needed them under her again. She was enjoying the spring air as she ran so much that she closed her eyes. A fatal mistake. She didn't realize she had changed path a little more then she intended and ran, face first, into a tree.

Naom had no sooner landed than something hit his precious tree. He huffed slightly, jumping down from his branch to land softly before a rather... eccentrically colored kitsu. He tilted his head for a moment, studying the newcomer. It seemed he or she had pollen clinging to his or her fur. That meant he or she had either trampled some vibrant flowers somewhere or that he or she had accidentally stepped on them. He voted for the second option, since he seemed more inclined to give others the benefit of doubt.
"You're not one for being careful, now are you?" He asked, circling the bright kitsu who dared to harm his oak. Honestly, the nerve of some people.

Ning shook out her yellowed bangs before opening her vibrant blue eyes to look at who spoke. "I... I was just enjoying my run so much that I closed my eyes. I didn't hurt you, or the tree did I? I'd feel so bad if I hurt the tree! I already tripped over flowers and... and...!" She seemed like she might cry thinking about the wounded flowers. She sat up, still looking at him. "Whoa! Wait a moment! You're flying! You aren't a little dizzy bird I see when I run into things!"

It took him a moment to fight back a laugh or two, but Naom won the battle. Could she [he figured it was a 'she' from the pitch of her voice] really be serious? Did she really see those birds from the cartoons? Hopefully she was just pulling his leg.
"Ah, uhm... no, I'm not," he said, giving her a curious look. He turned to look at the tree, inspecting it carefully. "No, I don't think you hurt the tree too bad. And you most certainly didn't hurt me," he smiled softly, showing that he meant no harm. "But, I must ask, are you all right?"

"As long as I'm still able to run I'm perfectly fine." She smiled up at him. "I'm just a little dizzy from the impact. This is a very solid tree you have here. So tell me my new winged friend, what is your name? You can call me Ning. You know, like lightNING. Pretty cool, huh?" She blinked a few times, trying to make the world stop spinning so much.

Naom tilted his head, blinking at her a few times. "My name is Naomhan, you may call me Naom, though," he said fluttering his wings for a moment before folding them to his back again. How interesting this female was turning out to be. With a slight chuckle, he smiled over at her, "Tell me, Ning, from where do you hail?"

"I don't hail. Though it would be amusing to make ice bits fall from my tails!" She thought about this a moment. "Naomhan? I can't call ya Han? phooy... Ok, Naom." She stood, testing her balance. "I don't know where I'm from. I just remember running a lot. Running and running. I don't stay somewhere long. What about you?"

Again, Naomhan did his best to bite back a laugh. He considered it rude to laugh at another, especially a lady. Instead, he bowed his head, sweeping a paw up to place it over his chest as he bowed. "I do not know where I'm originally from, much to my dismay," he said, flicking his tails behind him as if he were restless. His ears flicked as well, adding to the image of restlessness. He needed to walk, to run, or to fly.. In a strike of curiosity, he looked at Ning, "Have you ever flown before, Lady Ning?"

"No, I have not. I don't have wings." She said and sneezed, the pollen that was stuck to her fur puffed out like a yellow haze, her fur standing completely on end. "Why do you ask?" She asked, shaking herself to get the rest of the pollen out. "I know! Do you want to race?!" She bounced a little, not bothering to try and tame her fur.

Naomhan tilted his head slightly, amused by how odd her fur looked as it flooffed out. "I hardly think that would be all too fair, what with my being able to fly and all," he murmured, half to himself. After a moment he shrugged, if it would please her, then he'd do it. That was just what he believed. Make others happy before you, yourself can be happy.

Ning squealed a little at Naom. "I like running. If I beat you to the next tree, can you take me flying with you?" She asked, stretching out her paws and slightly digging into the dirt. She was ready. She wanted to run. "What do you say? On your marks... Get set..."

"Looks like I have no choice," Naomhan said, smiling. He dug his claws into the dirt, testing the ground. He wouldn't fly. The conditions of her winning intrigued him, especially since she said she'd never been flying before. He wouldn't put his all into this, he wanted to take her flying with him. He blinked at that realization, but kept smiling nonetheless, and lowered himself closer to the ground. His hind end wagged slightly as he waited for her to say 'go'.

"GO!" She shouted and as soon as the words passed her lips, she took off rather like a lightning bolt- being true to her name. Ning would put all she had into her run. If she didn't, it would be as if she weren't living. She blocked out everything but her goal. 'the tree' was all she would thin about till she reached it. She didn't notice the birds she disturbed on her run, not minded the bugs. It was all about the run. When she reached the tree, she tripped on a root and landed on her back, then looked to see where Naom was. Did she win?
(Wee bit obsessed)

As soon as she'd shouted, Naom had ran. The entire time, he'd stayed exactly one step behind her. His muscles lurched with every step he took with the sheer effort of keeping himself from running full pace. He didn't care; either way he'd have the wind in his fur and feathers, whistling a seductive song in his ears. Once he saw Ning trip, he leapt into the air, spreading his wings to stay airborne. His lavender orbs traveled down to her. "Are you all right?" He asked, thankful that he'd jumped, otherwise they'd be in a very compromising position down there.
