Good grief! It's nearly the next day and this hasn't been started?!

So, what did you think? Insecticide at the ready...

This guild is slower than I remember.

Back in series 3, people would trip over themselves to make threads. neutral

And the thing I was thinking of throughout the entire episode was this:User Image

I liked it rather a lot, actually... take some of the elements of this (the actual murder mystery and the Agatha Christie cameo) and add them to Black Orchid, with the costume ball and the cricket, and you have an incredibly awesome Doctor Who story.

As it was, I wouldn't say this one was incredibly awesome, mostly because it became a little contrived at the end, but for the most part... for an Agatha Christie-style story with aliens, it worked quite well.

Is it a rule that all the companions have to kiss the Doctor at some point or another now? Though I did like that sequence. I like those reminders that the Doctor isn't human.

Also, I maded a thread which no-one has posted in yet. ;_; /shameless

This episode was...dare I say...FANTASTIC?
*lightning crashes*

I kept quoting the movie Clue throughout the entire thing.
"POISONED?!?!?!"
xd

The poisoned charades was HILARIOUS. I wasn't too fond of the DoctorDonna kiss, even if it was to save his life, er, incarnation. I think he would have been equally as shocked if she would have slapped him or something.

I also loved the bit near the end where The Doctor kept pointing at random people, and Donna would go "SO ARE THEY THE MURDERER?"
Donna Noble: Awesome 24/7/365

I also love any Who episode that incorporates actual historical events and adds something as cracktastic as giant wasps to it. 3nodding

I thought it was a pretty funny parody/homage of the murder mystery genre. Lots of funny bits, which I loved. Nice reference to The Unquiet Dead.

The resolution was a bit 'meh'... I don't think it quite works so well when your murderer is a big alien bee. Also, the first scene with Donna and the wasp seemed poorly edited together to me... and scaring away the monster with a magnifying glass was kind of... rolleyes

Overall, I'd give it a somewhat generous 4 out of 5.

I absolutely loved this episode to bits. I was giggling throughout the whole thing and nearly exploded during the detox scene. How they managed to get any footage in which the actors kept a straight face during that blows my mind. Clearly these people are professionals xd

I also knew that the kiss shown in the trailer wouldn't be what it was suggesting and would have some silly excuse behind it. I'd assumed it would be something like, "Quick, make a distraction!" I like what they went with in this. Much more amusing.

I think one of the reasons I loved it so much was that I didn't expect much out of it. I knew it was just going to be a fluff piece, so assumed it would be another throw away episode, but it was absolutely fun and entertaining throughout. It was fluff, but it was good fluff.

I enjoyed it! Although I've totally blanked over the preview - can anyone remind me what's next time? (though not next week :/)

I thought she was going to knee him in the groin, but in the end I didn't mind the tiny bit of Doc/Donna. Though seriously, why does every companion now have to kiss him?? :/ :/

I enjoyed the story. Like someone else said, it was GOOD fluff. smile I mean, in general it's a load of hocum. But it's GOOD hocum, and that's what matters.

I didn't mind the giant wasp, but the purple glowing was like WTF xD

The traditional Steven Moffat scare-factor-2-billion episode! Silence in the Library. Count the shadows...

My favourite episode yet, it was light hearted and nice.
Although I'm biased because I love Agatha Christi and the 1930s
xD

Detox scene = yay
I wonder what they made him eat instead of pickled walnuts and anchovies, they looked pretty reaslistic.
I certainly wouldn't kiss him after eating that lot. She should have slapped him. Although that probably wouldn't shock him, because she's done it qutie a few times now.

I think the Butler should have done it.

Best episode this series. It had everything; great performances from all the actors, great writing and the idea of the episode was really good. My only issue was that Mrs whatserface didn't care that her lover was a giant Wasp, that made my mum and sister laugh... ALOT.

Did who watch DW Confidential afterwards? There were some clips from the filming of that scene, and the whole crew was trying really, really hard not to laugh.

...I think Donna kissing him would have come as much more of a shock than being slapped. Because she slapped him before, didn't she?

I'm an American, which means that I have to use gnomes to magically teleport new episodes to me. Unfortunately the gnomes haven't managed to find the Confidential yet, but they're working on it. I've got the commentary though which I'm saving for a rainy day...or a weekend without Doctor Who or suchlike.

I love that we get Doctor Who first. It's, like, the only thing we get first.

As a whole, I really didn't like this episode. There were a few funny bits, but I was kind of annoyed through the whole thing. The magnifying glass, the Doctor/Donna kiss, the giant bee, the were-bee guy's buzzing when he tried to say "s". The only thing I thought was funny was Donna going, "so s/he's the murderer?" Oh, and I did like that the Doctor repeatedly deferred to Agatha Christy to figure things out and explain them to people. That was cool of him.
