So let's say that RTD has phoned you up out of the blue and said 'I think you're wonderful, and I want you to write me an episode. You can do anything you like, set it anywhere you like, bring back any old characters you like. Make it a one parter, or a two parter, or whatever, I don't care. Just write me something!' Obviously, that would be awesome, but very unlikely to happen. But if it did... what would you write? Personally, I'd either do A LOT of research, and do a straight historical set in Ancient Greece, or do a little less research, and do a pseudo-historical episode set in Delphi (which obviously has a lot of potential for aliens), or hardly any research at all, and do an episode set in the future. I'd bring back the Tractators from Frontios, which I think were very well conceived but very badly executed (can't be helped - the effects left a lot to be desired). I might even set in on Trion... though that would make little sense to anyone who hasn't seen Frontios, so maybe not. ...Anyone?

Wow...how awsome would it be to write an episode? *Drools for several minutes* Anyway, I would probably bring back an old villain to the series. Davros, maybe? Or the original Cybermen (the ones from the classic series, not the ones Lumic created in the parallel universe). I'd like to do a "Genesis of the Cybermen" type story about what sort of people the Cybermen were before they were Cybermen, and what prompted them to become aforementioned monsters. I know they've already probably done this in the form of an audio adventure or novel, but I don't really consider either to be strictly canon (especially when it's not convenient for me when I'm writing fan fiction). Raston Warrior Robots I'd like to see again too. I thought that scene in "The Five Doctors" was soooo awesome...

I think about this a surprising 24 hours a day lol.
Well I think I'd d throw back to the old doctor who series and have the doctor go to another planet. A planet that is technologically advanced but chooses to live in a simple fashion. The planet would be by all appearances a paradise and the people would know of the Time Lords and welcome the Doctor with open arms. He would meet a new companion the Princess of the planet , Siren. FYI the planet was the main influence on roman, Egyptian and Greek myths. Long story short the Doctor almost against his will saves the planet and many of it's corrupt officials. He's rather depressed because the peasants and common folk are still endangered by the rich and powerful. however Siren says she has "a feeling everything will change now that her father is back in power" and as the episode ends and they leave. The screen pans to the palace and the bodies of all the dead officials lay on the floor as Sirens sister's Fury and Galaza look on. Soon the Doctor begins to change the tough almost violent princess into a more docile merciful young lady without his realizing.
I am turning this into an actual script mind you ^_^

Maybe I could convert them all into some kind of Supa-Script... Or not.

I'd do a story set in Antarctica that's based on the Lovecraft story 'At the Mountains of Madness', where the aliens turn out to be the degenerate offspring of Daleks that had been stranded on Earth millions of years ago.
At the end of the story the Doctor would take a penguin back with him and call him Frobisher. He'd be like Pen-Pen from Evangelion.

For example, right now I am working on a story (non- Who related) about the apocalypse. When I pile all my ideas into it, it seems incoherent, but when I leave most of the ideas out, it feels boring. Or I could just make it deliberately unfocused to make a point about the human race...or something...

But unfortunately they seem to be indigenous to Gallifrey, don't they?

I'd write a script where the Doctor tells someone they can come along with him and they don't die. Preferably an alien of some sort that doesn't look completely human...I like the penguin idea. xd Maybe he could find a member of a race whose planet has been destroyed and their people aren't evil, and they partner up. Also, I'd have to write something where the Doctor was accidentally the bad guy. I love plot twists like that.

Well, I don't think it was explicitely mentioned in the episode that they are from Gallifrey. Or was it? Need to see that episode again. Anyway I'd like to see a story involving a group of time-travelling mercenaries who are after the Doctor for some reason (possibly to do with that "dark past" of his they were hinting at before the classic series was cancelled), and have picked up along the way one of those kick-a** robots to do their work for them. (Turns out their leader used to travel back in time to take part in, and change the outcome of, historic battles, and is therefore responsible for the way history turned out.) Sounds like yet another fanfic I'll be writing sometime in the near future.

[shameless plug] I've written two already (working on a third and thinking about a fourth). One I've posted in the fanfic area here. I want opinions on it though...It's a short little thing called "Maybe Next Year." [/shameless plug]

Rassilon being, of course, Gallifreyan.

Richard, can you fill us in any more on this?

Someone once told me "the greatest critic of your writing is yourself" let other people read your work, It's never as bad as it seems. It only seems bad because you have so many ideas and want to use them all. Well you could make like a series, from diffrent perspectives or something.

Sadly... I would probably contact Scholastic and K. A. Applegate to try and see if I could do a crossover with Animorphs. I probably wouldn't use any of the main characters, but I would definitely want to use some of the aliens.
For those of you who've read Animorphs -- imagine the Doctor encountering the Ellimist and/or Crayak. biggrin
