In the middle of a neat and tidy neighborhood, stood a neat and tidy house, with a neat and tidy lawn, with a neat and tidy cat, precariously perched on the porch railing. He was more alert then ever, with good reason. Everyday at 9:30 Am, his owners would give him a loving scratch on the ear and ship off to work. Until later that day, the house was him domain. Except for the live in house keeper, but all she did was love and feed young Burnard, and that’s all he could ask for. Lately, ever since that wrenched Dog had step foot in his house, Burnards owners had been forgetting to give him a scratch on the head before the left for work. But that wasn't the bulk of it, they didn't throw his pricey feather toys around, or feed him his gourmet kitty treats, or even let him sleep in the bed! And what was worst, during the day Burnard had been banished to the front and backyard so he wouldn't, "Intimidate the puppy" his owners had mentioned once or twice.
As his owner strolled towards the car, Burnard thought quickly. He leaped off the railing and bounded to his owner, meowing loudly. The man let out a loud grunt, and swatted the cat away. Before Burnard could protest, he was in his car, driving out of the driveway and speeding off.
"Fine!" He shouted at the car as it's engine sound slowly faded into quiet, suburban sounds.

 Beside the neat and tidy house with its neat and tidy lawn, lied another neat and tidy house with neat and tidy lawn, Though the house next to it had many strange tropical flowers. A small kitten was laying on a bench as it swung back and forth. She was new with a family of all 14 dogs roaming around the house. They treat her like she was a puppy of her own. She smiled as her owned rubbed her before heading off to school for the day. The woman was in college yet a freshmen. Waiting for her friend, she gave one last finally rub and they both left. Her eyes wondered beside her, seeing another cat that looked rather sad.
Chiri titled her head a bit and wiggled herself down from the swinging bench. She makes her way across her lawn and the other cats lawn. Some fur floated over one of her eyes and she wench a bit, bumping into the older cat, she startled her own self and looked up at him. "'Cuse me.. You seem down Sir.." The small kitten said with wide peaceful eyes. "Is somethin' wrong?'

Burnard himself was only a kitten, but seemed to have somehow confused himself with an adult, and was square on living his whole life as an adult. His nana, or his owner’s mate, wasn't very keen on Burnard meeting with other cats, especially cats from around the neighborhood. "Hoodlums!" She had called them as Burnard listened to her frightening tales about how the mutt cat had always picked on her purebred kitten when she was a child. "That’s why Burnard is never living outside!" psshh, so much for that promise.
Mind you, this meant Burnard had never actually met another cat his age. Or another cat at all, aside from his parents and siblings. It was at that moment all the hogwash his nana had been telling him seemed to flutter from his mind as the other cat approached, worry in her innocent eyes. It was at this moment Burnard realized he was still a kitten, and could act like it if he felt the need to.
"Naww. I'm ok, but a pure..." He paused, maybe it wasn't a good idea to reveal he was a purebred, she might think he was some fancy pants cat and start picking on him.
"I'm ok, it's just my owner forgot to give me a scratch g'bye today. I'm Burnard, who're you?"
