Evelyn trotted down the sandy shore next to Lake Helgi. "Thank you for taking me, Wolvane!" She squeaked, as she splashed in the softly lapping water.
Wolvane smiled silently, watching the scarlet-furred little girl get wet. He watched her carefully, making sure she didn't slip in the water, or get hurt. Ever since he first came to know her, a protective side had sprang up inside of him.
