Though I don't personally own it (or will in the near future, I can't afford the hardware), I do own San Andreas. I just find the storm of controversy every time a GTA game or any game that has graphic violence and/or sexual content in it hilarious. A little under a century ago, the motion picture was descried as being the harbinger of society's destruction. Yep, you guessed it, we're still here and civilization is still a-runnin'.
To all the self-righteous pricks calling for GTA IV's banning: Video games are not going to end the world. ******** get over it and find a real cause to rail against.

I agree.
But as to the game itself, I got over the senseless violence and sex when I was 11. I can't stand the games.

I really want it. Even if the game is all about senseless violence and whatnot, I love open-ended worlds in video games and 10 times out of 10 GTA usually has a great story with hilarious dialogue and interesting story.

Agreed, people are just trying to find a scape goat for their lack of parenting skills.

My feelings are pretty much the same as War Starter's. I love the go-anywhere, do-anything sandbox style of the game, and the characters are always great. Though personally, I lust after Oblivion GOTY and The Witcher far more than this title. Can't run 'em... crying

There are rating on the games for reasons. The games doesn't hide the fact that it's graphic. Just don't let your kids rent it, if you feel so strongly about it.

I heard IGN gave it a 10 out of 10 and it has a very good multiplayer setup as well.

The parent that buys GTA for their 12 year old is irresponsible and negligent. And then there's the retailer that doesn't check ID for M-rated games. Both of those are where the fingers should be pointing.

It's pretty good (my roommate has it) though not stunningly amazing or anything.
On a side note, I too agree that people are just looking for an excuse to dodge responsibility when they blame things like video games or movies or music for their actions or, more commonly, the actions of their poorly disciplined children.

I heard that it killed already 10% of the consoles in the netherlands. Because the game is a little to big for the console, in combination with the warm weather rofl

But she knew what it was, and I was mature enough not to try to emulate the violence or do anything stupid. And I've never had a retailer check ID, but I can pass for 18 most of the time...
