It's odd, but I find that people can have connections with music and poetry like that. Whether it be the lyrics, the melody or the beat, you know? I find that I can kinda sympathize with this song pretty well, Plus it sounds awesome, it being from one of my favorite bands. Paid In Full By Sonata ArcticaYes, the singer, Tony Kakko's acting isn't too good in this, and YES, they use Key-tar. And they use it EPICALLY. If you'd like to know why I picked this song, then PM me because I don't quite feel like discussing it completely openly. You understand, right?

Okay, this thread inspired me to look over old CDs.
Songs like NIN's "The Fragile" and "The Big Come Down" work for me, as do most of the songs on the album "Twelve Stops And Home" by The Feeling, and Wir Sind Helden's "Soundso" ^^ Just to name a few.

I really identify with "Machine is Bored With Love" by Add N to (X).
I couldn't find a youtube video with it though.
It doesn't have any lyrics and it's really hard to describe, but I'll try.
It starts out very beautifully, with a loop of a pipe-organ piece and then an overmodulated tune being whistled comes in, and that goes on for a while and it's just amazing, but then the song just gets tired of itself, and slowly starts to disintegrate into analog synth noise and a very bored sounding vocoded voice, and then silence. It's hard to describe, but some of the sounds just "sound like" pure emotion to me.
I can identify because, sometimes I feel like things are going great, and it keeps going nicely for a while and everything is nice, but then it starts to get redundant little by little, and eventually it just falls apart.
I'm not saying my life is always like that, but I can relate to it a lot of the time.

Yez! Here're two verses that match some of my thinking: Now the sound of music Comes in silver pills Engineered to suit you Building cheaper thrills
The music of rebellion Makes you wanna rage But it's made by millionaires Who are nearly twice your age And here's one that totally matches me, and probably most teens: I can't take the staring and the sympathy And I don't like the questions, "How do you feel?" "How's it going in school?" "Do you wanna talk about it?"

Oh man, the video for Okkusenman (110 million) is really heartfelt and really touching. Thankfully I've learned that I don't HAVE to feel like life's passed me by just because I'm an adult now. ^^ I can STILL act as childish as I want, purely because I refuse to abide by many of the 'norms' cruelly and forcefully imposed upon us by society. smile
If I want to dance like an idiot to perky music I shall. if I want to play videogames I will. If I want to watch cartoons, and shows I enjoyed as a kid, I will. ******** the rest of the world. If they don't want to have fun, that's their funeral. ^^
