Username: Rian-chan Name: Imani Why you chose that name: It means Faith in Swahili... and sounds cool Personality: Protective, Loving, Loyal Rank: Sentinel of Brynhild Relationship with Isamu: Sister, they get along well, almost inseperable RP Entry: Imani snarled in aggitation, why was everyone taking so long? Didn't they realize that every moment they wasted talking about what to do was another moment they could be using to go find her brother? She had been sitting in this meeting for hours already as the clan discussed their options in searching for the missing sentinel. Isamu had been missing since sometime last night, it was now well past midday and no one had even been sent to look for him yet. Imani knew something was wrong, Isamu never left without telling her he was going. Her mind made up she rose to her feet near the back of the gathering and headed out on her own to find her missing brother.
Isamu! Isamu where are you?! she called as she ran across their homeland. She'd been calling for nearly two hours and had yet to hear a response. Then it came, in the form of a groan followed by a weak Imani!?. Turning quickly Imani ran towards the source of the noise to find her brother lying in a heap at the bottom of a deep hole with steep sides. Isamu! Are you hurt?! she called, now frantic from worry. He didn't look good, in fact, it looked as though he was bleeding out from a wound in his side... or had been until it clotted up. I... don't know... he replied, his voice barely audible.
Running around the hole in a sort of worried frantic daze Imani finally found a way that looked as though she could make it back up from down in the hole. Isamu can you stand? Can you climb up here? It's not as steep... Imani watched as her brother got to his paws and staggered over to the side of the hole. He took two steps up the side and then collapsed. It was obvious now... his back leg was broken. It wouldn't support him, he wouldn't be able to make it out alone.
Sliding down the rock and mud covered side of the hole she came to a stop beside her brother. Licking and nuzzling him she finally got him back on his feet. Come on Isamu, one step at a time, we'll make it. she encouraged him as she walked, step for step with him, letting him lean against her as they made their way up the somewhat slippery slope. A couple of times they slid back down but Imani would move behind her brother and prevent him from falling anymore.
An hour and a half later, the sun now sinking into the horizon, they emerged from the hole and collapsed onto the ground around it. Calling in the distance alerted Imani to the rest of the clan who had obviously finally got to doing something other than talking. Over here! she called back. As the patrol reached them Imani helped her brother up and they made their way back to their hut. What were you doing in there anyway? she asked and Isamu looked down at his paws sheepishly I was trying to talk to a strange fafner but... she dissapeared and then I fell into the hole while I wasn't paying attention where I was going. Imani laughed now that the worry was past and she knew her brother would be alright she couldn't resist joking with him Do me a favor... next time you take off... don't fall into a hole... he grinned I'll try to remember that.

Username: River of Sand Name: Aza Why you chose that name: It means 'Powerful' in Swahili Personality: She is a lioness, she has power and grace but also a fierce bite. She can be overly protective and stick her nose in other fafner's business but for the most part she is simply kind and caring. (Words for Cert: Independent, Caring.) Rank: Hunter Relationship with Isamu: Isamu is Aza's brother. They care for each other and for their clan mates like lions in a pride. However the two don't always see eye to eye, Aza has her own way of looking at things. RP Entry: Aza snarled and leapt through the trees surrounding her hut. It was located underneath a rock that jutted out from the mountain - a fitting place for a lion fafner. Right now, though, her mind was elsewhere. She was so angry, scared, and worried. Still, it sharpened her senses, and would most likely help her. You see, her brother, Isamu, went on a patrol shift... but he didn't come back. After two whole days, Aza had had it with waiting around, and left to follow him. He is in sooo much trouble when I find him, Aza thought.
With a warning growl in the direction of other fafner around, Aza continued through the trees and ended up in the southern end of Brynhild territory. Slowing her pace she moved, ever gracefully, forward. Raising her nose to the air she caught a tiny scent of her brother, but nothing she could trace. No, what Aza needed now was a fafner with a good nose. Prince Akito. Moving towards his hut she found him fast asleep; it was the middle of the night, after all. She knoecked and waited for him to come to the door.
"Hello?" Akito asked with a yawn, blinking in surprise to find Aza outside his door. "Can I... help you, Aza?" She was said to be one of the best hunters in Brynhild.
Aza smiled lightly but didn't move inside. "I am in need of your scenting skills, Akito." He was older than her but not by too much. "My brother is missing."
Akito blinked again, startled. "Well if you'll just wait for me to leave my family a note I will come. Not for too long though." He eyed her for a moment before going inside to write his note. After he was done, he came back and stepped outside with Aza.
Aza nodded curtly. Then she lead him back to the place where she had scented Isamu and let Akito take charge. Akito put his nose to work, and suddenly they found themselves on the Hreidmar border. Akito bid her farewell and went back to sleep with his family, yawning audibly. Aza didn't blame him; she was getting tired as well.
From here she could scent her mate; his scent was fresh now. Following it she made her want into the Hreidmar Forest and to a small circle with no trees.
"Isamu!" She cried and rushed forward, touching her nose to his affectionately. Although, now that her fears melted away, all that was left was her anger.
Stepping back she fixed her jaw and growled at him angrily. "What is wrong with you?! Disappearing for 2 whole days!" Glacing around, she noticed that another fafner was present, a child.
Raising her eyebrow she addressed the purple Fafner. "Well? Who are you?"
With mocking laughter Sir Bandit raised his eyebrow as well. "Me? I'm the source of all this trouble! My name is Bandit." His tail flicked. "Well, Isamu? Can I go now?"
Isamu shook his head and sighed. "He's been causing trouble with Hreidmar fafner and I am supposed to get to the bottom of it, Aza." He hung his head. "But this little brat will not tell me anything! This is the first time I've heard his name."
Aza frowned but stood her ground. "Well Bandit, you should go home to your parents and I'll send someone else to talk to you. Not my brother, perhaps?" she turned and growled at Isamu again.
Bandit smiled mischievously. "My dad is too busy to care where I am. Besides, I can do whatever I like! You cannot punish a child, now can you?" He shook his head slowly like he was sorry for them and then stood up straight. "See ya!" He pushed off with his back legs and leapt swiftly into the darkness of the forest.
Isamu frowned at his sister. "Thanks Aza, we'll never catch him now." He turned to go home but Aza stopped him.
"Oh no you don't, Mister..."
She stood up and leaned forward like she was about to pounce after the devilish purple child. "Don't think you'll go home unpunished."

Username:x.XNightX.x Name: Hoshi Why you chose that name: It means star in a language in the series of books I quite like reading. Personality: She likes to work alone, but still enjoys some company. She is very competitive and hates being second-best. Shes calm and can keep her head in an emergency. Rank: Hunter Relationship with Isamu: She hates him for being the best at everything. No blood relationship, but they quarrel like brother and sister. RP Entry:The rain dripped down out of the sky and onto the lioness’ nose. She shuddered. Winter rain is never nice and today was one of the coldest days of the year. Definitely not a nice day if you were lost on patrol like Isamu and the other young fafners. In a way, Hoshi was almost glad he wasn’t here. She was always considered the second best in the region and was ignored. Isamu was the best hunter, fighter, tracker, and sentinel; Hoshi despised him for it. She was glad she wasn’t going to be called upon to go and look for him. Almost everyone knew of her hatred for him.
“Hoshi!” called a black and white male fafner. “There’s been some trouble.”
Uh oh, she thought, “Yeah?”
“Zann twisted a paw and can’t go on the search party, so guess what? You’re going!”
“….Isn’t there someone else….?” Hoshi asked hopefully. She knew the answer already. “Okay, I guess I’m going.”
Hoshi sub-consciencely watched him as he trotted back to help Zann. She knew better than to whine about it like some baby, but she still couldn't believe she had to go. She wanted to blame it on Zann but she couldn't, it wasn't his fault he couldn't go. Knowing Zann, he was probably crying because he missed to oppertunity to go on an 'important mission.' She stood and arched her back in a longer than necessary stretch, then walked out of her little cave into the icy rain. It was hard to track in this weather. You couldn’t smell or see anything thanks to the rain and it was so cold her paws were numb. No other animals were out though so if she did catch a glimpse of a pawprint then it would probably be the patrol's. The first part of her search was easy, there is a main track heading towards where they were meant to be patrolling. Once she got to the border however, things got difficult but by then the rain had let up some and she could just catch a trace of Isamu. She followed it and soon found herself at the edge of a rather deep gorge. There were scrabble marks on the edge of it. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. It couldn’t be true, could it? He was the best; he wouldn’t have walked over the edge of the cliff! She hunted around for any sign that they survived the fall but she couldn't see anything thanks to the now heavy rain. She decided to go home since she couldn't do anything more here unless she had help and the rain had soaked her fur straight through to the bone. Hoshi was so absorbed in her thinking the whole way home that she didn’t see Zann limping up to her.
“Hoshi! They’re back!” the young cheetah fafner exclaimed. “Isamu and them are back. You’ll never guess what happened! Apparently they got chased by another patrol and almost fell over the edge of some gorge! Pretty amazing huh?!” He quickly limped away again to join in the celebrating.
She smiled through tears that really shouldn’t be there. She hated Isamu. He made her look like a shadow. Then she realized, what’s life without a little competition?

Username: Emma-chan_Muffin Name: Akira Why you chose that name: Akira means light; light is the 'ruler' of all things. Lions are known as the kings (or in this case queens) of the jungle. Personality: Sensible, Calm, Courageous. Rank: Hunter Relationship with Isamu: Sister RP Entry: Akira sat at the edge of the territory. She shuffled her feet on the dust, sending clouds into the air. She clawed at the ground, anger and worry pulsing through her veins. Why isn't he back yet?! she thought. Her eyes squinted as she looked into the far off land.
Standing, Akira looked nervously around. She felt this was right... yet, felt wrong. She was disobeying her pride. Running off, the wind whispered in her ear, carrying her to Isamu. She blinked as she stopped miles away from her pride. Akira shifted nervously from paw to paw. She stared deeply into the sky, her mind elsewhere.
Closing her eyes, she lowered her head and walked slowly to cool off. Akira noticed a laying figure far off. Feeling hope, she ran towards it, smiling. "I've found you, brother! I've found you!" she whispered happily.
Akira purred in happiness as she came up to the figure. It was Isanu. And he was alive! Asleep, he stirred in his sleep. "Brother!" she whispered urgently. "Hm?" he purred. "Akira?" "Yes! Brother! What happened?"
He thought for a second before he replied. Smiling, he purred, "You know me. I just had to explore!" "Very funny. So, what?" He looked closely at her before he said, "I was chasing of hyenas. They stepped onto our territory." She nodded slowly as she purred. "Brother, come back, will you?" Isanu looked at her deeply and said slowly, "Sister, look for me. I will be back soon."
Akira looked in disbelief. "Brother! We're all worried sick!" He nodded slowly and said, "If mother is worried..." But Akira cut him off. "Of course she is! You're her SON!" "Fine," he said, standing. Shaking dust and dirt off, he smiled to her and said, "Let's go, sister." "Yes, let's!"
Back to the pride, the two were greeted with cried of joy, of anger, and of disbelief. They smiled to eachother and just nodded. Sifting through the small crowd, they went up to their mother.
She greeted them with a purr. They sat beside her as the other lions and lioness' lay back down among the rocks.

Username: Name: Alenthia Why you chose that name: Because the name sounds cool. 8D Personality: Loyal, Kind, Proud Rank: Hunter Relationship with Isamu: Mate, they get along so well anyone could mistake them for siblings. RP Entry: Alenthia paced around her territory quite cross at her mate's dissapearence. He had just left for hunting but she knew something must have happened. It had been three days she hadn't caught a trace of him. When he comes back I'll... She didn't know what to think anymore. Without him the days felt endless. She had to make the choice now. Risk losing him and herself by going to search for him or staying here possibly forever in waiting.
A raindrop fell onto Alenthia's nose and she instantly awoke with a start. She must have fallen asleep last night. But, at least one good thing had come out of this. She had her decision. She would go out in search of her mate. Sure the odds were against her but what was the point of living without the one whom you love most? Slowly she rose to her feet and padded out from under the small tree.
What seemed like days but in reality was only a few hours passed. Alenthia knew she was lost but she carried on. The sun burnt down on her back and she looked around herself. Somehow without knowing she had gone into the desert. There was no way that could be possible though! She thought to herself. Nowing running she desperately searched for water, an oasis. When she stumbled across him.
There Isamu was, on the desert floor with his ribs clearly visible. Alenthia nearly burst with joy when the second problem hit her. What she going to do with him? They were lost and she had no clue where any water could be. Her eyes squinted and she looked around them about five times before she spotted one or two trees in the distance.
With her mouth stuffed with her mate's fur Alenthia ragged them over to the oasis and sat down panting from the effort. She did it. She found him and some water. She drank as much as she could and nudged Isamu. "Wake up Isamu. I found us some water." When he didn't respond Alenthia had a fun plan in her mind. She still had to pay him back for disapearrinf so, she ran over into the water and kicked it towards Isamu.
"Wha? Where am I?" He asked as he was almost drowned by the water.
"In the desert." Alenthia replied still kicking water at him.
"Wha? Why? What are you--" He was cut off as water was kicked into his mouth.
Alenthia giggled and replied, "This is what you get for leaving me you big goofball!"

Username: Ruler of Everything Name: Zuri Why you chose that name: It means beautiful in Swahili. I think that's explaination enough. ;D Personality: Caring, Brave, Loyal Rank: Hunter Relationship with Isamu: Zuri is Isamu's oh-so caring sister. They get along so well that those who do not know they are kin mistake them as mates. Zuri is quick to tell them otherwise, but is proud of her courageous brother, nonetheless. Nothing more than kinship is shared between them. Maybe a few secrets but, other than that, nothing more. RP Entry:
Zuri padded around nervously. She was reckless. Her beloved brother, Isamu had left for his patrol shift and had not returned yet. This was two days ago! Where was he? she wondered, clearly fretting about his absence. Why did he leave? She knew the answer, but she didn't care. Think, Zuri, she thought, he's strong! He's probably doing the best he can to get back to you. Pull yourself together! Zuri sighed. I'm right, aren't I? He's a strong, brave Fafner. He'll be alright. Right?
She shook herself, trying to rid herself of the doubt that filled every empty crevice inside her mind. I'm not worried, she thought, once again trying to reassure herself. No, I'm not worried! This time she was being more sarcastic. Isamu was her kin, and when he left, she was worried enough. But he had never come back, and this was driving Zuri over the edge.
Zuri looked about. No Fafner was paying much attention to her, and if they were, she wasn't aware of it. Instead of seeking help in someone wiser, she took it upon herself to find her brother. Wherever he was, she'd find him. She was sure of it.
One last glance and she was off. She set out in the direction that most patrols left. On her way out her flank brushed up against that of another Fafner. One of the few Harvesters in the clan she belonged to. Immediately the Harvester turned around, which made Zuri stop in her tracks. "Y-yes?" she was afriad that she would be questioned about her untimely leave.
"Zuri, why are you leaving? Surely you're not on a patrol, no one else is with you!"
The Fafner spoke to Zuri with a bit of edge in her voice, but she clearly cared what happened in the clan, so Zuri decided to give her an honest answer.
"Well," Zuri bit her lip, but let everything slip out. She was on the verge of tears as she spilled all the emotion she had been through the past two days.
"Zuri, I'm sure he's fine..." the Harvester trailed off, using her tail to try and comfort Zuri, by wrapping it around her sobbing body. "Follow me, I believe you need some rest. I'm sure everything will be much brighter after some sleep."
All Zuri could do was nod and obey, following the Harvester's orders.
* * *
The next day, Zuri awoke to a surprise. All she could dream about was Isamu, and when she awoke, her sight was also filled with Isamu. But this, this was the real Isamu. "Isamu!" Zuri's heart was flooded with joy as she greeted her brother with clear affection. "Where have you been?"
Isamu stepped back, his eyes full of worry. "Well, we met some trouble, you see..." at the mention of trouble Zuri sat down and awaited a long story. He didn't look to well, and his flank wasn't as shiny as it had been before her left. What he had to say must be pertinent. If he said there was trouble, something was wrong.

After much judging, based on three different categories (spelling/grammar, eloquence, and ability to RP a Fafner within the set rules), as well as taking into account who got luckier during this event (but not as much =P), a winner has been chosen.
River of Sand, please go and fill out a form in the Naming/certing thread for your new Fafner ^^
