I'm sure he means church buildings...with different people.
Personally I am a Christian that attends a Southern Baptist church. All Christians are apart of the church, we just might have different personalities and fit in with different people, so we go to different buildings.

I grew up in a Baptist church, and that is what I consider myself denomination-wise. Currently, I am attending North Point Community Church, though, and I am just blown away. Andy Stanley is an incredible preacher.

Seventh Day Adventist, conscious decision at age 19. It doesn't matter what you grew up as, you have to make the affirming decision yourself.

I am a baptist I guess. But I like to consider myself non-denominational. I currently attend a baptist church. When I return to college, it'll probably be something else.

non-denominational...
something I've noticed is that the moment you give a name to something is the moment someone can say oh, I hate those people... and thats not what Christianity is about... In that respect I think denominations are Satan's way of splitting up the church... divide and conquer, so to speak... As long as you have Jesus as your personal savior, and believe the bible is the absolute truth, you're good to go... other than that it doesnt matter if you sit to praise Him, stand, dance, or wave your arms about like a crazy person!

Assemblies of God, which is partly Pentecostal. It's one of the younger denominations out there.
To KaimanaKenshin: xd Ironic if the person claims that they're a Christian that they say they hate someone of another Christian denomination. With that in mind, it contradicts scripture if they say that they hate someone. If a person does dance or wave their arms about like a crazy person, just make sure they don't hit anyone. sweatdrop Stuff like that does happen a lot. Thank goodness they don't cause permanent injuries, just a slight painful feeling for a moment. confused

This is just my opinion, but too many people in our brain-dead culture don't know the difference between a behavior and a person. I mean, we as Christians are supposed to love sinners and hate sin ... and that's fine, I'm not speaking against that. But a lot of people don't apply the same basic concept to anything else. They may hate, oh, for example, homosexuality (which the Bible speaks against) and use that to justify hating homosexuals -- and, of course, the opposite is true. Going with the same example, homosexuals may look at certain Bible passages and interpret these teachings to mean we hate them.
Or, going back to the denominational bit ... I've visited an AoG church; I enjoyed it. Meadow (my wife) visited the same church, and hated it ... but she doesn't hate the people. She just hates what she views as the chaos and the preacher's long-windedness (which is funny, since Meadow was raised Southern Baptist xp ).
As for denominations being created by Satan ... again, this is just my opinion ... but I tend to think that's one of those things that are "created" by God and Satan working ... um, "together" doesn't sound right, but you get the idea. That is, it's good for the body of Christ to know which parts are the hands and which parts are the feet, but the discrimination involved is something Satan likes to manipulate. Jesus Himself warned us about that one, true? Whether it be Satan abusing the division God created, or God using the division Satan created, it's still them playing off each other.

I suppose you could be correct DB... God can use what satan meant for evil for good, and vice versa... I suppose it just bothers me that people can call themselves christians, and yet at the same time be able to turn around and judge other christians based on what their subset or section of christianity does differently...
