Starpelt padded out of the medicine cat's den. Today was the day of her assesment and she had to be confident in herself to succeed. Excitement welled up inside of her. Today was the day all her trining would pay off. The day she would become a full fledged medicine cat. Where was Larksparrow though? Could she be in the den still?

"Ready?" Larksparrow purred as she trotted over from the fresh kill pile after snacking on a plump jay.
"I've only heard wonderful things about your skills and efforts while you were traveling with the patrol to find Windclan, but now I get to see them as well. Before we start I'd like you to assemble some traveling herbs, it's all you'll be eating for the day."
Larksparrow's eyes twinkled. She still remembered when she had been an apprentice and Thistletail and the other medicine cats challenged themselves to find formulas that would use more common herbs. The bitter taste had been in her mouth for days!
"If you end up hungry this evening your performance in other skills might not be as strong as they usually would be, so be careful."

Starpelt eagerly bounded back towards the den. In moments she came back out with the herbs in the mouth she dropped them by Larksparrow's paws and asked, "Are these the right herbs" She had sniffed them twice to make sure she had done it right. With Larksparrow's approvemant they would either be succesful or wrong.

"I'm not going to tell you. You'll find out depending on if you get hungry during the rest of your assessment, now won't you?" Larksparrow laughed. "Eat up."
Smiling enigmatically, Larksparrow waited for Starpelt to finish. Inwardly though, the she cat was quite proud. Her apprentice had chosen well. The herbs were strong enough to hold her for the day without being wasteful.
"Once your done, we'll be going on a walk. We're not going to look for any herbs in particular, but if you see anything you point it out and tell me its use. I'll be noting anything you miss. "

Starpelt nodded and ate the herbs. They had a foul taste, but she had to eat it to stay strong for their walk. "I'm done." Starpelt announced as she finished the last herb with a gulp.
So, they weren't searching for anything in particular just going herb spotting. This was definitely something Starpelt knew that she could handle.

Larksparrow led the way out of camp, twitching her tail to signal her apprentice to follow. They would head to Fourtrees eventually, but they'd take a meandering path there to hopefully find a wider variety of herbs.

Starpelt walked behind Larksparrow keeping her eyes alert. So far there weren't any herbs in sight then she took a glance a small broken tree trunk inside were plenty of cobwebs. "There's cobwebs right there." She mewed pointing with her tail at the tree trunk.

"Very good. How often do you change cobwebs on a patient, and how do you know when it's alright to leave them off?"
