User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Even though he was, technically, a half-Nobody, and lived with his emotions for most of the time, there were times that the Berserker could get very confused with them. Growing up wasn't exactly easy; Yuffie had embarrassed him by bringing up the subject of girlfriends, and also his powers had awoken.

It took quite a struggle to manage himself after it had happened. He had been confused, angry (at himself), guilty (towards his mother, his family, his friends) and also gratified at those who had stuck by him during this time.

Still, all those conflicting emotions that whirled in his mind while trying to control his berserkerness was, well...confusing. Perhaps it was because as a kid, he had been quite innocent, and didn't really experience something so shocking before. It had been so new to him, he figured it was possibly because he was part Nobody, with no pulse, and emotions, especially many at a time, was strange.

Even after he had managed to control being a Berserker, it had still happened. He was happy of course (and had hugged Aroha until she spluttered and choked), bounding to his family and telling them the good news. But while he did, something nagged at his mind.

He needed to see someone.

And so, he was here, wandering about in the Mountain. Anddddddd. Where...did she live again? He bit his lip. Damn.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Technically Orta lived at the Place, which was between Realm and Mountain. Generally she was up on the Mountain though, since the weather had started warming somewhat, though she rarely strayed very far from the paths to keep from getting lost. She had a good memory, but not so good that she'd risk getting turned around in the woods for hours or days because she didn't make the proper preparations for such a task. The one time she'd really gone out like that had been that trip she'd bumped into Xanul; and it had taken her far longer to find her way back during that horribly frigid weather than she'd ever have wanted. She wasn't going to make that mistake again.

Today, though, she wasn't really wandering around. She was on the main path to the Mountain HQ, just a bit out of sight of the cabin, staring with wide-eyed wonder at the budding trees and sprouting grass. Most of her world had been a barren, desert like waste, and the few areas that still had any real plantlife to speak of were in tropic climates and were green and living year-round. "Spring" was not something she'd ever experienced, or even heard of, before.

He sighed, taking a glance around the Mountain, frowning slightly. If she wasn't here, there was a chance she could be in the Realm right? He could probably pop by grandpa's place and ask if he knew where exactly Orta lived. Chewing on his lip in thought, he waved a paw absent-mindedly to open a portal, then stopped, as his golden eyes caught a red and black scarf fluttering in the distance.

It took him a while to register, but when it did, a grin spread over his face and he had to fight it for a moment. Going up to her and grinning like a silly dork would be weird, wouldn't it? He bounded up to her, his grin rather small and hesitant now. "Orta?"

Orta was staring in fascination at a bit of grass that was sprouting up out of the soil. She'd placed her paws on either side of it in a manner that suggested, at least sub-consciously, that she might have been worried it would try to run away. Though honestly... something like that wouldn't have been unheard of where she came from, so maybe the thought really had crossed her mind.

She quite literally jumped straight to her feet when Xanul spoke, fight-or-flight instinct kicking in before conscious recognition of the source of the disturbance. She returned his grin with a small smile, a rather sheepish one in light of her reaction. Both the one he saw and the one he didn't; her initial thought upon recognizing Xanul had been to hug him, but... well even if she was allowed, since they were friends, she didn't really know how to give a hug...

"Xanul!" she said instead, trying to pack all of her pleasure at seeing him again into the word and hoping she didn't fail miserably. Had he actually sought her out? She couldn't imagine him coming near either of the HQ buildings otherwise... but... perhaps that meant?... "Are... are things better now?" Her expression was somewhat hopeful, and her delicate tails twitched a bit at the tips as though they were tempted to wag.

He laughed as she jumped, shocked at his sudden outburst. She hadn't seen him, and had seemed to be focusing on something else...but he didn't want to ask about it.

That silly, goofy grin of his lit up his face again as she posed the question. "Very much." He assured her, wagging his tails. He was so happy that he couldn't even fight it back, and just let it remain plastered on his face. "It's all fine already! And my siblings are bigger now." There was a hint of pride in his voice and brotherly love sparkling in his eyes. It was obvious he cared a lot for them. "And as if that wasn't enough, they're the new eggs." He grinned sheepishly. "No one seems to believe they like whacking me."

Her smile turned a bit more sheepish at his laughter. "I just... the plants. They are... little. Plants were not common... back in the other world. The ones that were there usually tried to eat you, too."

She fidgeted slightly, making her chain jingle, until the smile broke out on Xanul's face. She couldn't help smiling back at that point, a real, full-fledged smile. Far different from her usual small, tentative ones. Her tails wagged as well, nodding about his siblings since she'd heard about them, at least. She hadn't seen them... she liked the people at the Place and Trel's and all, but she just couldn't get used to the crowds. She mentally tripped a bit over the "eggs" part, though, wagging momentarily stalled by hesitation. "Eggs? Who had eggs?" Then again, "They whack you? Can they do that? I did not think eggs moved..."

She didn't disbelieve him. After everything she'd been through, nothing seemed entirely impossible. It just seemed peculiar. It also struck her as peculiar that she had a bit of a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach at the thought that the eggs Xanul had mentioned might be his own. She didn't really think they were... but that was beside the point. She should have been happy for him at the thought, right or wrong, shouldn't she?

"I see." He smiled at her, his eyes drifting to the plant for a moment before flicking back to look at her. "Wait...eat you?" He grimaced. She must have a pretty hard life back then...He felt somewhat sorry for her. But at least, her life was better now here.

He blinked slightly, then laughed. "They aren't mine!" He somehow found the thought of him being a father quite amusing. "They roll a lot." He grimaced. "Thing is, they keep acting innocent in front of mom. And dad. It's kinda funny from the start, but it gets old after a while. Xelon should really keep his kids under control."

Better now? Really... it was. There was nothing in that other world that really held much value for her aside from the dragon and her friend Mobo. She missed them... but it wasn't so bad when Xanul was around.

Orta gave a small sheepish grin at Xanul's amused insistence that they were not his own. Even if she hadn't really worded it that way it seemed he'd picked up on the true nature of the queery.

"Sounds like they will be a bunch of fighters and trouble makers, then." She smiled faintly once more. "Perhaps if I can catch them in the act the others will be more willing to believe you and help?"

He smiled at her faintly, his expression falling slightly. "I wouldn't be a good father, anyway." Truth was, he was worried that his powers might pass down to his kids, if he ever had any. And he knew Ayako already had a lot on her mind, with the full moon reaching and his siblings' reaction to it.

"It's not really their fault, I guess." He sighed, using a paw to scuffle around absent-mindedly on the floor. "I mean...they were born under...weird circumstances. And their mom...well..." He trailed off oddly, with a slight frown. Ironic that Xelon was born from an unexpected pregnancy, and he himself caused one.

"Well, I am their uncle." He tilted his head slightly with a shrug. "I do have some of the responsibility to take care of them." Darn his brother with entrusting him with an egg that liked to bump into him. And there was another that was doing it as well...

Orta's ears went back slightly at Xanul's comment about not being a good father. Though perhaps after his recent difficulty she could understand... or hope she understood. "I think you would do well raising the kits... If you ever felt you could." She smiled again, a bit apologetically. Whether for his situation... or for for vocalizing it she wasn't sure.

Then she snorted and grinned a bit at the end. "Yes, you are their uncle, and it is good for you to help. But the rest of the family should also help you if you are having difficulties with the kits. Even if no one else ever sees the evidence, I would hope they know you well enough by how to realize you are not trying to shirk responsibility or some such..." Her grin faded and she sighed. "Well... I believe you. And I am not sure how much help I could be, but if you need... back up? I will try to help."

He blushed at her comment, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. "Well, it isn't raising them that bothers me. It's just that... I don't want anyone else to go through the same thing as I did." He paused, looking slightly upset. "Two Berserkers are enough."

"We'll see how it goes." He laughed. If only he knew that Ayako was, in fact, aware of her grand children's antics, but simply chose to feign ignorance. Besides, he somehow felt responsible for this; he had always been encouraging Xelon to find a mate. "Thank you." He grinned. At least someone believed him. "So, how have you been?"

Orta raised a paw to rest delicately on Xanul's shoulder after he mentioned his heritage. It was a bit hesitant; she was still rather akward about feelings herself. Not that she'd ever been incapable of them, but most of her remembered life she'd been alone, locked in a room. She had made acquaintances, and her very few friends... but she was far more used to the idea of enemy than friend. She was... still learning how to react to people. And when and how to attempt comfort.

For the moment she left her paw where it was as she thought over the answer to his question. "Well enough. I think some of the others would rather I did not spend so much time on my own but..." She made something that wasn't quite a grimace and gave a rather non-commital shrug. "I just feel akward around so many people, all the time. Even if they have all been very kind. I am growing more accustomed to it, bit by bit, but they are... overwhelming, sometimes?"

Her expression grew slightly sheepish, and rather wistful. "I also keep hoping that perhaps... I might discover one of my friends has appeared up here like I did." She finally drew her paw away and used it to fiddle at the dirt with a slight sigh. "I miss them. It is better when you are here, but I still miss them."

Something in his stomach seemed to leap as she touched him. It was a very strange feeling, one he had been trying to figure out. Was he happy she was getting used to here, and learning how to show comfort to others? He assumed it was so. He was her friend after all, and friends cared for each other. There were many he could cheerfully name as friends, but the ones he treated as true friends were Aroha and Orta. He smiled at her, ruffling her silver hair gently with a paw, glad that she was there for him.

"I guess it's still hard to adjust to a new life and a new body." He said thoughtfully. He had never experienced it before, and Saix had preferred not to talk about his previous life at all. The only person that complained about it to him was Josh. "It takes time, I guess."

"Well, I have a friend, of sorts, that was from a past life too. He doesn't say it, but I can see that he misses his friends." That, and Fluffy had confided silently to him about Josh grumbling about wanting to see his team mates again. The unusual feeling came again as she said it was better when he was here, swirling weirdly within him. Coping with these new feelings...without a heart was strange indeed.

Orta felt a very light and bright sort of feeling bloom up inside at Xanul's smile and affectionate hair ruffling. Mobo had done such things every once in a while, and it had also made her happy, but this was different somehow. There were many feelings she got from new or uncommon situations that puzzled her however, so rather than try to explain it away she simply chose not to let it effect her. Her tails decided to wag ever so gently at the small joyful feeling, however, and she blinked down at them.

"Yes... some getting used to. I do not mind the new body, or the new world. All I really miss is my friends." A pause, and she added, "And sometimes my thumbs." She grew thoughtful and was quiet for a moment. "From the way Kitsyn speaks... and Caim sometimes acts, because he can not speak, I believe that perhaps mine is a more unusual case. Kitsyn seems to know of many worlds, but there were very few she could think of that were as bad as mine." She sighed again and curled her tails around her paws. "Even in spite of missing my friends so, I do not think I would ever be able to want to go back there."

She trailed off for a moment, unsure of what else to speak of. Though she was honestly a bit curious about his family. "How is your family? Your mother? Your younger siblings are grown, and your brother has chilred on the way... but how are they?" Her brow furrowed slightly in a thoughtful way. "I do not think I have met any of them... I saw your mother, at that party, but that was long ago and I did not really speak with her." She looked at Xanul for a moment. "I think I would like to ammend that..."

If Orta had voiced her thoughts, the male would still assume that it was the account that they were good friends that they were both having these strange feelings. Yes, Xanul knew his mother loved Saix, and he understood love somewhat, but he had never experienced it, never thought he would fall in love. The way he had blushed while Yuffie talked to him about girlfriends was proof enough.

Ah yes, thumbs. Josh was still getting used to the lack of them, and often had to fiddle with his paws for a while before he could hold things properly. It was a complaint he had heard many times. "Being in a better world is a good thing." He said gently. He would never understand it; never gone through the experience himself, so all he could do was try to put himself in her shoes. If he was seperated from his friends and family, he would be quite at a loss as to what to do.

"They're quite fine. What happened during the full moon is worrying everyone at the moment though." He himself was worried, and even though Ayako put up a strong front, he could sometimes see the flash of worry in her eyes. He tilted his head towards Orta. "You want to meet mom?"
