((Okie... lame title... deal with it xD ))

Things had been lonely of late, or at least that was what a peacock thought. Rather than linger in the cabin in the mountains and mope, Sebastian figured it would do him some good to find some beautiful flowers. His daughter always appreciated such splendid beauty, but that was because he raised her properly. Or at least he thought such in his delusional mind.

Certainly he couldn't let on that he was indeed feeling lonely. Oh no, such a proud bird as himself could never do such! Instead, he'd hold his head up high and somewhat put on a show. It wouldn't be as lovely a show as dear Satine could put up, but he wasn't trying to impress anyone with song or dance. He was just trying to maintain that relatively big ego of his.

Afterall, he was the most splendid, the most GORGEOUS of all the angelics. Well, almost all the angelics. There was still that special someone who was tied with him, and his own children who were tied for second place. Had he actually known about his grandchildren and gotten over the fact he was now officially considered "old," they probably would have been tied for third place.

Glancing at an orange blossom with his wine-red eyes, he couldn't help but think of someone precious to him. More precious than his own beauty. Rather than grieve aloud, all he did was sigh slightly before plucking the flower from the ground for his daughter.

User ImageThe loneliness Sebastian felt was most definitely shared by his soul mate, his other half who had to unexpectedly leave much to her dismay. Most of the summer, all of the fall, and most of the winter had been spent away. And during that time she had been a gloomy mess of sadness, but had begun to perk up when she learned she was going home. And now here she was: home!

Despite her mood before she still retains that beautiful glossy sheen to her rainbow fur and feathers; her coat still glimmers and light bounces off it. Her feathers and fur is all just as healthy as the day she was born. Not even a bad mood (or a sad one) could make it anything less. In the ending days of winter she was becoming thinner once more (hey you get chubby during the cold season!) and looking forward to the warmth of spring and days of summer.

It'd be by luck that she just so happens to be outside that day, that she just so happens to find Sebastian after spending a good long time searching for him to no avail. Her heart raced at the sight of him, brightening immediately and chasing after him. She felt that familiar playful youth in her that begged her to stalk him, to hunt him, and eventually pounce him; she gave in. With slightly clumsy stealth she makes her way after him, keeping a good distance so he would not hear her as she approaches. Closer and closer... as he bends over to pluck up the flower she attacks! Forward she dives, slamming her paws into his back side, sending them both tumbling and almost into a tree. Her arms wrap around her mate as best they can, closing her eyes as she nuzzles him, her body exuberating a great amount of heat as she hugs him.

"Sebastian...!" her voice is a loving croon of happiness as she nuzzles the egotistical dork, whimpering as she looks at him.

Being the egotistical dork he was, he most certainly didn't here the familiar sounds of plants crunching beneath his mate's paws. Nor did he expect the sudden attack. And even still, he was extremely surprised and almost flabbergasted that he of all beautiful birds, had been pounced like some common-place toy.

Yet the shock faded and soon enough turned into pleasant joy. With the orange flower in his mouth, he smiled and carefully returned the nuzzles. After all, he didn't want to ruin something which had reminded him of the one he was now cuddling. Wanting to joke a little bit (even though he would most likely fail miserably at such), he scolded Phoenix as if she had never been away.

"Phoenix! What do you think you are doing, pouncing me like that? You are getting my fur dirty, and now I will most likely have stains from the plants beneath us!!!" He even attempted to puff up slightly.

Yet, he couldn't do that to his mate. He missed her too much. Deflating rather quickly, he then leaned in and offered a simple "...here..." He'd let the blossom brush gently against her pale yellow fur upon her cheek. "...it's for you..."

User ImageThe young female Kitsusagi nestles comfortably against her mate, tucking her head down against his chest where the sound of his heart can feel her ears. She whimpers, sounding pitiful now as she feels the guilt wash over her as she rests there against him, feeling his heat and his soft, elegant, and well kept fur pillowing her. She was happy to see him but naturally wanted to cry for being away so long, and without much word.

She sniffles slightly, moving a forearm up to rub her nose and lifting her head slightly to look up at him with watery eyes. She wasn't going to let him stand up try as he might; she was content to lay there with him on the cool grass (surprisingly much cooler against her body because of the heat), and she hoped he is too.

"I'm sorry Sebastian," she murmurs sounding truthfully apologetic for this but it's not enough to make her want to let him stand. "I just missed you so much. Did you miss?" she asks quietly, hopefully. Then she blinks as he tilts his head down to offer her the flower and she delicately takes it from his mouth with her own, nuzzling against him and closing her eyes. "Oh Sebastian, that's so sweet. You didn't even know when I was coming back.. How did you know to get it just now?"

The peacock didn't struggle in the slightest. Instead, he seemed to just become more relaxed as he was held captive against his will (sort of). He smiled slightly and leaned his head forward enough to nuzzle the fiery angelic. With a slight chuckle, he offered a simple "I missed you everyday. Every moment. Even just looking at our daughter, I couldn't help but think of you."

He attempted to lift his paws up and over his mates back to hug her closer, yet he wanted to be careful enough to not harm her new present. Though in reality, the flower had originally been for Hush, he didn't think he had to explain that part of it. All he felt was necessary was a simple "It reminded me of you."

User ImagePhoenix sniffles loudly at his declaration. He had never said anything so sweet to her before. In all honesty she had expected him to shun her, to ridicule her, and to even make fun of her; to pick up old arguments as a joke as well. He had done that, haphazardly, but that she knew was a joke; anything else might have seriously offended her.

Before he could see she buries her face, as well as the flower, into his chest again, not seeming to think of what sort of state the flower could end up being in because of her desire to hide her tears. Tears of happiness, mostly, but still shame. Her long tails wrap around his as she shifts just slightly in an attempt to get closer but she was as close as she was going to get it.

"Where's Hush, Sebastian?" she murmurs against his chest, breathing in the scent of him and still refusing to let him see her wet eyes and cheeks. "Is she okay?"

Ears perking up slightly, he glanced down to his chest. It had been a bit hard to make out, but he got the gist of the question.

"She's probably off playing with a friend or something like that. She tends to visit this Mountain more than me! She's still as quiet as can be though. Such a shame for such a beautiful creature to be missing such a crucial thing for communication!!"

Oh, woe was him!!! For a few seconds, he forgot about "the moment" and sunk into his usual mindset of beauty being the #1 priority.

User ImageSniff, sniff, sniff. What was that smell? It smelled familiar. The mentioned daughter had not been too far off and caught onto the scent of her mother rather quickly. It had been a long time, but such a scent could never escape anyone's memories. With three wagging tails, Hush began to trot on over to her parents.
