Ah yes. The dreaded time of the month, which Ayako, and most of her family hated, and often wished would never come.

However futile was that thought, deep down inside, she hoped so, but she knew the truth, that it would always come. Now however, she abandoned her thought and smiled at her five kids...now teens and much bigger. And much more worrying. She knitted her brows, trying not to sigh, while looking outside the window from the side of her turquoise eyes. Soon. Very soon.

It was a time, however, Axis was waiting for.

Her parents, and older siblings had been rather iffy about the subject of the moon for some reason, and the half-Nobody was curious about this. Not only her, but her other siblings as well. And Xanny had hinted they would find out what it was during the full moon. Curling up besides her brother, she batted at the small pendant hanging from his neck absent-mindedly.

This dreaded time of the month would soon become one of the young male's favourite times.

Very much like his sister, Xerviree knew nothing about the subject of the full moon. He simply knew that the moon was 'glowby' (though he'd never really gone out to see it, as it was very dark at night dispite the glow of the moon and the stars. He also happened to know that it was a subject of which his family didn't seem to talk much about, there must be something about it. He hoped that if there was, it wasn't something scary.

He blinked his warm brown eyes, smiling at his black coated sister as she played with his pendant. He was so proud of the little mini-claymore dangling down from his neck. It was just like daddy's and the red gem was just like the gem that mommy wore. Oh he loved his collar.

Being bigger also ment that he no longer had much trouble with carrying his flashlight. It was still rather heavy, but it was no longer too big for him. He still had his fears (especially of the dark) and it did not seem like they'd be going anywhere soon. The male would have loved to be rid of his fears as he got larger, but such thing clearly weren't going to happen. Getting older was simply bringing about more fears, though none would ever be as deadly as the dark.

He floped over onto his sister's head, his tails curled up around his flashlight; which like always was on.

Yawning silently, Xara gave a little stretch of her body, before padding towards her sister and brother. Though the little Kitsusagi was tired, it was her eagerness that kept her awake. Whenever she asked - or to be more specific, had someone ask for her - about the full moon, she was never given a clear response.

She'd finally find out for herself tonight, though. What could it have been, that their family had been keeping hush-hush about?

Tail's swaying back and forth, she seated herself beside her siblings, her ears pricked with anticipation and nervousness. If she could talk, Xara probably would have been voicing her excitement, fears, and ideas to her siblings. Since she was a mute however, she could only sit there and wait quietly. Still, the little Kitsu seemed to radiate her excitement just through her facial expressions.

---

Sitting farther from his family, and in a dark area where he could not be seen, Saix peered out at the children silently. Though he would not admit it, he was a little - a little - concerned over the new kits. After seeing the effects the full moon had on Xanul...

Well, it was a good idea for them to be catious, that was for sure.

Nyx bounced towards where her sisters and brother were. Nyx wore a small smile that night; face filled with fear and uncertainty. What was going to happen? She didn't know. How was she going to face it? She didn't know. Would it be so great that it might break her no-larger-than-average self? She didn't know! A great many questions clouded her mind, nyx shuffled on the spot silently.

She took in a deep breath ; the cool night air fulling her lungs. She tried to make herself look bigger and taller in size so she could overcome her fear of whatever the moon was about the bring, but sadly failed. She bounced with her creamy tails following to where Xara was and sat down.

Her wide eyes looking up to the sky. The stars were almost all out. She rested her head against Xara looking for comfort.

Full moon huh? Carefully cleaning one of her paws Lia kept a careful watch over Xara. All of the older members of her family seemed worried about this night, and thus she felt she should worry too and that meant watching over her sister even more than usual. Even though she was sure Mama would protect all of them if something happened, she would feel responsible if something happened yo Xara.

A soft frown crossed Lia's face, she could feel the excitement radiating off her siblings. Couldn't they feel the worry that the adults were emitting? Sitting almost perfectly still only Lia's tails curled and uncurled in nervous movement and her eyes shifted back and forth between the window and Xara.

Whatever was going to happen was going to happen very soon. She knew that much.

Yes, Axis could also feel the tension around the room and how nervous the adults were. Casting a worried glance at her pacing mother, she turned back to her siblings, trying to keep a calm exterior but was betrayed by the knitting of her eyebrows.

Still, she giggled as Xerviree flopped over her head, brushing a red strand of hair out of her eyes. Her head lifted up slightly to peer at her other siblings, careful not to raise it too high, in case Xerviree would fall. What would happen, would happen. It was their destiny. There was no use worrying about it now. She'd just have to see how it turned out.

Saix could not been seen, however, he could be sensed. The mother of ther kits padded over to him silently and sat down beside the Nobody, almost trembling in fear. It was much more nerve wracking the second round, knowing that something would indeed happen. Another glance towards the window revealed the darkening of the sky and the moon became to glow softly. It was going to happen.

Offering a smile - both excited and fearful - towards her siblings. Nudging Lia with her head, she turned her green eyes towards her sister. What did Lia think was going to happen, she wondered? Mother certainly seemed nervous, pacing around like that.

Wanting to see how much longer it'd take until the full moon came out, Xara padded towards the window, jumping up and hanging onto the windowsill by her front paws. From there, she proceeded to try climbing up, scrabbling at the wall with her hind legs. Unable to climb up, she let out a soundless whimper before trying to look out of the window from where she was hanging.

It wasn't very easy, to say the least, and she couldn't see far past the sill before her paws started to slip. Stubbornly, the little kit tried to pull herself up again. Suddenly, she managed to catch sight of a round orb glowing in the sky.

"The moon!" She said suddenly, her voice soft. Her tails gave a little wag before she suddenly froze, her eyes widening a little. Slipping off the windowsill, the white kit rose a paw to her throat. Did she just...speak?

"I...I can talk?" Her voice was quiet, and it was obvious that Xara was unused to it, but her eyes gleamed happily.. She was glad that - even if only during a full moon - she would be able to speak.

---

Saix watched the kits quietly, before turning to look at Ayako as she moved towards him. Noting her expression, he emitted a soft sigh. "Relax. I'm sure nothing bad will happen." Or at least, he hoped so. His golden eyes focused on the sky as the clouds drifted away, revealing the full moon. Despite his own words to Ayako, he could feel himself tense up as he looked expectantly towards the kits.

He arched a brow when one of the little girls - the mute one - spoke. Ah, so that was one of the effects the full moon had on one of his children. What of the others?

Blonde hair droped down infront of Xerviree's eyes, making his head seem like part of a mop. Their mother seemed to really be worrying now, as the moon was drawing ever nearer. Currently hidden chocolate eyes watched his siblings, or rather sisters from beneath his locks of hair.

The young male wiggled atop Axis' head as she lifted it slightly. He grined still not bothering to fix his hair. "Axis~" he wiggled himself enough to place a forepaw upon her forehead. "What are you doing?" And when was the 'moob' going to come out? It certainly hadn't yet, since no one was really saying anything. It was like waiting around for someone to yell 'surprise' at. Except a lot better, since jumping out at people and yelling surprise was rather startling and could be very scary.

At Xara's outburst, the male rolled off of Axis, blinking as he lifted a gloved paw to push his hair out of his face. Xara couldn't talk, that was how it always had been. She'd never been able to, but now for some reason it had sounded like she had. His gaze shifted to the window. He didn't get it.

Had the moon done that?

It was magical perhaps. But if that was the case, why had everything been kept so hush hush about it. If it was the moon making Xara speak then it wasn't something bad. Was that all it did however? He didn't feel any different. At least not yet. "The moob...is magic?"

Xerviree took a few steps towards the window, looking from the moon to his not so mute sister. It had to have been the moon, he really didn't see any other way how she could have suddenly started talking. And for some reason he felt. He felt...

Pulling his flashlight up on his lap he fliped it off. He wasn't sure why, he had never turned it off before. The only time it had ever been off was when the batteries died, after which he would dart under a lamp and cry until someone changed the batteries for him. And now? Now he had found himself turning it off willingly and giving it a push, watching as it rolled across the room.

Nyx eyes opened wide. She turned her head to her sister Xara. Tears started to well up inside her eyes, big blogs trickled down her face, " Did.. Did you just talk xara?" She said uncertainly. Not waiting for an answer she stood up and shook herself, tails wagging along smoothly. The moon had made her sister talk! The moon was great! She smiled, sniffling a bit and made her way to the window. The red footed her slowly walked across the floor, admiring the reflection the wonderous moon gave off from the floor.

Nyx had not seen the moon itself yet. Just its reflection. Now was her time to see what was going to happen. She sat down and positioned herself with teary eyes closed to face the window. She tilted her head up, wand and brown hair falling gently to her back. She opened her green eyes.

There it was, the glowing circular thing floating in the sky. It was so enchanting too! Nyx didn't question it, it HAD to be this enchantment that had let her sister talk again. Then right there, red footed her felt odd. The red parts at the bottom of her feet felt warm... then cold... Then numb.

Nyx panicked, " Mommy~! What happening to my feet?! I cant stand! Mommy! mommy! " Nyx started wailing now in fustration. Her front paws didn't work, So did her hind legs. She tried turning her head, that worked ; but the fustration and panicking still stayed.

Had the moon done this to her? Had this enchantment have two sides? Nyx didn't know for sure.

What the-?! Lia's head turned quickly sideways at the sound of her sister's voice. That had not what she had been expecting, it had seemed like something bad was coming. Lia getting her voice was a good thing not a bad thing. Lia started forward to congratulate her sister and be closer to her when she heard Nyx's cry. Her head whipped around sideways and she stared in horror at her sister. This had to be one of the bad things that was going to happen. It only made sense.

Feeling Nyx's extreme alarm Lia darted forward intent on helping her sister in some way. There had to be something that she could do to help fix this. While she had been most worried about Xara, Lia also felt strongly the need to protect her other siblings. "Nyx? What's wrong?"

In heading towards her sister Lia stepped into the moonlight for the first time. Well. That... was... interesting. Her whole body felt as if it was tingling. Something new was flowing through her. It kind of tickled. Lia squirmed and couldn't help giggling, Nyx leaving her mind for the moment. "It tickles"

A frown crossed Lia's face as the tingles got stronger, they weren't quite so fun anymore. In fact they were quite uncomfortable. "Owie." Lia wiggled uncomfortably. The pressure was increasing and increasing... and then all of a sudden it was gone.

Lia blinked, that had been odd. What a strange thing to happen, it didn't make sense. She glanced around curiously, and then froze, there was a huge swirling black circle in front of her and it was pulling at her. Her front paws scrambled on the floor. "Mama? Daddy? Xara!?"

Nothing bad would happen. His words echoed in her head, and she leaned on him gently. She did hope it would be true. Jerking up as she heard a soft voice, she looked somewhat confused for a moment. It was so familiar, yet she had never heard it before. "...Xara?" A small smile appeared and she padded over to nuzzle her daughter softly.

The little kit giggled, grinning as she heard Xara talk! Talk! Her brown tails waggled slightly, and she watched her brother walk towards the window...and...and...what was he doing? Just when he flipped it off, everything seemed to go dark before her very eyes. "Viree!" She squeaked, flailing wildly. "Why did'ya turn out all the lights?" She liked the dark, yes, but it was weird. Why would Xerviree do that? "Dadda? Momma?" She got up and began to stumble about, eyes wide open, but she had no idea where she was going, and bumped into Saix's leg.

"Nyx? Axis?" Ayako looked up from Xara, eyes wide as she watched her daughter scream, but not moving at all. The other, however, seemed to be...almost...blind. And now, Xexilia?

"Lia!" The mother gasped, bounding towards her and pulling her daughter back from the portal. "When did portals do that?!" She yelled back at Saix, panicked.

Xara's little face had lit up, her tails wagging happily as she nuzzled her mother back. The glee on her face was evident as she glanced around at her siblings. She'd be able to talk to them now! Only for a bit, but still, it was better than being mute forever, right?

Her glee turned to surprise, however, where Xerviree turned off his flashlight. Her brother was always carrying that around, and usually had it on. Why was he turning it off? "Xerviree?" She echoed Axis, looking slightly puzzled.

Her emotions were changing rapidly now. While she was happy at first, it had turned to confusion, and now fear. She watched her three other sisters - one who seemed unable to move, another that wandered about as if blind, and the other one...

"Lia!" She yelped trying to hurry forward to aid her sister as the portal attempted to suck her in. SBefore she could, she felt a paw cuff her gently, and a male voice tell her to stay clear out of the portal's path. Looking up, she gazed into the eyes of her father. Though his face was calm, her eyes seemed troubled as he looked at his kits - especially three of his daughters.

Feeling someone bump into his legs, he looked down at Axis, a frown spreading over his muzzle. "Axis, sit down where you are, and take a deep breath. You can't see anything?" Pausing, he looked towards Ayako, hoping that she had the situation under control with Lia. "They usually don't do that - that's much more like a black hole, if you ask me. Regardless, don't let her get sucked into it! Xerviree, come here. Stay out of the path of the portal."

While her parents were busy there, Xara had bound off to her other sister, her ears laid back as a soft whimper as she seat herself beside Nyx, her eyes concerned. "It's okay Nyx, it's okay!" She said, trying to reassure her sister - and herself.

It seemed as though chaos was breaking out in the room. The moon seemed to be having rather different results with his siblings, though he wasn't too sure what exactly it was causing him to do, or be. First one sister was talking and then one couldn't move. "Nyx..." he spoke, flipping his ears up. "You need to calm down." It was all rather confusing, and there wasn't much time before the next reaction happened.

Chocolate eyes watched almost blankly as another one of his sisters entered the moonlight, soon a large portal swirling in the room. It was rather pretty, and oddly enough he didn't feel afraid of it.

Why had he shut off his flashlight? "It doesn't make sense to have it on." he spoke in response to Axis and Xara, where these words were coming from he didn't know. All he knew was that they came. "It's bribght enough and there isn't anything wrong with the dark." he hadn't realized that his red haired sister's sight had vanished. At least not until she had began stumbling about. "Axis?" he blinked, watching as she bumped into their father's leg.

Things were very weird.

The blonde kit turned to look at his fater. "But why?" he questioned, taking a few steps, but not exactly out of the swirling portal's path. He wondered what it did, almost wanting to walk up to it and touch it. And now there was no fear within him to hold him back.

Nyx whimpered in extreme fright. Her legs were numb and unmovable, she took in a deep shuddering breath. Its not like her legs haven't been numb before, she just had to straighten them out and lie down... Except that now she couldn't. Her panicky state had been reduced to curiousity over what was happening through viree's couragous voice. This was definately something new, though oddly Nyx's tears still kept flowing.

" I.. I'll try.. To.. To calm down.." Mumbled Nyx forcing a small smile to her facial features to Viree and Xara. It was nice to know they were concerned. But what of Axis?! Nyx watched her sister carefully, her eyes seemed to be the wrong color. Did her eyesight improve? " Axis..?!" She wanted to call out but apparently she was wrong to be happy. Axis got the negative impact like her and lost her sight. Unknowingly she trembled forcibly, tears coming out in big blobs, the floor under her wet.

Nyx looked to Lia and prayed good things would happen. But apparently Nyx was wrong, Lia giggled and giggled. And a black hole appeared. A few metres away from Nyx and Xara. It could be good that she couldn't move so she could observe this strange happening carefully but, if it grew larger...

Nyx system went on red alert. " Xara! Mommy! Daddy! Does that THING Grow?!" She asked hurridly, she tried to get up and move but numb were her legs. She pushed and pushed and finally, only her tails twitched. Things were not looking bright at all...

Under her mother's protection Lia felt secured and she began to study the, hole again. Mama and Daddy had called it a portal, didn't that mean that it went somewhere? She was more curious than afraid now it didn't hurt anymore and the pull wasn't quite as strong. Squirming a bit she managed to escape from under her mother's paw and ventured closer to the portal so that she could examine it better.

She couldn't see anything but black from here. Curious she circled around to the other side, still black. If it went somewhere why couldn't she see where it went. Frowning slightly she poked at it with a paw. It was like poking some sort of gel, it sucked her in a little but she could still pull her paw back out.

"Hmph." So far she was unimpressed with this "portal" thing. It wasn't interesting colors, you couldn't see through it or feel anything in it. As far as she could tell all it did was sit there and do nothing.

Her tails swished slightly as she head tilted in though, she was so concerned with studding the portal that she wasn't really paying attention to what was going on around her. Well, there was only one thing really left to try, leaning forward she began to attempt to peer through it, only, not paying attention to her surroundings as she was, she somehow managed to bump Viree.

Off balance she stumbled forward and into the portal, which promptly disappeared.
