Bah. How could anyone think the sun was beautiful? Blushshadow, who had occupied himself all this time, had come down to this one thought. The sun was a giant yellow ball in the sky. It's rays could blind any cat who stared at it, and all it did was warm the territories up. So why was it so important? He didn't know. The sun was just one annoying thing on this planet. The green tom blinked his eyes and stared down at the dirt.
Maybe he could kill himself. Blushshadow had come to this decision many times. He didn't know how he would do it, but either way he would find a way.
His idea, as he had repeated it to himself many times, was to ask for herbs. Herbs that he might be able to... Oh how could you say it, overdose on. When he did he would kill himself, and go to Starclan. Or wherever suicidal cats went.
Standing up from the place he had mapped his idea out Blushshadow padded into camp. His head was down, with his ears flicked back. Sighing sadly the tom headed for the Medicine Cats's Den. He hoped he didn't run into that overly-loyal Larksparrow. She was the one that would stop him, or not give him the herbs.

Starpelt's ears perked as she heard the sound of an approaching cat. She looked up and saw Blushshadow at the entrance of her den. Realizing that he was looking for a medicine cat's help Starpelt approached him slowly. "What do you need?" She purred. It was such a great day, but that wasn't what made her happy right now. What was it? Could she possibly have feelings for the green tom in front of her? There was no way. She gave up on love when she chose to become a medicine cat apprentice. But, these feelings could not leave her mind.

Blushshadow blinked solemnly at the black she-cat in front of him. Oh Starclan. Which herbs was he going to ask for. This was one thing he had failed in thinking of. Which herbs? Gulping lightly and facing Starpelt again he calmly glanced over at the herbs. Two scents he knew well filled his nostrils. "Twilightmoon asked if he could have Yarrow and Thyme. He didn't tell me why, but just told me the herbs and sent me down here."

Starpelt's pelt bristled, What does he take me for? A fool? She relaxed her pelt slightly and mewed, "Two things. Thyme and Yarrow correspond with eachother in a bad way. Second. Twilightmoon is out hunting. I just saw him walk out of camp. So tell me, what's your true reason for being here?" Starpelt wasn't going to hand over some herbs to a cat with no purpose with them.

Blushshadow stared at her dully. The same depressed look formed on his face, and his voice sounded more down, "What else would a sad, depressed cat like myself want it for?" He asked quietly. He knew she wouldn't give them to him now. He had failed. Swinging around with a sigh he took three steps away from her. "To end this idiotic life!" Blushshadow yowled loudly.

Starpelt looked at him with a dazed expression for a few seconds. How in the world could she comfort him? She wouldn't let him die. At least not unless she told him her true feelings. Starpelt followed after him slowly. I'm useless! She thought to herslef. A true medicine cat would know what to say and do. "What's made you feel this way?" She asked sheepishly. It was all she had.

"Everything." He meowed back to her. Simply the only reason he wanted to end this miserable life. Lashing his tail to where it would touch his paws he looked back at Starpelt. "Everyone thinks I'm useless. Everyone thinks I'm strange, and everyone thinks I'm darker than them." He hissed to himself, wishing he had not said that. Mouse-brained depressions.

What could she say? She couldn't reveal her true feelings to him. It just wouldn't work... "Not everyone thinks you're useless or strange." Her eyes glistened for a moment with depression and sadness. There was no way she could tell ny cat about her feelings for this green tom. "You're not dark either, others have no right to judge you for what you aren't."

He blinked and sat down, realizing that he might be saying everything wrong. Blushshadow felt something inside of him that just told him to quit, run, go. He knew too; she loved him, and he loved her. "Well, that doesn't change facts from fiction. I still..." The green tom immediately stopped. He was remembering memories from his apprentice-hood, how when Starpelt was an aprentice he and her had always played together.

Starpelt looked back at him understanding in her gaze. She wasn't tlking the truth. She had often heard others talking about Blushshadow in rude ways when she was an apprentice. No one accepted him for the kind cat he was. They forced the kindness to go away. It wasn't fair. Why couldn't medicine cats love other cats. Starpelt knew it would be painful to see Blushshadow fall for another she-cat. "The truth is... I love you." She murmured quietly in his ear.

Blushshadow recoiled away from her as fast as she had said it. No. No, no, no, no, no! It was forbidden, he could not love a Medicine Cat! If he did, he would be breaking the Warrior Code, like she would... They would be shunned. "Ten, nine, eight, and I'm breaking away." He whispered, only audiable for her to here. Deep down, he did love her. "And I can't hide my true feelings..."

((I don't get the whole "Ten nine eight" part. O.o wink )
Starpelt looked at him with sadness in her eyes. How would this work? How could she have chosen this road to disrespect it? She couldn't love him but her heart told her too. Would she follow the Warrior Code or her heart? Maybe he doesn't love me. Yeah, that would make things better wouldn't it?

((From a song I was listening too. XD ))
His blue gazed rested on her's. He saw the sadness that emenated from him, and as he stared at that sadness, a part of his heart could almost be heard cracking, breaking.... "Stop thinking, whatever you are thinking..." It seemed like he had actually read her thoughts, read the sadness that had caused it.
