The easiest place to survive in an undead world would be the Florida keys. When you get there, blow the five mile bridge, get to the military base, and assume control. All gas would be for military purpose though.

Zombies can't swim, but they don't need to breathe either. Even if you hold up in Key West Zombies would Frogman you in no time. The best bet would be a mountain base. You'd have a great sniping view and if worst comes to worst, you have a great aerial escape back-up plan. biggrin

Yeah, but sharks live in the water and they go crazy if they sense any blood. It might be good to have paranas around to0 though, but I'm not that lucky.

If you could get enough supplies and a watercourse, A cliff (not ocean cliff more like desert) side base would be the best. Zombies cant climb, and bandits cant reach you. Other than the occasional scouting for survivors (not even needed) you could probably last FOREVER!

If you can get there why wouldn't bandits be able to reach you?

You'd have a great sniping view and if worst comes to worst, you have a great aerial escape back-up plan. biggrin yeah but you could set up those automatic targeting guns every 500 feet. problem is- if one got in, infected another, then another... try infection squared- there would be nowhere to escape. you'd pretty much be screwed. but lets face it- its funner on the other side.

What I was thinking is that you have a removable way of getting there. (Rope ladder, Rope pulley elevator system.) although if the bandits realy cared the much they could probably find a Helicopter or plane, which would not be good at all.

I think the best place would be a cliff in the desert. Of course zombies wont feel the fatigue of the hot desert but their bodies would have to pay some kind of toll. Then since there is basically nothing out there nothing can really sneak up on you. Water and food might be the only problem though. Which is a rather large problem to be honest.

Another problem with the desert is that very few people are used to living in a place that's so warm during the day and so cold at night. Even people who live in the desert now have heating and live in houses. If you're staying at this spot for an extended period of time it would be very hard.

The best place to secure would be a tall building with elevators and and enclosed stairwell. Weld the stairwell doors on the first floor up, destroy/block off the stairs from the first floor all the way up to the third. bring the elevator up to the forth floor before the power shuts off. attach a rope to the bottom of the elevator. pry the doors to the elevator open on floors one and three. there you go, completely secure. use the rope to get up to the third floor and use the stairs to get any where from the third floor up.
