Ever since I first saw Dark Super Sonic on Sonic X I loved this super-powered evil version of Sonic. I recently saw Darkspine Sonic on Sonic and the Secret Rings and thought he was cool... but basically he was the same thing as Dark Super Sonic. So it had me wondering why they didn't just have him transform into Dark Super Sonic. In my opinion, out of the two I like Dark Super Sonic better, (I like regular Sonic the best), but out of these two which do you prefer and why?

Not trying to be snooty. Just voicing my opinion. But I like neither of them. I don't care for these "dark, moody, evil, and Godly mutations" of Sonic and friends. I much rather prefer a modestly mortal character as a good guy. Some powers are okey-dokey, but I much rather that they be ultimately mortal. I like the idea that my hero is normal, in the idea that he CAN die, that he CAN be killed. I find this also allows for the original good guy to grow old and weak, to make way for their next generation of off-spring to take over in their place; Just one of many reasons I enjoyed the second installment of Mobius: 25 Years Later in the Archie Sonic comics; Sonic ended up becoming an aged and out-of-shape vagabond, while the younger Tails, and even younger Lara-Su, fought in his stead.

Hm, well, Darkspine Sonic does look cool, but other than seeing that pic of him, I really don't know what he can do. ^^;
And I'm not sure if that "Dark" Sonic counts as a Super form (but man, he is scary when pissed off!).

I dunno; I'm fine with good ol' Super Sonic now, despite his limitations to final boss battles these days. Though it is nice to have a new powered-up form every now and then.

Both of them for the win. While one (Darkspine) is good, and looks awesome one is ultimately evil (Dark) but man can he kick some arse!!! I love how in Brawl you can make Sonic look like Dark Sonic (well, he wears black shoes and armbands, his fur gets a bit darker)

Hmm. I don't have a real opinion yet on Darkspine Sonic. I'm not that far into Secret of the Rings. I mean, I'm at Pirate Storm and I have to lay off for a while because of school. sweatdrop

I haven't watched that episode of Sonic X per se, but I have seen a clip of when Sonic became Dark Super Sonic on YouTube. I have to admit, I actually liked seeing that wicked side of Sonic. surprised

So I'm leaning more toward Dark Super Sonic until I can see Darkspine Sonic for myself.

I think the reason why they didn't use the Dark Super Sonic idea in Secret of the Rings is because they might've wanted to keep aspects of the anime separate from the games. Different continuities; why should one be inserted into the other?

Oh ya, I like Sonic the best of course. This is just out of the two which do you prefer, that's all, and it's fine if you don't like either. 3nodding

i don't think Dark sonic was super at all. i think he just got an, what should i call it? anger power boost? i like darkspine better cuz sonic still does the right thing. (he just used negative emotions to do it). Dark sonic, on the other hand, is when he goes a little psycho cuz he's mad. he does seem to think as straight. ( blaugh even eggman scolded him for his behavoir rofl )
