The egg cracked, spilling out the pidge inside. The egg had been trapped under a low lying bush for weeks now, having rolled away from the nest and never been missed. Luckily the bush insulated the egg enough to keep it warm by trapping the suns heat during the day. The nest that the egg had rolled away from belonged to a very scatter-brained pidge, who had decided that she didn't want to risk her eggs falling out of a tree and so had built her home on the ground in a park. She never noticed the missing egg. However, due to her being a total ditz, she forgot she had eggs at one point, leaving the others to get too cold one night, by the time she remembered about them, it was too late and life was no longer stirring in them. Something in her told her this and she left them from there on in, never to return. The grey fluffy chick found himself surrounded by green and red. He knew he was hungry so tried the green stuff first before retching and spiting away the bitter flavor. The red proved more tasty and the bush had plenty of them for the hungry chick. Something inside told the chick to look out at the bright sunshine so his head popped out from under his cover. A simple playground of a few swings and a slide greeted his vision along with a signpost. "KEEP OFF THE GRASS" The first word had be tagged over so often that he couldn't make it out but he liked the way the others looked. He decided that this would be his name, "Off the Grass" He took the time to sun himself on the grass, before the sun began to set and he tucked himself back under his bush, ate his fill of the red berries and slept.
