User Image A black portal appeared in front of a waterfall. A head poked out of the portal, looked around to see if there were others around. Finding on one around Dragoon stepped out of the portal heading for the water and the portal closing behind her. Walking into the water and heading for the waterfall, when half under it does she sit down and let the water pound her back, soothing her nerves as she washes herself.

Mind wandering as he cleaned her self as she though of what had happened several weeks ago. A meeting that part of her wasn’t ready for, but it happened anyway and there was nothing that she could do about it. Her mind had been pulled in two different directions one wanting to serve and the other wanting to do as she pleased. At first she had wandered trying to gain control over herself, but finding this place had given her a peace of mind were her freewill had gained control, but the other just lurked under the surface of her mind. At first she wanted to talk to her friends but thought against it as she didn’t want them to see the other side of her as she was ashamed of it. So she had gone back to wandering trying to find herself.

Now that she was clean she walked over to a sun bathed rock to perch on to dry her fur and wings. Still deep in thought, but one ear open just incase other came her way.

((Fix his name in the title? XD))
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Dachrun hadn't realized how far he'd wandered from his usual haunts until he spotted the waterfall. Where the heck was he, anyway? Not that it really mattered, in the end. If even he had no idea where he'd wandered off to then hopefully his little brother wouldn't be able to find him, either. Not that the Luck didn't love his little brother; but the problem was just that Damerion was little. Would always be little, by some bizarre trick of their father's random Luck genetics. Quite frankly he was tired of babysitting all the time. He wanted some friends he could go out and do things with... to hunt or have a mature conversation or if to play a game then to play something that he really found fun... not the little watered down childrens games Damerion often chose. Sigh.

He rolled up on the sand near the water and got down from his ball, compulsively brushing the damp sand off of it and then scowling slightly when the fine layer of dirt it had picked up during his travel turned into a fine swirl of mud. He dipped his curly tail into the water and used it to try and wash the grime off... thinking in the back of his mind that he'd just have to do it again later. But cleaning his ball really was compulsive behavior for him, and theraputic at the moment in any case.

His thoughts continued to drift. For the moment he hadn't yet spotted Dragoon; he was too preoccupied. In a way he almost missed the duties he'd had back home, as a prince; the duties that kept him too occupied to fret over such silly things, the friends he'd always seemed to have at court. Back then spending time with Damerion had been a treat, a break. Now? Sigh, again. But those friends had slowly left his side after the usurper took over, and eventually he'd followed Damerion here to where he'd been hidden. And if the few communications he recieved here and there were any indication, that obscure little kingdom had slowly broken apart and now vanished all together. Parts of it quite literally.

Ball about as clean as it was going to get for the moment, Dachrun finally lifted his head and looked around. When his eyes found Dragoon, suprise made him yelp and jump slightly, which cause his paws to slip in the wet sand. He slid part way into the cold mountain water, thoroughly soaking his back half even as his front paws desperately remained near his ball to keep it from rolling around. If he let go it might get dirty again... worse, it might roll into the water and get chipped on something, not to mention it would be a pain to get it back out. Gah.

Finally he climbed back out of the water, staring at Dragoon rather rudely and really trying not to. It wasn't as if he hadn't seen other kitsusagi equally as strange looking. Or perhaps that was why he was staring, because he couldn't quite figure out who or what she reminded him of? Aside from a dragon... but dragons were only evil in storybooks. Off the pages they were no more good or evil than anyone else who made the choice to be one or the other. "A-ah... my apologies, I didn't mean to barge in." It was the best he could manage until he got himself composed again.

Dragoon had heard the other come, she had panicked a little as she didn't know who. But as she saw him and relaxed a some as ne wasn't a nobody. She stayed where she was and watched, he was a different type of Kitsu that she had seen and larger than herself. Dragoon wondering why he was cleaning his ball, but then she thought she would have done the same thing with her lance when it got dirty and also wondered why he hadn't seen her.

But that was quickly answered when the Luck has finaly spotted her, his yep has started her a little but more of suprize and she watched him fall into the water but was frozen in the spot trying to fingure out what she was going to do. Part of her just wanted to get away but some of her wanted find out some information about the other, one being he looks simmilar to the others that she had met, but with the ball and being larger she wondered.

Sitting up were she could see the other as she knew that he was staring but so was she and she knew that she looked different and so she wasn't offended. "Its ok, I was just doing a little sunbathing. I don't mean to be rude but what type of Kitsu are you?" she asked as she flaped her wings to get the rest of the water off and now she was being rude now that she didn't introduce herself. "By the way I'm Dragoon," She offered to the other.

Dachrun took a deep breath to steady himself inside and out and carefully made his way a little farther up the bank and away from the water. Brr, but that damp fur was cold when the wind blew through it. Checking the distance between himself and the other he politely took a few more steps away from Dragoon before shaking himself and then padded back. Not particularly close, but not so far that conversation required raised voices or seemed rude.

"Sunbathing?" He glanced at his curly furred tails, now spikey and unkempt looking after his unceremonious dip in the water. He'd have to groom that after they dried or it would get all tangled and matted... mrr. "That sounds rather pleasant."

Her question made him tilt his head with a slight smile. "Not rude, really. Luck kitsu like myself only first started moving in around here this past summer. I don't doubt there's quite a few that don't really know us all that well yet." He settled his ball between his four paws as he sat. "Though I must say... I don't know what you are, either. You're rather unique to my experience."

At her offered introduction he picked up one of his large paws and put to his chest before bowing slightly. "I am Dachrun." He most certainly was not going to be so rude as to deny someone knowledge of his name when the same was offered to him freely.

The sun had moved just a little since she had chosen the rock she was currnetly on, so she moved to the next one over that had the full sun on it but still at a polite distance from the Luck. "Its is and I don't mind the company eather," as she was curouis about him.

She listen to what he said and it made sence to her. "Ah, well I just resently just came to this place, so I haven't met too many others." she replied and thinking on what she could say about his next question, "Well I'm a Nobody. More speficly a Dragoon Nobody," she answered then contuned as he wouldn't know what a Nobody would be. "A Nobody had no heart and there for no emotions or at least that is what they are in the other worlds, but here I still don't have a heart but I have emotions of a sort. I think it would have to do I think with the magic here."

"Its nice to meet you, Dachrun," She gave him head bow as she was currently laying down.

Dachrun peered over his shoulder at his wet rump with something between a grin and a grimace. "Well, if you're sure you don't mind the company..." He carefully rolled his ball over to another rock that was baking in the sun and still within conversation distance and situated himself atop it with his curly tails splayed out so that they'd dry. His ball was tucked securely beneath his chin with his paws wrapped around it.

"Dragoon" and "Nobody" struck some sort of bell and his brow furrowed as he pondered where he'd heard the terms before in such conjuction. "Nobody" he knew, Shoom went on about being a Nobody all the time when prompted to tell something about himself, and he'd had the concept rather vaguely explained to him because of Bryna and her brood and their odd behavior. Had somebody said something about a Dragoon Nobody? He couldn't seem to remember.

"I'm familiar with the concept of a "Nobody", though I must admit it seems odd. Though considering the people I live with, odd is a common phenomenon." He shrugged. "I suppose one gets a little desensitized to "odd" after running into enough of it."

He returned the bow with his own head before settling it back atop his ball. "Do you live out here? Or do you seek some peace and quiet out here in the wild?" If one was familiar enough with such things, the tone of his voice during that last question and the soft sigh that followed it just might tip someone off that peace and quiet were in short supply for the Luck.

"There are a few Nobodies running around that I have met, but most of them have been half or less. Some more friendly than others" As she remembered her meeting with Axis and Xanul and how she was scared of them. "Tho I have met one other that wasn't one that knew about, her name was Eruanna and she saw one of my less than endering qualities that I wish would just go away," she said shivering remembering her meeting with Xaldin. "And I do look odd as well with no visable eyes and such,"

She thought for a moment, she really didn't have a family yet just friends to talk to. "Well for the most part I just wander around no really place to call a home. But I do some times sleep at the HQ or in trees," as she had discovered that sleeping up high was cool and a great place to watch the sun and to keep dry. "This place is one of my favorite places to just think in general and it clears my head where I can think more clearly. Also its nice place to watch the sunrise or sunset," she replied as she was wondering about the ball that was under his chin.

"Just wondering why do you have that ball with you?" she asked as she was curious to why and she though it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Dachrun nodded a bit when Dragoon started speaking. "Yes... I've seen a few myself. Honestly some of them make even less sense than the lack of heart thing." He shook his head. "It's just a strange concept to me, I suppose. Such a circumstance never occured to me before I ran into them."

His ear flicked at the mention of Eru, and he gave her a somewhat more direct look. "...So you're the one she was talking about the other day?" He was quiet for a moment. "Less endearing qualities... take work to overcome." He half grimaced, half grinned. "And time. I'm still working on mine. It helps to have friends around to encourage me and... correct me. Of course they practically had to beat me over the head to get me to stop trying to deal with it all on my own..." His grin turned a bit sheepish after that little confession.

He tilted his head once more after her comment on her appearance and finally shook it. "Not really... "odd" or "strange". "Unusual", perhaps. More like... exotic, after a few moments to get used to it." He nodded. "Yes. You're actually a rather lovely young lady." Blithely honest, Dachrun tended to be, and a gentleman to boot. He didn't always think about how his honesty might be recieved, but there it was.

He just smiled and nodded to most of her description of her living arrangements and why she liked to stay at this particular spot. It was a shame not to have a "home", but that sort of freedom seemed tempting at the moment. And he had to agree that this was a nice place.

Her question caught him a bit off-guard and he sort of clung to the ball. "It's mine." He said it a bit warily. And then, "My parents gave it to me." He'd had it since before he'd even hatched. He'd... always been obsessively attached to it, which seemed a trait that all Lucks shared, but honestly aside from the fact that his parents had given it to him, and that he'd had it forever, he couldn't actually think of a reason why he was so deathly attached to it. It was a little unnerving to think about, honestly... so most of the time he didn't bother, since it was simply how things were for him.

"Most of the ones I know were fairly normal, except for one. But sometimes I can make no sence as well."

She smiled a bit on how she had pestered Eru to serve her and she nodded that it takes work to over come. "That is so very true. Back then I wanted things to be back to normal, until Eru told me that I could do what I wanted." She turned to her other side, were it could dry as well and contuned. "But also to make progress, sometime fall backwards on that progress as well. Resently I learned that I can become so emotionless...so ruthless. So like my other self before comming here and to take orders with no thoughts of what the consquences could be..." she wondered why she was tell him these things, but it felt so good to tell others, as Eruanna had only see the serface of what she could be come. "Its something that I never want to see come to a head ever again." She said sheepishly at what she just told him and hope that it wouldn't scare him.

A warm fuzzy feeling came over Dragoon to what Dachrun had said and if he could see through her fur that she was blushing, but she like how he called her exotic and that she was. "Well thank you..." She was at a loss of words. "But your Handsome yourself," she finaly replied.

Dragoon could see that he loved that ball, but she was the same way with her lance. It was like a part of her just as the Jade ball was part of Dachrun and knew how he felt about it. "Its good to have something you treasure and the memories that it can bring," As she reached up into her cording on her neck to rub the crystal heart that was nessled there.

Dachrun was quiet for a long moment after her confession. He wasn't frightened, but he'd never seen her in the state she spoke of, either. He wasn't sure what advice to give her on the subject, since his attachment to duty was due to emotion and not a lack of it. "I suppose..." he said slowly, "That if you ever find yourself dropping into that state again, you could simply try to concentrate on your friends and the things they have taught you rather than on the orders being given. I doubt it would be easy but... I am not certain what else might help in your case. It's a bit out of my depth."

He smiled gently at the returned compliment and nodded acceptance. "Ah... Thank you." He then listened to her reply about his ball, and glanced curiously to see what it was she reached for. He couldn't quite make it out, mostly a glitter of light on facets of some gem. "You carry memories of your own, I take it?"

She listened to what Dachrun had to say. She knew that and hoped that no one would see her in that state never again, but it was a possabilty and that she could feel that part of her deep within her soul. "Thanks for the advice. It might come in handy but I hope that it will never come to that," she answered. Dragoon was a little amazed at the advice he gave and she was just telling to get it off her chest and not expecting an answer, but it was very much appreaced and thought that Dachrun wasn't a very nice kitsu.

"Your welcome," Then she took out the gem from were it was, where he could see it. A heart-shaped crystal that faded from Indigo to black. "Yes I do. This gem I made for my self and two other friends. As they are also part Nobodies to simulate hearts and at least for me to remember them by. But I have others.." she trailed off returning the heart crystal to it spot and sat up to summing a small portal and reaching in and taking out her lance which was much shorter than it was before but it fit her body better out of the portal. It closed and showing Dachrun. "I might not like what I was, but I'm proud that I'm a fighter a warrior and my lance reminds me of this fact that I can never hide or forget."
PostPosted: Sat May 24, 2008 10:27 am

Dachrun nodded rather solemnly. "We all hope our worse qualities won't surface again. If we're lucky, they won't. But often they try to come out when we're under a good deal of stress, no matter what we will things to be. It's important to remember... that we have friends, and that they're there to support us when we need it." He smiled wanly. "I fear I may have become a rather bitter person if I had not met my friends."

He eyed the crystal appreciatively. It was a strange but lovely thing. Rather like Dragoon herself. The lance, though, really caught his eye and he sat up a bit more to better see it. "To be a warrior is a proud and worthy thing. To remember the past is also a great thing. Whatever we have done good or bad, if we forget the thing that happened we forget what we learned from it, and I feel that such a thing would make us lesser people than we once were..." He trailed off with a sheepish grin and shrugged. "I shall start rambling at this rate."

"That is some good advice. Its nice to know that we both have friends that care for us. It makes life a lot more happer and sometimes lets me forget what I have done in the past for a bit while I enjoy the present and to look fowards to the future." Smiled and she felt happy inside. "Well I'm glad that you didn't become bitter as you are fun to talk to and to have more fun times later in time,"

"That is so true. Also it tells me to protect those that I care for." Grinning for his rambling. "But when one starts to rample, its about a topic they care for so much that they would want others to hear what you have learned and you would hope that they would learn from what you have learned in the past."

Feeling that his back was for the most part dry by now, Dachrun rolled onto his back to let the underside of his tails and his belly dry. He was very careful about manuvering his ball, winding up with it sitting on his chest, tucked between his forepaws. He felt rather silly being in such a position in front of someone he just met, and a strangely lovely lady at that, but it would be more silly yet to walk around with a damp belly and tails to collect dust and debris and turn into a muddy mess later.

"It was strange, for a while. Having friends. My upbringing was about learning what I must to fulfill my duties... not playing games or "hanging out"." He smiled a bit when she mentioned doing things together again in the future. "That would be nice... I do appreciate my friends, but they all have their own lives and problems and I often find myself at odd ends. It would be nice to have someone to do things with."

His smile widened a bit at her response to his "rambling". "I have learned much... and I have much to learn. And I have gained much from listening to what others had to say. I have run into unfortunately few who were as eager to learn from the experiences of others as I was. It's become a habit to try and quell my fountains of speech before they overflow, so to speak." He was also very good at unintentional eloquence. Not that he'd ever noticed... it was unintentional for a reason.

Takeing a few practic swings with her lance, she knew it was silly to do so but she hadn't taken out her lance in a long time and it was a weight that she sorta missed haveing. But with that done she opened another portal and put it away were she wouldn't lose it and knew were it was at all times. Also knowing there would be few that would even be able to find it, so it was safe and hovered off the ground a bit and upside down to dry her
belly.

"Yes I have to agree on that one, as it was strange for me as well. But you don't make friends when you don't know if they or even you are ever going to come back in one piece and also lacking emotions to even form that type of bond." she saw that her old life was just sad in her new life, but she would learn from those experences to help her have a better one in this one. "Most of the time I just wander around and if I bump into my friends then I will hang with them for a bit. But for the most part I just alone in my wanderings...it would be nice to wander with someone..." she just said thinking a thought out loud as she knew it was lonely by yourself, but she didn't want to intrude on others too much eather.

"I was always told in my other life to learn from what others have learned before you. Sometimes it will help you not to make the same mestakes as the others and you learn how one does it and then take what you have learned to turn it around to something that that person might have not thoguth of doing. It makes it life little easier and a lot more fun as well. As we can learn what they others like to do for fun to try it ourselfs and find that its fun to do. Also power is not everything and you could lose to others because of it, but if you have the knowlage on how and when to use that strength, you will hardly lose." Dragoon heard his eloquence but thougth it just make him more beautiful.
