I'm curious. If you have, what are some of the gods you associate with, work with, have communicated with, received instruction from, been blessed by, consider special to you in some way, and how did it happen? Tell us about your interaction with them.

I think I've been blessed by Bast, who is my spiritual Mother. I've been working with Her almost as long as I've been working with magic. We began our relationship many years ago when I first did some research about Her, and then when I underwent a Ritual of Parent Divination through the Kemetic Orthodox Church, it was shown that She is my Mother, the one who created my Ka. And that's why I'm blessed. I've also experienced a few possessions, so yeah.

I used to really associate myself with Odin above any other old-fashioned god. I appreciated his thirst for magick and the many strange aspects of the entire pantheon, wherein he was the All-father. Most recently of the old-fashioned gods I've looked into developing ties with is Morpheus, god of dreams. Unfortunately, there's not a lot I've found out about him thus far, in mythology, anyway. I do know that his real name is Laurence Fishburne.

Well, I don't really associate that much with any gods or goddesses... I suppose I haven't really found one to do so. On that note, I should learn more of them for such a reason...
However, for sake of an argument...
Arkvoodle of the Sacred Crotch.

: / I'm not... all for saying I talk to Dieties.
But I associate myself the most with Celtic Gods and Goddesses.
Particularly Lugh and Brigid.
Oh and then their the Christian God. : / If he counts.

The divine shalt not be interpreted by mortals...because they'll always be wrong. Which is why I accept the fact that a higher power(s) exist but do not mess with them. In fact it/they probably use different forms when communicating just so that our brains don't explode... Like how 'God' made the world in 7 days when it took millions/billions of years. 'God' was probably just dumbing it down with that prophet so he didn't go insane. In 1000 BC I don't think anyone could have comprehended a million years let alone 4 billion.

I don't really communicate or associate myself with any deities. I look to Thoth/Hermes as a role model and as the founder of the alchemical tradition, but I by no means worship or communicate with him.
I really just commune with the Universe, in the sense that it is All That Is.

The Moirae, or Fates, are my magical namesake. I'm currently learning the lessons associated with them. It's a rocky education, but one that I find highly satisfying.

Quote: I really just commune with the Universe, in the sense that it is All That Is. So it would seem. I would be interested if anyone could tell me whats blessed me with my luck. I may have an affinity for a couple or more gods depending how low the bar is set to elaborate and list here, but I have doubts that such is the case.

XD Yeah Az I'd assume it would be rocky. Nothing is more fickle than Fate. Could you put a good word in for me? Most or all of them (the Fate aspect of the divine atleast) seem to hate me.

I presume you're really meaning just the old Gods or more widely recognized Gods. Given that I see everything as Divine, asking the question is ... well... rather silly from my perspective unless you put the above caveat on it.
I don't work with widely recognized specific Gods or Goddesses from specific pantheons. Do I work with things that are the functional equivalent? Yes. Gaia, Sun, Moon, and the myriad of other Spirits associated with these three (in prime) teach me things all the time and are everywhere. Just the other day a great Tree Spirit (and Gaia) helped me resolve something with a moment of clarity. Note that by Gaia, I'm not refering to the Greek Goddess but something more akin to all the items encompassed by the Gaia Hypothesis (aka, the Sky and the Core of the Earth and all things in between... and the magnetic field too I suppose... hehe).

Ah see I think all gods are just images of the same Divine. Different faces and facets of an incomprehensible entity.

A rather interesting theological....theory? conjecture? something like that...that I came across in reading Ficino today is that all gods exist because they're just metaphors/personifications to start with. I found this quite interesting, since I think it's kind of...the next logical step in my own theological conjectures. Because, well, right now I'm at no god exists (in the traditional sense) because they're just metaphors/personifications.
So...yeah. I just thought that was relevant. I plan on eventually making a thread summarizing everything I learn about Renaissance magic (the topic for my end-of-semester Brit Lit paper).
