who: Zell Dincht, Atae, Squall Leonheart
what: Zell's got a girlfriend! & now it's really dawned on him & he wants to tell his friend!
when: weekend before Valentine's Day. After "Meet the Spartas". Early in the morning at training time.
where: outside the house in Bass'ken Woods.
why: DUDE! Like it'll be totally cool!  Zell Dincht was psyched. Like, totally and completely psyched. Or maybe there were some residual ooooooo feelings from meeting Atae's folks. Dude, that had been... well it was hard to really describe.
Anyway... it had been the first time Zell had heard Atae call him her boyfriend. It still felt, pretty damn awesome. Like... almost more than how he felt about her and how he had such a blast spending time with her.
Zell had to tell people.
Like Squall. Oooops. It had been what seemed like ages since Zell had talked to his fellow SeeD. So brimming to overflowing with feel-good excited energies Zell called him. Invited him to meet up at their training time to 'check out his new cadet'. Hopefully his voice didn't give him away but it probably did. Then getting the okay from Squall let Atae know they were going to do something a little different the next day for training. There was no reason he was keeping it kind of a a surprise from each of them... just something fun? Or maybe he just wanted to see their faces, unprepared.
So that's where it stood as Zell bounced around the snow covered clearing -shadowboxing and doing flips and otherwise being typical Zell waiting and unable to keep still.

 Squall had arose at his normal wake up time which was about five in the morning. Though today was his day off from any SeeD mission. He was going to sleep in but end up getting a call from Zell-the-know-it-all. He scratches his head with his left hand as he answered. Squall had to pull the phone away since Zell was over excited like normal and was being loud for the time of day. Squall just said Okay he would meet him and hung up the phone.
Squall took his standard SeeD pjs off and place on his normal casual clothes. His blue eyes felt heavy with tiredness. He yawned a bit but shook it off. Squall lastly put on his shoes and headed for Bass'ken Woods. He knew that Zell would be there. Squall thought to himself that Zell more then likely found a hot dog leprechaun and has a million hot dogs now. He sighed again.
Squall kept his gunblade on him just in case there was any fowl attacks on them. He also knew that Zell can't remain still to say his life. Squall started to think that Zell suffered from ADD. Naw...He spots to the blonde Zell.
"Zell!" He said with his hands forming a loud microphone to make his voice louder.

 Something special today! Atae wondered what it could be. Since they were still going to be doing training in the same spot she wondered if maybe Zell had come up with a new move again or something... she really had no idea. It didn't occur to her of course that Zell might be springing something on her like she'd done to him; sure she knew he had some friends outside of Trel's household but she just hadn't really thought about it.
So finally she came bounding out to greet him in the clearing, all but prepared to pounce on him. "Zell! Hey, what..." Then she spotted Squall heading toward them and she stopped in her tracks and... well... stared for a moment. Who was that?! She had never before in her life seen an anthro kitsusagi, though it was impossible to mistake him for anything other than a kitsusagi. He seemed to be familiar with Zell... was this what the suprise was about? Oh... um... what was she supposed to do? She almost immediately fell into a shy posture and started fidgeting slightly.

"waaaah!!" Zell jumped at his commander's unexpected shout. Dangit, but he wasn't ever going to get used to Squall going from mister-I-never-talk to calling out loud like that. So he flailed a bit before getting his balance back, looking a bit sheepish before grinning hugely in delight. A grin that multiplied and brightened to see Atae bounding towards him. Duuuude she was just too cute!
Squall was closer and with a happy bound the fistfighter was at the anthro's side, going up on his hind legs to clap his commander on the shoulder before falling back down to all fours, blue flamed tails wagging excitedly "Booya!! You made it! C'mon!" Then he was away again, bouncing over to Atae almost wiggling with wanting to get near her again. Laughing that she was back to being shy, Zell playfully nudged the underside of her muzzle.
Another playful nudge. "go-on, shy gal say hi." He beamed warmly at her then grinned at Squall, looking almost fit to burst out of his uniform.

Squall just smirked. He wasn't as quiet as he was in the past. He like to talk but not as much as a normal person would. He brushed off his shoulder after Zell clapped him on his shoulder. He wonder what in the world did he need to get up so early just to do anything. He had been wanting to sleep since he had not gotten much of it lately. Then he raised an eyebrow. He noticed a female kitsusagi.
He notcied that Zell was extremely exited and the girl....well look about to faint. Squall wonder if his appearance was scaring her.

Atae squeeked slightly at the nudge from Zell and then gave a shaky smile. "I... er... Sorry. I've never seen an anthro before..." It was addressed to both males, though after the second one her ears went back slightly and her smile turned sheepish. "Oh! Right." She padded forward a bit toward Squall and looked... up... at him. "Um... Hi. I'm Atae..." Very up... she was a bit on the small side for an adult kitsu.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Atae," said Squall squating down a bit because he felt a bit award having other look up at him. "I am Squall Lionheart." He gave her a bit of a smile bit it was faint. "I guess you are a lucky lady to get a know it all like him." He then pointed his right thumb at Zell.

Zell grinned -beamed really- tails wagging, half bouncing in place, ears flicking with excitement as they introduced themselves to each other. Really.... Zell had been intending to do the introductions but he had become so excited he forgot! Of course, now he had forgotten that he had forgotten so all was good.
As Squall continued talking & jerked his thumb at him Zell jumped and folded his ears back. "Hey!" Then he pouted. "Aw man... I was wantin' to tell ya but now ya've all gone and guessed on me, haven't you?" Sticking his tongue out at his commander Zell bounded to close the small gap between him and Atae. He dipped his head beneath her chin and bopped up playfully -being careful of the hair. Of course. " 'Tae here's the cutest lil' scrapper ever!" Beam & blush. "Dunno how she puts up with me though." He might not know, but blue eyes sparkled happily that she did.

Atae's face had been almost perpetually red when she and Zell were together in others' company lately, so she didn't feel the need so much as she had to hide in Zell's shoulder. So at Squall's comment she just flushed a bit more but wagged her tails, and continued wagging them when Zell bopped the underside of her chin again. Though she did pull her head back after Zell's last comment. "Put up with you? I like being around you." She stuck her tongue half out and then pulled it back, seeming to think better of continuing their little game in front of the anthro. "Besides... just about anyone would be easy to put up with after living around Bryn and her brood." She loved them all but... that family was crazy.

Squall just crossed his arms like normal and watched the two love bird kitsu. It made him miss his own Ambre. He hadn't seen her in a long long time. He sighed as his mind went wondering off to well other things. Then he turned his attention back to Atae and Zell. "Well Atae if you really want to control or whatnot...he like hot dogs a lot." Squall legs started to cramp after a while and he stood up shaking them out a bit. "So any ways how did the two of you meet?"

"Really?" Grinning Zell made a playful lunge for her tongue... with his mouth... pouting playfully when she quickly pulled it back in. Then he laughed. "Why? Bryn's fun!"
Yeah... of course Zell (aka spiky-head to Bryna) would think so.
"Heeeeeey!!" He pouted at Squall's jibe, blue eyes frowning lightly with the pout although his tails -traitorous things that they were- wagged happily at the thought of hotdogs. He crinkled his nose at Squall then couldn't help but grin touching his shoulder to Atae's playfully. "Yeah... meeting. Well see... I play paintball with Kitsyn on Tuesdays and she brought 'Tae over for some training after shy-gal here was in a bit of a scuffle." The joyful look in his eyes flickered in concern. It had been before he met her Atae had been hurt... but it still bothered him. The thought of her being hurt... wrenched his guts in a way nothing ever had before.
"Right 'Tae?"

Atae giggled at Squall's attempt to confide a secret, and then Zell's reaction. "Aw... everyone here knows that though... believe me, I've heard from everybody about the hotdogs." She wagged her tails as well, though. It was a fun little jibe... but honestly, she wouldn't ever want to make Zell do anything he wasn't willing to. She just wasn't the sort for it.
Her tails stilled when Zell mentioned the scuffle with Charity that had led to her seeking his tutelage... though it was because of his emotional reaction, not the memory of the occurance. That no longer bothered her... later events had taken all the sting out of that one. And there'd been no permanent damage, in any case. Really it had led to a lot of good things. "Kitsyn brought me over here one day and I've just been training with Zell ever since and... I guess things just sorta happened after a while." It seemed kind of silly that it was goofing around and playing that had finally made them realize how they felt... otherwise they'd likely have remained oblivious, at least for a while longer.

Squall gave one of his happy smiles which was rare for even him. "Well it is great that you two have each other. Zell just make sure to protect her with your life and make her feel special every day." Squall rarely showed any emotion as far as love. Only around his mate he would those kind of things.
"So Zell have you been keeping up with your training as far as SeeD standards?"

"yeah... sorta happened." Zell made a face while still grinning ear to ear. "Sorta went down with the mistletoe & stuff..." Speaking of... he should probably officially thank Hemi some time. Had the healer-wizard suspected or was he just being cute?
Rare? Like.... that was an understatement. Zell looked stunned. For a moment anyway. Then he grinned, all the energy from the moment he was stilled seeming to double up on his normal energy as he returned to -well- normal. For Zell. "Duuuuude... well, duh." Playfully bumping his shoulder with Atae's
The fistfighter gave his commander an incredulous look. "Aw c'mon. Like I'd let SeeD standards hold me back, man. 'Course I have. Can't loose my edge." He looked almost indigent, snuffing Atae's fur before hopping to the side and tossing some shadowboxes around. What was up with that question anyway? Did Squall really think he would slack off, just 'cause there was no Garden to report to or missions or anything? Not that he showed much of his thoughts except for an intense look behind his blue eyes and boyish grin. Of course... keeping anything hidden didn't work to well with his girl, but...

Atae blushed once more when the mistletoe was mentioned, and turned just a shade darker at what Squall told Zell and then the fistfighter's playful but affectionate reply. Though she tilted her head a bit quizzically at Squall's question and Zell's reaction, feeling more than a bit of her sweetheart's displeasure. "Zell works hard every day," she said simply, but firmly. Zell might be a goof and act playfully even during training, but she knew he took it very seriously.
