They are enemies, on the battlefield and for Ikuto's heart. They are very different and yet so similar, but I think they are actually good friends-deep down, of course.
I finally bought Shugo Chara vol.3 (**squeal!**) and Utau and Amu actually seem to get along (for the most part). They have a lot of the same views and neither ever gives up, which makes me feel they could also work very well together! I bet if they spent enough time together, they could possibly become best friends.

O_O;; does it usually take that long for an english subtitle? only if the subbers AKA Formula Subs are busy with real life xd or it's just cause they're taking long oorrrr it might be because of school and such hehe ninja

Amu and Utau really are similar, aren't they?
It sort of starts in volume 3 and goes past that into chapter 26 (the latest chapter). If you think they're similar in volume 3 wait until all that stuff happens in volume 4...
But I really like Amu and Utau. They're both stubborn and both of them act really different then their usual personalities when the guys they like are involved. Yeah...I like these two. They're similar, but really different too.

I think I like Amu better then Utau because she reflects what most kids feel growing up, but I guess Utua is kinda admirable because she is giving up her life for Ikuto. Though I hope she grows out of her so called 'love' for Ikuto because I strongly dislike incest and yaoi.

They could be friends if Utau wasn't so... critical? Honestly, though, I love Utau. Plus, when Utau gets fumed, Amu just adds to it and gets angry, too. Love hate, love hate.
