So Fridays we play for our basketball games, and every Friday we show up 2 hours early so we can have a brief practice. Well, I had to stay after that day to finish missing chem work and then right after I had to go straight to band for b-ball practice. ((I also didn't sleep since I woke up, 4 a.m.)) So in the middle of practice we were practicing a newer song. I, of course tired, started to doze off with my saxophone in my mouth. >< I didn't notice until I realized that I had played the whole song asleep! Dx Everyone laughed and my section leader spazzed for a bit, but after I was wide awake. ;~;

In jazz band we did a really pretty ballad that was a tenor feature, and when I was resting for 15 measures, Jon put me to sleep with his playing. xD Yeah, my BD was happy with that. I've fallen asleep in BD lectures, too. He still doesn't understand that nobody listens, and I'm just more upfront about it.

haha the whole lower brass section tends to fall right asleep during our band rehearsals whenever the director say something about hearing the saxes or trumpets at a certain measure... they take forever to get stuff down

Well we didn't really fall asleep . . . this is more of an inside joke, really. Still funny though.
We were playing this really hard piece, and the longest rest we had was one measure. The trombones (lucky them, they had 15 measures or so of rest for every 5 measures of playing) asked how long we had rests for, and we told them one measure. I was like "Yeah, that's where we take our nap"
The during the concert when we got to that measure my friend whispered "Time for our nap!" and I was laughing so hard I almost couldn't come back in. . .

Ha! My entire section nearly fell asleep during morning practise! We have so many bars of rest in this one piece (about 50 in the beginning), that we tend to either space out or doze off. Hell, we've even done homework during class...
Just to note... bari saxes do NOT make great pillows...

;] Freshman year, we were playing the song Sleep (of course), well needless to say during a long rest, I took a nap, and my friend had to wake me up.
More recently a couple of weeks ago, I had decided that I didn't want to go to sleep, so I stayed up all night, and during band I just kept falling asleep in the middle of the song, so my friend kept hitting me to keep me awake. ;]

I can't fall asleep.Too many things going on around me.I've tried.I can't even sleep when something alive is asleep next to me.My room has to be completely dark, silent and nothing can be moving.I know, weird.
