(( Well, Jeremiah and I have not taken the time to give little Ira the RP he needs, and so ... today is that day, with hopefully a lot more to follow.

However, as we didn't get the chance to RP him as a baby, we're "de-aging" him for this RP. At least for now, please picture him as being this age, okay? ))

"We haven't been down this way before, Jeremiah. What's gotten into you?"

Perhaps it isn't all that strange to see this darkly clad couple as they stroll down the moon drenched path. Their posture implies romantic entanglements between the two, with the shorter female resting a cheek against her companion's bicep. A long sleeved black trench coat, a thick seeming dark gray shirt, smooth leather pants, and sturdy looking boots equally as dark in hue protects the man against the chill of the evening. One is near tempted to wonder just what is keeping the young woman warm besides being pressed up against this gentleman's side, as her garb is much more fanciful and a bit on the revealing side. Her gown dips down low at the neckline, also hugging her waist and hips to show off appealing curves. Malachite glistens where a bracelet is about her left wrist, still more just above her breasts where a black beaded necklace is nestled with its silver Ingall setting holding still more of that semi-precious gem. Whereas her company is somewhat tan with wind tousled black hair, the lady's skin is rather pale from the chest up, with what can be seen of the rest of her proving to be a silvery gray. Her hair is wavy and just below her shoulders, its dark gold catching the moonlight and shining as if keeping that glow for itself. Even more unusual than her strange shift in skin tone are the wings that even now have one curved about her companion, this Jeremiah, as if shielding him from the rest of the world. They seem to be feathered, but their composition is of something dark and insubstantial in places, as if they are not completely solid. Shadows, perhaps?

"Going to tell me where you are leading us this eve, my dear?" the woman whispers, smiling coyly as she tilts her head up to try and meet Jeremiah's eyes with her gray edged sea green ones, "You walk with a purpose you have yet to share."

He smiles faintly, his eyes set ahead on the path that they are walking. He's been wanting to just walk with no real purpose for quite some time, so, this seems a good opportunity. Besides, it's a good chance for the two of them to get away from the temple and to find something other than temple matters to worry about.

He glances down to her as they walk, his dark blue eyes meeting her sea green. "I honestly have no idea where we're going. But, we're going." He chuckles lightly as he tries to tug her to be a little more against him. His pace a rather casual one, though he does seem to want to get away from things sooner rather than later. Perhaps it's the look in his eyes that would make one think such things.

"Are you familiar with any of this area, Cereus?" He asks, his eyes looking back toward her for a brief moment before turning back to focus on where they're going. He's never been this way before. . . As a matter of fact, he's never been able to truly explore many of the areas of this world. Heh, there's sure to be a few more questions eventually.

"Familiar? No, at least not from recent events. If I have passed this way before, the memory eludes me. The way is pleasant, though, is it not?" She's come to appreciate the calm scenery about them, even if she only sees it in black and white due to the darkness about them.

Sidestepping a rock protruding up from the dirt of the path, she guides her Jeremiah around it with a light tug in the proper direction. "Do tell me, my acolyte, how you came to lose your sword? You've brought it up a few times in the past, but never in detail. It's not often that travel between worlds strips the traveler of such goods, at least in my experience."

Acolyte? Hm, is that why this Jeremiah has a portion of his facial features obscured by what seems part of a white mask? It only covers some of the right side of his face, and but from his forehead to his cheekbone at that. It's certainly not an every day fashion accessory.

"Jeremiah ... Hold a moment." Trying to halt their progress by slowing her own, the woman he's called Cereus looks out into a nearby field of flowers. "There is someone here. Someone ... familiar. One of my children?" Her smile is slow, but it's of the sort that brightens her face till she seems as if stars were stolen from the night sky and set within her hair and eyes. "Yes, it must be."

*The fact that she's not familiar with this place only seems to please him. He was hoping that it was new to both of them, and not just himself. This only serves to make him want to explore even more now, especially with such a wonderful companion for such things.

"My sword?" He asks, an eyebrow arching a little. "I honestly don't know if it was lost before I entered the rift or after. It's very possible that something happened just before I entered. It's not really important, though. Heh, but I admit that I miss that blade." He seems to lose himself in thought for a moment, memories of the times that he's had to make use of that weapon floating through his mind.

But, he snaps back to reality rather quickly when she says to hold. He looks to her for a moment, then glances around as if checking to see if anyone might be watching them, or following perhaps. He then glances to the flowers with her, a brow arching again as she makes known the reason for their sudden halt. "One of your children? Hmmm..." He thinks for a moment and smiles faintly. "It would be a good thing to find one, wouldn't it? After all, you are their mother." His smile remains as he watches, though he's alert and ready for anything should something bad come of this. But, he can't help but feel at ease. . That's a good thing, isn't it?

"So few have survived the passage of time ..." The presence feels as if it's getting closer, and so she slides her arm away from Jeremiah, always turned in the direction she's certain the feeling is coming from. Her left arm reaches out as she begins to kneel, fingers beckoning as her hushed voice sweetens, calling to one her heart says is hers. "Little one .. Dear little one. Come. Be not afraid. Come to me ..."

It isn't fear that's filling what is now ambling through the tall grass that seems as if a mighty forest from its perspective. No, it's excitement. There is something beyond these barriers. Something that calls to its very nature. Something that feels .. feels like home.

"Little one ..."

So close now. Nearly there! Just a bit more to climb. Steady now, don't rush. The fall would cost too much time. Shapes move in the darkness, and keen eyes narrow as the being hunches down and .. wriggles its bottom?

"Come to me ..."

It's likely to say that both the woman and the man were not expecting what happens next. With the tiniest of happy mreowls, barely overheard by even the woman's sharp elven ears, a wee streak of black and gray catapults itself from atop a sunflower to go flying through the air and land smack in the middle of Jeremiah's face, with all four ... paws? ... scrabbling to hang on, tiny claws digging in and seeking purchase. All the while a high-pitched, young voice is squeaking at a rapid clip. "Hello! Who are you? Why are you here? Are you mine? Of course you're mine! I sensed you, you know. Will you name me? I've always wanted a name! The others call me Bellyfluff and Spotbottom, but I don't like those names. What's your name?" On and on it goes. It seems this tiny thing, a feline from the look of him, doesn't have a need for air or has perfected the art of talking and breathing at the same time.

He watches for a moment as she begins to call to what she believes is one of her children. He smiles before turning away, simply checking to see if there is anything at all following them. He'd rather they be alone right now, but, if something happens, he'd like to be prepared for it. Nothing is going to catch him by surprise right now, especially when he's here with her.

Heh, if only that were true. As he turns back to face his Cereus, the black and gray streak comes clearly into view. . Well, that is until it latches onto his face. The sudden shock of having a small patch of fur latch onto him with claws causes him to lose his balance for a moment and stumble backward, a single hand moving up to try and grab at what's holding onto him. "Hey! What the?!" But, there'll be no grabbing the little fur ball, as the stone protruding from the ground behind him has other plans. As he stumbles back, his foot catches against the stone, causing him to lose all balance and fall flat on his back, nearly knocking all the breath from his body.

The questions, it's been asking him questions ever since it landed on his face. Now, it's on top of him and asking more questions. Jeremiah blinks once. Twice. Three times, before calmly reaching to his face to try and pluck the little feline off of him with his fingers. He sighs and just lies there, waiting for the questions to end as he keeps trying to pull the little guy from his face. Thankfully, the shock of the whole situation faded with his impact against the ground. Now, he's just annoyed. . "What are you?. . . And why did you pounce my face?" Is his only response to all the tiny creature's never ending questions, as he looks at the little feline with an annoyed expression.

The winged woman first looks perplexed, then brings up both hands to cover her mouth and smother the chuckle that nearly escaped. Strangely enough, her expression doesn't change to concern until after Jeremiah trips over the rock and starts to fall. Likely part of the reason why he's able to address the little cat that's clinging to his nose as clear-toned as he can is due to his companion's quick reflexes and even faster control of the shadows around them. When he landed, he landed on something a little softer than the ground itself. His "pillow" of shadows dissipates not long after it's put to use, lowering him to the dirt gently. Only then does his Cereus approach, sitting down beside the odd couple and regarding their exchange of questions with no small degree of amusement as a silvery gray hand smooths errant locks of black hair away from Jeremiah's forehead.

The black and gray cat seems to not be dismayed by Jeremiah's lack of enthusiasm. Instead, he starts to purr, which only thrums his tiny body against the nose of the human he's trying to stay latched onto. Jeremiah's fingers seem to get a hold of the tiny cat, but then slip without explanation. It's as if he's trying to grab a wisp of smoke! "I'm a kynd! Well, kinda. None of the others have seen one like me before. I dunno exactly why. But I'm a kynd, just like them! Why am I different? I dunno." By all that is gracious and good, is that a break in his excited chattering? It seems the little fellow does have a need to breathe, as he sucks in air before continuing. "I pounced for practice! Did I pounce well? I wanted you to notice me, too, since you're mine and I'm yours. You know that, right? I'm yours, you're mine, and we belong together? We do, you know. You're gonna name me, right? I really don't want it to be Spotbottom though. Can it be something different? Please? Oh, oh! What's your name? You didn't tell me that yet. What is it? Hey, did you know your eyes are huu-uuge?"

He's unsure how this little guy can talk so much without breathing. It's annoying, but amusing at the same time. He wants to be upset, but he can't help but crack a small smile. . Though, that smile doesn't last. He quickly hides it again with a little scowl and a look of dismay when the small cat begins to talk again. He had thought that the break in words might be the end of the ceaseless chatter and questions. But, no such luck for this dark haired man.

He growls a little as the cat continues to talk. "All right, all right! I'll name you. . Just please, be quiet for a moment. . " He lays there, waiting for the tiny kitten to be silent, and also trying to make sense of everything he's been saying. They belong together? He sensed him? Hmmm. . That's very interesting, and slightly disturbing.

"Would you please get off of my face, though? I'd like to be able to see what you look like, before I decide on a name. . Otherwise, it's Bellyfluff." He then continues making vain attempts at grabbing the little kitten with his fingers, passing right through him each and every time.

With the seated woman looking on, the slippery cat wriggles backward, at first forgetting to unlatch his claws in his excitement. It's when he's likely to hear a grunt or any other noise indicating pain that his memory gets a jolt and he scurries all the faster, this time with his claws retracted. Being as tiny as he is, accidentally tumbling over the edge of Jeremiah's nose isn't all that unbelievable of a mistake. Mrewing piteously, he clings to Jeremiah's upper lip, his legs kicking in the air over a mouth that looks a lot more like a gigantic pit filled with teeth to the panicking whimsical. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Please, Mister I-don't-know-your-name-yet-'cause-you-didn't-tell-me, please don't eat me! I don't taste good, really! Kinda like that poofy stuff on the green stalks. Yeah, like that! Plus, I'm yours! Yeah, you wouldn't want to eat your whimsy, would you?"

Before Jeremiah can come to the kitten's aid, which is supposing that he could given that his fingers seem to pass straight through the little fellow, a gray hand boosts the furry behind up so all four paws can find purchase just above the rim of the "gaping maw" below. The cat wastes no time, too shaken by his near brush with what he's certain would be instant death to thank the winged woman beyond a meowed, "Thanks!" before gamboling his way across one of his human perch's cheeks to a shoulder. Once there he plops his bottom down and begins to groom. He wants to look his best for his bond, after all.

He can't help but grunt just a little as the tiny cat begins to move without unlatching his claws. The annoyances never cease, it would seem. He can't help but chuckle at the clumsiness of the tiny kitten, though he suddenly finds himself annoyed again as the kitten begins begging for its life. . Though, he's not without sympathy for the little guy.

"You can stop worrying now. . . I'm not going to eat you. . . . " He sighs softly, glancing over to his Cereus as she helps the cat up and away from his mouth. "Thank you, Cereus. . " He says, half amused, half annoyed by everything. "And, please call me Jeremiah, little one."

As the kitten begins settling in and grooming himself, Jeremiah begins to think, still laying on his back on the ground. "There are certainly a few things that you could be called. . But, you already made it clear that you want a pleasant name. . " He continues considering names for a moment, looking toward the tiny kitten with what it called "huu-uuge" eyes. "You're sure you don't like Bellyfluff? It seems rather accurate. . "

There's a surprisingly confidant and indignant "fsssst" from the black and gray cat, who pauses in his grooming to glower up at Jeremiah with eyes so tiny and black they likely should be glinting like obsidian flecks ... only they don't. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any light shining off of those minuscule and narrowed orbs. "Your name's 'Miah? 'Kay, I'll call you 'Miah. Not Bugeyed, or Furless, or Tunnelnose."

That time the lady can't hold in her snicker. "Tunnelnose? Child, surely you can think of more than that?"

That immediately gets the kitten into a better, and more active, mood. Hopping to all fours, he favors the smiling female with a kitty grin. "Oh sure, but I'm bein' nice! 'Sides, he's only teasing me, right?" He settles down then, curling his tail about his hindquarters. Black eyes look up into Jeremiah's, the smaller pair widening a bit. "Um ... Please not Bellyfluff? I mean, I'm fluffy, sure, but that's just so ... embarrassing."

He can't help but chuckle at the names the little kitten is coming up with. He finds it more than a little amusing. He's also enjoying the fact that he seems to have found a little button that he can press, well, when he wants to tease the little guy.

He starts to protest as the little kitten butchers his name, calling him "Miah" instead of "Jeremiah". . He narrows his eyes and takes on a defeated look for a moment, before grinning a little and resting a hand over his face.

He thinks for a moment, taking his time since Cereus seems to have the little kitten distracted for a moment. Then, finally, the perfect name seems to pop into his mind. He keeps it reserved for a moment, waiting for him to stop talking and actually give him his full attention before actually saying the name.

He can't help but chuckle as the small "whimsy" begins asking him not to name him "Bellyfluff". "All right, I won't name you Bellyfluff. . . I suppose that might be a little embarrassing." He grins and takes a moment to actually try and focus on the little guy, taking in his features. "How about I name you Ira? I think it's suitable." He's not sure where that name came from, but it sounds better than Bellyfluff, at least. . So, that should make the tiny whimsical happy for a while. . . Or so he hopes.

"Ooooo! That's to be my name?! I like it! It's simple and .. and .. and stuff!" Paws scamper up the length of Jeremiah's shoulder to press the whimsy's head against his bond's throat, as a purr thrums its way throughout his tiny frame. "I gotta name! I gotta name!" he celebrates, continuing to rub and purr like a butterfly sized motor.

"Wait ..." Is the celebration over? The wee whimsy backpedals, once again perching on Jeremiah's shoulder and trying to look up at his face. "Whut's it mean, and whut's your name mean, 'Miah? I wanna know, just in case the others ask me. Sometimes they get all curious and ask all sorts of questions. Really, really fast questions. I gotta talk all quick and stuff to keep up!"

Perhaps it hasn't occurred to the whimsy that they might be trying to keep up with his excited jabber? A soft laugh from Jeremiah's Cereus reminds both the man and his kitty cat that she's there. "I believe I'll leave you two be to get better acquainted," she practically purrs, leaning in to n** lightly at the underside of Jeremiah's jaw on its left side. While her lips are nestled there she croons, "Someone has to explore this place we've discovered after all. I'll see you soon, my dear."

As if composed of smoke, the lady rises with a grace that belies comprehension, a fingertip giving the newly christened Ira a pat between his tiny ears before she strides away to leave human and whimsy first watching her go and then looking at one another as if to say, "What now?".
PostPosted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:04 pm

He can't help but chuckle at Ira when he becomes so excited. "Yes, that's to be your. . " He suddenly stops speaking as he feels the tiny kitten pressing against his throat. . and purring? "Aren't you the affectionate one?" He chuckles again, glancing over to Cereus with a curious look in his eye.

He sighs softly as Ira begins asking for meanings. He only knows the meaning of Ira's name, not his own. . Perhaps the one will help ease the little guys curiosity a little. "Your name means 'Watchful', if I'm not mistaken. . I've heard it a few times in passing." He pauses a moment before adding, "I don't know the meaning of my own name. . But, at least you know yours, right?" He then grins and tries to get comfortable, even though he has a tiny ball of ethereal fur on his shoulder.

He then looks quickly to Cereus as she speaks. He doesn't want her to leave him alone with this. . . Shadow kitten. What if there are questions that he can't answer? What if the little guy won't shut up? He then sighs as her teeth begin to n** at him, his eyes closing for a brief moment. "All right, Cereus. . . If you think it best. . " That was as half-hearted a reply as he could manage. . And he managed very well. He truly doesn't want her to leave. . But, as she begins to disappear from their sight, he looks to Ira, wondering what is to come next.

"Affectionate ... Is that what it means when I do this?" More rubbing follows upon Ira gamboling back up to try and reach Jeremiah's chin with the tip of his muzzle. He has to scramble up and onto that chin to do it, eventually proving that his agility is quite astounding for one so small by performing a leap of momentous proportions (for him) from one of Jeremiah's cheeks and twisting in mid-air to land upon his target and start up his cuddling.

"Watchful .. I can be that!" is chirruped, the whimsy going from nuzzling Jeremiah's chin to darting up his face, avoiding stepping in the "squishiness" of his bond's eyes. Up the human forehead that looks more like a wide plain of pale skin to the whimsy, and finally into the forest of black hair he leaps. He rustles about for several seconds, finally poking his head out of the "foliage" to peer about intently. "I see ... I see the shadow lady leaving?"

"Um ... Why'd the nice shadow lady have to go?" It's a simple question, and asked at a pace that's actually fairly easier to understand than usual. Inquiringly black eyes look down at Jeremiah's expanse of forehead and then settle on staring at the tip of a nose that's more resembling a curved diving board to the mischievous whimsy.
