As you all should know, GazettE released their PV for Guren. If you haven't seen it then here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8d9wirxj4o

Now.. I want to know /what/ the song is about. I heard that it was about Ruki's girlfriend who committed suicide but I'm not ready to believe that. So please.. what is it about??

What is the girl's role? Why is she painting the walls with white paint? I think that's all the questions I want answered..

I haven't really given it any thought....

I do know that white is the color of death, so that could definitely mean something there.

But, I'm not really one to make assumptions without hard facts.

Whoops.. I didn't see the other board for Guren. I'll check that out. As for the rumor.. I don't know much. I thought it was for Reila as well.. but anyway.. we'll see. I'd love to know the meaning behind the song and Ruki's motivation for it..

I looked up the lyrics last night and...promptly forgot them. >_>;;;

It was sad, but I couldn't decipher any real meaning from it seeing as it was almost one AM.
But yeah...=_=;;;

But I'd say that the rumor is just a rumor.

Rumors are just rumors until the person actually confirms them.

ok me will try to sum it up about guren.

Guren has been seen alot as a part two of chizuru, reila, or lets just say a love song.
Its really about a mother who is going to lose her baby without it being born. Thats why it was tilted Guren (crimson lotus)

I have the lyric translation though

Guren/ Crimson Lotus Flower
the GazettE

Past the days we got close in
I met pain joyfully
Protecting with both hands
The feelings you(1) wept

Sorrow rained there
Remaining unknown was just fine
I remembered trembling in repose
What did you see in the reeled in dream?

Don't fade, my dear
I want to hear even a sigh
A little heartbeat
Where are you going to?

If it continues in an unchanging dream
Please don't pause your happiness and call out, but
I cannot help but drown in the everyday

Don't fade, my dear
I want to hear even a sigh
A little heartbeat
Where are you going to?

And even the salvation of these hands is unclear
Is this hurried cocoon a thread I don't tear?(2)

Don't fade, my dear
I want to hear even a sigh
In the sound of a small pulse
The wish I cannot scrub away arrives

I hold close the name I cannot call out
The tomorrow counted on my fingers I don't want to disappear
Hearing with blocked ears
The sound of a broken cradle

Awwwww. I love those lyrics, they invoke so many emotions. After muddling through bad translations, of course. >> But, I still like them.

I saw this other translation floating around and I thought it was more grammatically correct. The english translation fit the japanese a bit better too. But since the romanji was really, really off and it really bothered me crying ...I listened to the song about 10 times in a row and corrected the romanji. sweatdrop

I know some japanese and currently studying the language; I'm only in level 3. So , I'm really sorry if I get word or particle spacing off in the romanji. I'm really not too sure about "usure nani de" "usu" could be one word meaning "thin; light; somewhat"and I'm not sure if "nani" has more than one meaning...

Now I just have to figure out the how the song is written in kanji. the person who posted the kanji, romanji, and english had some part wrong in each part. because if the romanji was off, which is was... then the kanji gets thrown off and the meaning changes...

I'm really sorry if I sounded like a know-it-all-twit. m(_ _)m

I love you Rukekuu please don't eat me crying Its just that the English translation was really bothering me...I'm sorry if I sounded a bit mean. I really suck at phrasing things nicely...so I apologize if I sounded mean and stuck up.

Guren-紅蓮-

Gomen ne, ato sukoshi anata no namae to nemurasete [[this is the beginning of the song where Ruki is speaking]]

Yorisou ta sugi shihi wa itami wo yorokobi ai
Ryoute ni utsushidasu anata wo omoi naiteiru
Soko ni furu kanashimi wa shiranai mama de ii yo
Ansoku ni furue wo oboeta tari yume wa nani wo miru

Usure nani de anata yo wazukara toiki wo kikasete hoshii [[anata is usually used for your lover; depending on particles ex. anata 'no' it translates to your because 'no' is a possessive particle. In this case anata would make more sense translated to "you"]]
Chiisana kodou wo te naku anata yo koko made oide
Kawaranai yume ni tsuzuki ga aru nara douka togirazuni
Koufuku to yobe naku demo oborete kasanaru hibi wo

Usure nani de anata yo wazukara toiki wo kikasete hoshii
Chiisana kodou wo de naku anata yo koko made oide
Sukui no te sa demo aurimai de byou kizami no mayu wa
Ito wo chigirezuni haru ni daoru [[daoru is usually an ending for a question. I found another romanji translation and they said "haru ni naru" it is not a real word.]]

Usure nani de anata yo wazukara toiki de kiitete hoshii
Chiisana kodou wo no ne ni kasure nu inori yo todoke
Yobenu namae wo daite yubiori kazoeru asu wa kienai
Mimi wo fusagi kiiteta yurikago yureru oto

Torimoudose nu haru ni guren no hana ga saku

[English] Crimson Lotus

I'm sorry... after awhile, let me sleep by your name

The passing days drew us closer
The pain is matched with joy
Both hands reflect that
I cry when i think of you
there is a rain of sadness
it's fine just to remain unknown
i tremble for repose, i remembered
what do you want to see in this reeled in dream?

i dont want you to fade
let me hear, even a sigh
a small heartbeat, that isnt there
i want you come here!
unchanging dreams, if this continues on
please dont pause in your happiness
even if it doesnt need to called out but
the drowning days are piling over me.

i dont want you to fade
let me hear, even a sigh
a small heartbeat, that isnt there
i want you come here!
Even the hands of salvation is also in vagueness
Will there be a cocoon at intervals of the second, without the string tearing off?

i want to hear, even a sigh
little rhythm to the sound of the heartbeat
of touched prayers delivered.
the name which i cannot call out i held closely
counting with my fingers, i dont want tomorrow to dissapear
hearing with blocked ears
the sound of a broken cradle

the spring time will never come again
the crimson lotus is in bloom

I have to agree.

Those are the two translations of "Guren" that I know are circulating right now. I actually found the one you posted first, Kuu-chan, but in all honesty, I prefer the other translation.

Because I learn from different things, I like getting to the core of songs I really like and it's really difficult to translate things nicely from Japanese to English because each language is set up so differently, so I run into some songs with 2 - 3 variations. Sometimes even more, but that's besides the point.

I read over all of the versions to get the best translation possible. I actually tend to favor the ones I read first because they stick in my brain and the others just never seem to sound right after that, but I think in this specific case, I feel the second one fits better. Plus, the other translation was missing the beginning and the end of the song, which I think was really not so good because it adds more meaning to the song. The last line is really important, so I found that translation more realiable.

With the minimal Japanese knowledge I have of the language, I think it is more grammatically correct. And it flows a bit better as sentences...

I think I should stop now. I'm blabbing too much. Sorry ^^;
But yeah....If KoharaCupCake hadn't said anything about the translation, I might have...
