((We are still accepting characters. If you are interested check out the OOC Thread.)) --------- Lightning had lived on the ship his whole life. Born and raised in the vastness of space. His parents had been children when the ship left, but his grandparents were born on their old homeland. The last ones who had actually lived there were his grandparents, a generation affectionately labeled the Last Thresians. They were the last ones to see their homeland, Thresa, as it had once been. They were the ones who built the ship that Lightning knew as home. His ancestors had long known that the end was coming, that is why they planed for it. With all that the races had done to their planet anyone could see that destruction was inevitable. The air and water were polluted, and animals and plants were endangered. Genetic crossbreeding had ensured that the likeness of these animals survived, but it was such that the genetic crosses were now more abundant then what they descended from. This is why they left. They knew that it was impossible to survive on a planet whose natural resources were fast running out. So to preserve the natural wildlife the races on Thresa had built a ship to house more than half the population of the world, and left. One can imagine that with half the population of a world the size of Thresa that the ship would be rather large, and many different races would be represented. But in fact only five of the seven prominent races on Thresa were present. Two had been left behind because, you see, only so many could reach the ship in time. Of these five races Lightning belonged to one of the most prominent; he was an immortal. Physically perfect in nearly every way, though they chose to mar that perfection. The men of this race, on the day of their maturity in their hundredth year, have their name-symbol tattooed across their chest, and from that day forward walk without shirt no matter what the weather. Lightning was only two weeks from the day of his majority. And he dreaded it. It was a tradition that had been kept alive on the ship since they had left all those centuries ago. Everyone of his race went through it, but that didn't stop him from being nervous about it.

Ravynn only knew about the ship. Yes, he listened to the older imortals tell their beautiful tales about their once beautiful homeland. About its once lush forests and vast oceans. But to him, it was only a story. He couldn't keep learning about the past and expect the future to form itself. He would always sigh after becoming enthralled in their perfect tale, but would then hurry onto his work. All he wanted in life was to find them a new home, just as lush and gorgeous as what they once had. He wanted everything to be good and whole again.
But his work had him going in the totally wrong direction. He was, at the moment, working on finding a new solution to the race of Angels long dilemma; the deteriorating wings. He had found many a solution, but unfortuntely, in one solution the wings were too weak for flight, in another they would break, and in this final one, they wouldn't stop increasing in size and strength. He was dabbling in something that could destroy an Angel's life if he hadn't tested all variables, and yet he was constantly being hurried. In a life such as his, it was hard to get anything done, especially ones own dream.

Lightning was only two weeks from the day of his majority. And he dreaded it. It was a tradition that had been kept alive on the ship since they had left all those centuries ago. Everyone of his race went through it, but that didn't stop him from being nervous about it.
Lightning was late. Well, he wasn't late yet be he was going to be late. He was going to be late, and if he was late he was going to die! (figuratively of course) The young immortal was beginning to panic as he raced down the halls, long golden hair streaming out behind him. His bare feet slapped against the tiled floor as he ran, tears of fear and apprehension beginning to form in his crystal blue eyes. He had less than one minute to be at the elders' rooms, and it would take at least five minutes of running to get there, even for Lightning. He had been given the name for a reason, for since he had been old enough to walk Lightning had done everything at a speed far faster than was normal. He was completely incapable of moving slowly. But today even his inhuman speed would not help him. If he was late to the planning for his majority ceremony he would defiantly be dead.
This ceremony was of great importance to his people, it was possibly the only part of their culture they could keep alive while out here in space. The ceremony itself was nothing special, but it was the purpose behind it that made the Immortals want to keep on. The idea was to wear your identity like a badge of honor, and the painful tattoo was akin to majority rituals practiced by many different races on many different planets. Females did not go through this, the purpose being for the male to show his courage by withstanding the pain.
Lightning was afraid he would not be able to stand it. He was afraid he would break down. And no matter how much others told him it was painless, he would not believe them. How could having ink permanently etched into your skin not be painful?

At that time, Ravynn had his new serum. This one, in particular, held more promise than any of the others combined! He held it careful as he walked out of the sliding door and into the hallway. He needed to go to his true lab, not the chemistry lab he normally locked himself away in. With papers containing all of the formula's break down, and with the vial, itself, clasped in his other, he took the first step. Only to trip some teen running for his life. "O, my!" he yelled, nearly dropping his calculations to try and catch the boy. This only made papers fly everywhere, as well as a single body to continue his meeting with the painful floor.

Lightning's bare feet skidded on the slick tile floor as his path was intercepted by a man who suddenly stepped out into the hall. He let out a yelp of surprise as he tried to stop, but ran into him anyway. Then he tried to balance himself and not fall, but failed in the end and fell flat on his back on the hard tile.
He groaned and raised a hand up to his head, which had hit the floor and made him feel a bit dizzy. Now he really was going to be late.

This was a day to day occurance with Ravynn. He might have been a young genius, but he was a clutz like no other! "I am so very sorry!" he said to the felled man. He offered him his free hand, the vial, thank the heavens, was not damaged. As he waited for his hand to be taken, he merely sighed at his scattered work. Luckily, this time he managed to number the pages before he left his workbench.

"It's alright," Lightning assured as he took the man's hand and climbed to his feet quickly. His head still spun a bit, but he was sure it would wear off in a moment. "I'm alright. Happens all the time." It was a surprisingly common occurrence for Lightning to run into people.

"I've seen you around... I think.... an immortal.... Lightning, correct?" he asked, though he was very sure about himself. He didn't even wait for an answer as he kneeled down and started to pick up his scattered papers. He was careful to look for page one.... and then page two.... and then page three....

"Yeah," the young Immortal replied, shaking his head a little to try and regain his senses. When he came back to himself, at least mostly, he noticed the papers scattered across the floor. "Oh! I'm sorry, I've made you drop everything." He knelt down and began to help him pick them up.

"No, no... don't touch anything... you'll get them out of order," he said quickly, placing up the hand now holding the first five pages up in defense. "It took me so long to do.... there's page 6." He was picking them up in exact order.
(Ok... he's OCD...)

"Oh, I'm sorry." Lightning put the papers down instantly. He was always messing things up, it seemed. "I should... Probably just get going then. I'm already late. I'm sorry about messing up all your papers."

"O, no it's fine," he said, trying to scratch the back of his head, but couldn't due to the papers. "I was the one who tripped you over," he said with a meager laugh. "O, page 7!"

"I'm still very sorry," Lightning insisted as he brushed himself off. He set down the papers he had picked up. But he couldn't stay around here any longer, he had to get off on his own, and so took off running down the hallway again. Now he was really going to be late.

Asmodeo, as quiet and kept to himself as he normaly was, ventured from the library section of the ship, a large book in on of his hands, peaking down the hallways before heading off. he wasn't entirely sure whether outsider's were allowed in ceremonies, considering, but he wanted to see just in case, as he'd always wanted to witness one of the Majority ceremonies, especialy since they seemed so rare, considering Immortal births were few. he didn't want to die before another came, and he would ahve rather witnessed this one for himself, as the man in question's ceremony was actualy one he rather liked, even thoug they had never spoken to one another. he didn't like many of the immortals, they bothered him a bit, however lightning had peaked his interest, for a reason unknown to him.
his large, pure-blood wings ruffled irritably at his sudden movements, as he wasn't particularly used to walking around the ship, only to go back to his room at night and then to the library in the morning, and when he strayed from that path his body often times retorted with odd signs, such as the wings ruffling from his back having to adjust being upright and walking with the weight of them. his knees alsooften became weak in odd places, such as in the middle of a hall, he often toppled slightly do to one of his knees giving out.
Asmodeo was unusualy pale, even though technically everyone stayd 'inside' all the time, he kept himself away from any and all windows in which light could disturb his eyes while he read, so his skin was devoid of most color, sve for the slight pink tin about his lips and the tips of his fingers, which seemed to hold all the color in him.
he strode off to try and find the ceremony room, figuring he would ask someone if he was allowed in. he'd braught his sketchpad, as well, ashe was quite talented as far as drawing went, and would have liked to sketch part of the ceremony. he blinked as he spotted lightning himseld darting twords the hall where it would be held, seeming sort of surprised that the other wasn't already there, however he did not stop him to ask about it, not wanting to make him any later than he already was, his own footsteps rapping lightly behind, somewhere in the shadow of lightning's as the boy rushed past him.
