As the topic says.
I'm always irked when people draw 5 million horns, wings, tails, etc. Wouldn't that get annoying after a while to have 5 horns sticking out of your head for reason at all?
Also, how some people can draw anatomy, faces, etc well, but everything looks stiff and boring? Like the hand should have tension, but it just ends up looking terribly flat and stiff?
Lastly, pictures that don't make any sense. One I saw was a harpy woman chasing a mouse that a) She was swandiving down, yet the perspective was her coming up the cliff b) she had human feet and couldn't possibly grasp a mouse with them and c) her face made her look almost afraid of it, making a very lulzy and wtf feeling.
What else is your pet peeves?

fantastically detailed pieces whose underlying form is flawed
like really well shaded and rendered pictures which are off-balance or out of proportion

I hate it when people neglect the face. Like, the picture will have solid design. They will have gone to a lot of effort to create a strong character.
And then the face is just s**t. It has no personality, it looks like forty other faces they've drawn, and none of them are of any particular person. It's especially bothersome when you can tell they didn't even care - the eyes aren't looking in the same direction, even! The face here is only in the picture because it has to be.

i guess people making the assumption that VECTOR ART = BEST ART!!!!!
i have a few friends here that are extraordinarily good at making vector images but i find that the vast majority of people who are doing this stuff just uh, opened up Illustrator and started slapping s**t around.
edit: extend this i guess to a lot of different styles of cg art. which also opens something else up for me talking:
people who do greattttt linework but are horrible colorists. i am guilty of this and so avoid coloring except for recently.

QUEEN OF DRAMA HISTRIONIC MISTRESS OF THE NIGHT EMPRESS OF A MILLION FANBOYS LOOK UPON HER WORKS, YE MIGHTY, AND DESPAIRAnd hell, I'm not that involved in the deviantart community, but I've heard of her. Also, people who hide hands and feet rather than learning to draw them properly annoy me. Also also, I get very annoyed when it's clear that someone's used anime as a primary reference, especially horribly-drawn anime. The whacked-out jawlines that come to a perfect angular point, the huge googly eyes, the weird and disproportionate anatomy. Ugh. Hates it.

Blaxter Drawings of topless men without nipples. Men have nipples too, damnit. Also when people put bellybuttons like on the pelvis in between the hips. Everyone has a bellybutton. If you're too fat to tell where it's supposed to go, a quick google search could clear it right up.

I don't have a huge problem with any particular art since I can just attribute it to people doing their own thing Art communities are usually pretty gay tho

Seriously. I never said I was talking about this community specifically, or further, that I didn't think being in an art community was a necessary part of improving myself Back off

I cannot fathom how you thought your statement would not raise anybody's ire. If you are a conscientious person and desire not to offend people, perhaps consider being more specific in the future. It is only the responsible thing to do.
