So, surprisingly, I don't have a DS. And I have only played Animal Crossing: Wild World once on a friend's DS for about five minutes until she snatched it back from me.
So let me know some things about it. Is it worth buying a DS over? Is it better then the Gamecube version? Fill me in.

there are actually quite a few differences(which i'll list in the game below this one) in the game but it folllows the same basic plot of the first game... its pretty good.. i'd recommend getting it. maybe not worth getting a DS if thats all you'll play, but its still pretty good.

I have played both and LOVE the DS version...I'm not saying that it's better...but I like the controls better. You don't have to use a controller...just your stylus or the buttons..and it's easier to move around and do things...and the screen doesn't do that weird scroll over motion that the gamecube version does....the screen runs along with you..not sections at a time..that's about it..and the characters look cuter...such as the boy and the girl...hehe 4laugh heart

I only have the DS of Animal Crossing. I love it so much! I haven't played the Gamecube version of it yet... I imagine that it is better than the DS version?

The Gamecube version is a bit different...they have a few more items and animals than the ds version...for example..it's easier to get the Nintendo themed items than it is for DS...kinda sucks...but IT IS POSSIBLE for DS..you just gotta try really hard to get it...and Action Replays don't work for it...(I already tried) hahah
