Uh, once again, this is a case of "false NPC's"
Just because they DID put the name "NPC" into their names doesn't mean they are. They could very well be dead accounts from back when they very first introduced the NPC addition.
Besides, why would they reserve NPC names that are nothing but gibberish?

Well, the girl has a real red name and her profile is private, but the boy seems to have either had a name change or been deleted or something. Can't find him. But... just cause there's a new NPC doesn't necessarily mean more plot is around the corner... But it's ok to hope... ninja

Yeah, they could have been named that before putting NPC in front of your name became forbidden. Or, maybe not. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Though, it really DOESN'T make sense to have gibberish NPC names.

Though, it really DOESN'T make sense to have gibberish NPC names. But even if a user put [NPC] in front of their name, they can't make the name red. Even if it was before [NPC] became exlusive. Right?

The NPC's I keep an eye on when I get the chance, this is the same way the alien NPC's started. There are two obvious details about this, they are real because they are red and that they were system created. The evidence they were system created (as in created in the backend database, not in the website form) is the login date. New players are automatically given the last login date as the time they created their account. Only users where were around a very long time ago (when they changed the database) or system created have the 1969 login date.
