Man once called the battlefield a place of war. Now they call it a struggle for peace. Within the ranks of the soldiers, men and women on both sides see all of this as pointless bloodshed. But the Generals don't see it that way, and their opinions are the only ones that matter in the 'struggle for peace.' What is going to happen to this world when the struggle for peace becomes a fight for survival? Will the men and women fighting to simply end the war, whether they win or lose in the end, prevail over the cold-hearted generals? Will the struggle for peace end in . . . peace?
It is up to you to decide. Choose wisely, soldier. A single person could mean the difference between the salvation and damnation of the entire world.

~The Setting~
When you look around, you see graves of nameless, faceless innocents killed in the so-called 'struggle for peace' that your superiors are making you fight. The year is 4029. It is the dead of winter and the barren landscape combined with the cold is giving you no hope. You think fondly of your loved ones back home and are strengthened. It is now charged to you to meet with the other Grays of the opposition and discuss a strategy for a less-than-bloody end to a less-than-peaceful struggle for peace.

~The Makers of War~
The war has split the world into two forces. There is no such thing as race, no such things as different cultures and no such thing as national pride to separate the people. There is nothing but the solid line, thin as it is, that separates the entire world's population in two.
~|+|~
~The Misaines~
The Misaines are classified as the 'White' side of the war. They fight for God and for the Eternal Salvation of the entire world. They seek to purge the world of non-believers and to save the souls of mankind. They are the Puritains of the fourth millenium. The Misaines are the warriors of God.
~~{{}}~~
~The Caamisens~
The Caamisens are classified as the 'Black' side of the war. They fight to get rid of everything that chains the people of Earth to the ancient ways. This includes killing off religion. The Caamisens are the freedom fighters of the fourth millenium.
But there are those who collaborate in secret. These are the Grays. They belong to both the Misaines and the Caamisens and are doing their best to silence the guns once and for all, and to finally finish the war that has raged on for two millenia. They want no more bloodshed and they want no more fighting. They just want everything to be over, whether they win or lose. They just want it done.
These are the soldiers whom you must plan, plot with. It is with these people you will secure the future of the world.

~The Characters~
~Accepted Female Grays~
Username: The Scarlet Woman Full Name: Charlie Camilla Abbot-Walker Age: 18 Gender: Female Sexuality: Bisexual Likes: Candy, getting letters from home, cooking Dislikes: Elitist Blacks and Nazi-like Whites Personality: Charlie's a fire-spitting hellcat. If you get on her bad side, she will literally rip you to shreds. And have a hell of a lot of fun doing it, too. Brief Biography: Charlie was born and bred to be a soldier. But she saw her parents and her youngest brother die when she was in training at the age of fourteen. She promised herself that she'd find a way to stop the war and end the fighting. She was such a strong spirit, the other Greys rallied behind her. Without really meaning to, she became their founder and leader. My Shade of Gray: Misaine Appearance:

~~{{~~}}~~
Username: Kat Kazetouhi Full Name: Nyx Tarynn Howell Age: 17 Gender: female Sexuality: straight Likes: food, sour candy, rain, nature, computers Dislikes: super sweet things, the darkness inside of her, watching romantic scenes, people who do not claim responsibility for all of their actions Personality: A tom-boy with a sarcastic sense of humour. Her personality is complicated to explain. She is full of righteous justice and mischief. But she aslo has a dark undertone to her personality and often goes into deep thought. There is much that cannot be explained about her, and one cannot understand her twilight of a personality unless they meet her, the sinner and the saint. Brief Biography: Tearing herself out of the realm of dreams, Nyx opened her bloodshot eyes. Her eyes slowly returned to their normal silver color from the dilated onyx they had been. The seven-year-old child sat up quickly, only to find that her horrible dream was true. Bodies of her family, friends, and fellow villagers were strewn across the large room which was now stained brownish red with blood. But that wasn't when the screaming started. At this point she was merely panicked. The screaming started when she looked down at her hands and saw the blood on them. Her own blood and the blood of others. Blood from the murders and blood which seeped from the gashes down the backs of each of her fingers that had sported gruesome claws in her dream.
Nyx had been found by a solitary monk that day, and taken away to recover and heal. She grew up in the monk's home, far away from the village slaughtered by unidentified soldiers. She learned all about the war, the reasons for it, the sides, and the secret society of people trying to stop it. Personally, she didn't care. She was content in her home. But the feeling of safety she felt around the monk quickly faded one night.
Black soldiers, convinced that the monk was a threat to their cause, came to Nyx's home and murdered her mentor and the man she'd come to see as a father-figure. Something in her changed that day. She became fierce and more dangerous, somehow. She hunted down the troupe of Caamisens that murdered her beloved mentor, and murdered them, too.
After that, she became a mercenary. She killed Caamisens whenever she caught them in small groups and hid out with the Misaines without really becoming one of them officially. But she slowly tired of killing. She had avenged the monk's death. Now she would make sure nobody else was tragically ripped from their loved ones. She'd help end the war.My Shade of Gray: Misaine Appearance:

~~~{{{~~~}}}~~~
Username: StrawberryGizmo Full Name: Willow Rhea Talbot Age: 18 Gender: Female Sexuality: Bisexual Likes: music, cool weather, rainy days, chocolate Dislikes: loudness, war, romance films, jelly beans Personality: Quiet, but opinionated. If an argument arises, she will remain calm but will never back down. Violent when the time calls for it. Brief Biography: Born to a very wealthy family, she was kidnapped by Caamisens and began training as a soldier at age 7. She made no attemps at creating realtionships with anyone, and became very untrusting towards everyone. Her hatred of people grew more and more profound as she grew up and became more invovled in the war. During one battle, all of her comrads were slaughtered; her being the sole survivor. She tires of the war and has devoted her life to finding a way to stop it. My Shade of Gray: Caamisen Appearance:
Charlie paced the underground stone chamber in the mountains near the battlefield. She'd stolen things and furnished the room to be the base of the Gray's rebellion. There were maps along the far wall and torches burning, since she couldn't risk electricity use being traced this far into the mountain. There was a long table in the middle, and chairs scattered around that. There were three tunnels leading deeper into the mountain. One led to the pirated weapons storage facility Charlie had created, one went to the infirmary, and the other to the living chambers (for those who were on leave but didn't go back to their families to stay and anonymously help in the fighting.)
She'd sent out the encrypted missives three days ago, asking the other Grays to meet her here. She had been waiting restlessly for that long. She drained her mug of strong coffee and then went over to the wood-burning stove to pour herself another cup of the strong brew.
A voice echoed around the cave. "Need me to help with something?" The speaker was a dark skinned girl with short, shaggy brown hair. Her amber eyes peered out from beneath dark brows at Charlie, a trace of laughter in them, but also a faint trace of darkness which never left them. She had stolen in several minutes ago while the other woman had not been paying attention. That was why the laughter was in her eyes. She enjoyed being the very best when it came to stealth.
Charlie whirled around, dropping her favorite coffee mug (a hunni pot with a winnie the pooh handle) in favor of pulling out her .45 calibur pistol that had once belonged to her grandmother. She scowled at the girl with dark skin and amber eyes. "Never, ever sneak up on me," she snarled, her seafoam-green eyes narrowing.
She was wearing a tight black tank top and had her hair pulled back into a short ponytail. Her cargo pants were cinched tight at her hips with a black studded belt. She had heavy black army boots on her feet and her pants were tucked into them; she was looking pretty fierce with three Regiment tattoos on her arms, and her dogtags around her neck, but she felt more fear than she inspired at that moment. The creepy, sneaky-girl was more frightening.
Nyx responded as though there hadn't been a gun pointing at her head. "So what's up? You summoned me here and all." When she stretched the fire light that lit the cave flickered oddly across her heavily tattooed arms. Red tribal tattoos. Like blood spells.
((Wow, I made her even scarier than I intended. not bad.))
"You must be Nyx," Charlie said, placing her gun back in the holster strapped to her hip. She knelt and began picking up the shards of ceramic that lay in a pool of lukewarm coffee at her feet. "Your description is posted all over Caamisen territory. You're wanted for murder, crimes against humanity, and causing general mayhem."
Charlie stood and walked to the garbage can to toss away her favorite mug, although she did so with some regret. "I'm trying to give the Grays a semblance of organization, and a hell of a lot of warning," she explained. She dropped down to one knee and began mopping up the coffee. "I need to inform the Caamisen Grays about something, and I'm attempting to set up a better system than modified morse code for us to communicate with."
Nyx raised her eyebrows. "General mayhem and crimes against humanity, eh? That's rich." She scoffed. "I only attack Caamisens who are up to no good, and unfortunately for them, that's often." She shrugged. "Not that I don't work the same way with Misaines. Justice is justice."
She folded her arms across one knee and rested her chin on them. "What if we used something so simple and primitive that an outsider wouldn't be able to figure it out?"
"Yeah," Charlie snorted, pouring herself another mug of coffee. "We've been wondering who the vigilante was. My regiment is on a manhunt for you, but we have no muckin' clue who y'all are, so we can't rightly go after you, can we?" Charlie hopped up on the table and crossed her legs. She drained her mug and set it aside. "How rude of me," she said primly. "Can I get y'all anything? Coffee? Tea? Swift kick in the a**?"
She actually had to laugh. "Simplicity? Ha!" she snorted. "I tried that the first time 'round, but most of these soldiers barely have a third grade education, let alone have the brains to understand subtlety. Any other ideas, though? I'm at a complete loss."
It was true. Charlie had exhausted herself trying to hide the Grays' existance from the Generals, and play the Commanding Officer role in her own regiment.
Nyx grinned roguishly at Charlie's irritated comment. "No thanks, I'm on a diet: No getting knocked around for me. I'll get myself some water later." Then she became more serious as she contemplated the code situation. "True, and morse code is very popular among third graders. and I suppose that the classic, message tied to an arrow is no good either?" She chuckled. "Maybe one of those codes where you write numbers for page, paragraph, and word from a book."
