Mangoberry lay alone in the Warrior's den he wondered where is sister was. He felt very sad when his twin wasn't around. His tail flicked slightly showing he wasn't his happy self. He watched the entrance wondering if anyone had noticed him gone from the rest of the clan. Maybe Fernpelt would come and yet Mangoberry was doubtful she had been gone a lot as well. What was with her she had seemed so distant why didn't she pay as much attention to him as she used too. Did Fernpelt not like him anymore?

Fernpelt walked slowy back into camp. She walked slowly to the Warriors den for some napping when she noticed Manogberry there. "Good morning Mangoberry. How did you sleep." She tried to seem cheerful but it wasn't working thoughts were racing in her mind about Fireheart.

Mangoberry raised his head and his tail stopped twitching it the irritable pattern it had held. His smile beamed up at Fernpelt through the darkness of the den. Though it faded slightly she seemed preoccupied with other thoughts, but at least she wasn't so distant that she didn't great him so that was a good things right?
"Alright I suppose you know I don't sleep well without my sister. What's got your fur in a ruffle, Fernpelt?"
Mangoberry stood and touched his nose to her's while purring, trying to let her know he was here rather she wanted him or not.

Fernpelt looked up at him and realized that now was a good a time as any. So she mewed, "Can you keep a secret?" In her heart she knew that he would never ever tell anyone her secret but she had to be certain. She plopped down on the ground. If he knew her secret he would be the third cat to know.

Mangoberry sat in front of her and tilted his head. His paws unknowingly kneaded the ground in anticipation she was finally going to tell him what had been going on.
"You know you can trust me, Fernpelt. Honestly, you've been acting like we were as distant as a kit and warrior, not like we were apprentices together as well as den mates? I'll tell no one what is bothering you just...promise to be my old friend again." Mangoberry mewed the last part desperately looking at her with pleading eyes.

Fernpelt looked up at him with understanding eyes. "I'm not even sure if you'll want to be my friend after you hear what I have to say." She sighed. She had to tell him now that he wanted to know. Her eyes were deep pools of saddness and she couldn't bear to look up at him. "Well, you know Fireheart from ThunderClan right? I-I-I I love him." She mewed out loud. "All those times I'm not in camp at night, that's when I go out to see him. I was just so scared of telling you Mangoberry, because I don't want to lose our friendship." She looked up at him with her sad eyes.

A look of pure shock came over his face and he backed away one step from Fernpelt. He stared at his paws not sure what to say. In a way his friend was a traitor, but Mangoberry had always wondered if that was a just law, would he be a hypocrite to yell at her like he should. The seconds passed in what seemed like hours before he looked up at her with confused eyes, truth was he had had a small crush on her so this news was hard to take.
"Does he love you back?" was his simple answer rather he accepted her for what she was doing or not was left unspoken for now.

Fernpelt had expected this kind of reaction from him but she answered, "Yes he does." She didn't quite expect him to understand this.

Mangopelt looked away for a moment shuffling his paws. If he made her happy that's what was important right? He looked back at her a soft smile reaching his lips.
"Then I have no choice, but to keep silent and to cover for you if your noticed to be missing........You should have told me sooner."
Mangoberry padded to his nest and lay down he felt tired all of the sudden. He thought for a moment before lifting his head. His eyes narrowed with determination.
"I want to meet him." Mangoberry's voice was rather demanding. He wanted to know for himself if it was really love or just lust that Fireheart felt for Fernpelt. He had to know for her....no for himself or it would drive him up a tree with madness.

Fernpelt looked at him in shock. Was he sure of what he was saying. She had no choice but to trust him. So she agreed wondering what Fireheart's reaction would be.
