Rosemary looked about frantically, flying back and forth between where she landed and the Den several time over the next few hours, even scouring every nook and cranny of the Den itself.

She had dropped the Amulet, the Amulet she was going to give to Clips. It could be anywhere from here to the top of the Ridgeback mountains! She'll never be able to find it, she knew. Not alone...

Rosemary now stood at the same spot Tigris had called the otherkyns so long ago, and she let out her own roar. She knew her voice wasn't powerful enough -strong as it is- to cover the distance she needed, so she sent a telepathic plea along with it, making clear her intention and helping carry the roar farther.

She needed the help of other kyn, although she had cut the roar off away from her own den as to not alarm the others. The giving of the amulet needed to be a surprise, not even Rowan knew of her intent yet.

And then everything went suddenly silent, with Rosemary hoping to see the silhouettes of winged Kyns in the air with each passing second.

What this is about

So valentines day is coming, and since we're doing a Chinese New Years Event in the Kyn Shop, I'm doing a mini Valentines day event here!

Just to save you the trouble of reading through all my role-playing stuffs, the princess of Edoc'sil, Rosemary, had fallen in love with one of the lunars of the Clan, Eclipse. In an attempt to sort out her thoughts, she took the Vibrant Red Heart Amulet that she planned to give to Eclipse and flew high up into the Ridgeback to be alone.

Along the way, she dropped it, she she's not sure exactly where. So She has called upon you and your kyn's help!

Rules
Use your common sense and have fun. I think you're all smart enough to know what's expected wink

The prize
A White Heart Amulet from the Valentines Day event last year. You can give it one of your kyns or someone else. Whoever finds the Amulet first wins this!

White heart Amulet: Given between friends or as a symbol of someone's great achievement, these ornate amulets are not something to take lightly. They are embedded with an emerald and two small rubies.

Also, there will be some item prizes scattered randomly around! The Vibrant Red Heart Amulet isn't all that you're trying to find =D

Items to find:

Labu Necklace
Box of Heart Chocolates
Heart of Gold
Red heart Face Tattoo
Long Stemmed Red Rose
White Rose Band

Item found:

Draconis)Wyrm

How to Play

Along the Ridgeback, there is a total of about 6 segments that you can search in. But because each area is so big, there's still only a small chance you'll find it!

To start, everyone picks an area -more then one person can pick the same one- and you'll roll a six-sided die. If you pick the right area and roll the right number, then you'll find the amulet!

You may choose to add a role-play post to these dice rolls, but it is not necessary (although it is encouraged, and will help you in the case of a tie). Also, put the Area you are searching in Bold at the top left corner of your post so I can be certain which area you were trying for 3nodding

Only Cherry knows exactly which area the Vibrant red Heart Amulet is hidden in, and which corresponding number will allow you to find it! To make things a bit more challenging and perhaps longer, The Amulet's location will change once per day! It might just change a number or to a whole new area. Cherry will post through role-play about the change, and it might give you a clue- or it might not.

Now, even if you post before Cherry's little post about the amulet changing locations that day, that try will still only win if it has the new location on it. Since people live in different Time Zones and the days might be different, Cherry will count it as her own Time Zone, -5 Eastern.

Each Participant may only try once per day, good luck!

Note: In the case two people choose the same area and got the same number that happens to be the winning one, the winner will be judged on role-playing Skills by Cherry.

Update

Now that we're into February, the Amulet will stay in place. Also, I've now assigned each of the items one location, as opposed to one at a time changing every day. None of these locations will move, and the list of items are above.

Now, Cherry's put the numbers below. Bold numbers are ones that has been tried already. Italic Numbers are tried ones that unveiled an item.

Good Luck, and thank you for helping Rosemary! 3nodding

Note: This starts on February the 1st

Update

[Jessii] has found the Amulet! Rosemary won't find out about this until Valentines day, so you have until then to search out remaining items!

Jessii will also receive a Brand three Fortune Cookie! Congratz Jess!

The six areas

Area one

The base of the mountain. This area is mainly flat, the Ridgeback looming ahead. Fairly low in altitude, there is a river flowing down from the mountains, surrounded by lush forests. An ancient glacier deposited many rocks, large and small in the area. There seems to be many places a little amulet can hide here.

1-2-3-4-5-6

Area Two
We're starting to get a bit higher up now. On the side of the mountain is a great ledge sticking out of the sheer mountain face, though most people in the area knows that its the entrance to Edoc'sil.

There a small trail leading up the rocky mountain, beside the river that continues to flow lower down in the forests. This place is rocky, but still full of trees, though mostly conifers. The river cascades over rapids and sheer falls, spraying the whole area into a slippery mass. Might the amulet have gotten stuck in one of the many cracks in the rock?

1-2-3-4-5-6

Area 3
The trees are starting to get thinner, the the river starts to shrink as you go further up the mountain. You are fairly high up now, and the air's starting to take an edge of frigidity. Watch your step: the trail's starting to become less worn and more ragged. As you get to the higher parts of this area, the trees give away to grass, clinging onto the small amounts of soil available.

1-2-3-4-5-6

Area 4
Even higher up, the River you saw before is now only a small quiet stream. No trees grow here except the occasional hardy brush and its getting colder. You can see nothing but sheer rock cliffs and boulders strewn around on the thin grass. The small trail is now dangerous to navigate and the edge of a ravine might give away under your legs at any time- this area is more suited to those with wings.

1-2-3-4-5-6

Area 5
Plants? Forget about it. The cascading river before is now just a trickling little stream, with barely any water. Its getting cold- very cold, and everything's covered with fog. If you stop and think about it, this fog's the same cloud you see in the sky all the time.

The trail is almost non existent here, and rocks dominate the landscape.

1-2-3-4-5-6

Area 6
The peak of the mountains. A clearing nearby is where Rosemary stood and roared, calling for help. But other then that one flat area, everything else was rugged, not a smooth area bigger then a foot squared. Not even that much.

It was freezing here, yet the only reason it wasn't covered with snow and ice was the dryness of the area. Any water would simply evaporate before the temperature could take a hold of it.

There's a magnificent view from here, the clouds below and the sun or stars above.

The story behind this (You don't need to read it ^^)

Eclipse made his way quietly down the side of the mountain. Behind him he left Nyte, the egg he found and raised for the mission to the Island of death. It was still dark, but the Lunar's keen senses led him safely down the treacherous trails, leaving his mind free to wander.

Though he had tried to act indifferent, and uncaring, he really did like Nightmare. That naive gargoyle, that childish innocence...it wasn't the first time that Eclipse wondered if he was doing the right thing. The gargoyle was barely a month old, yet the best flier he's ever seen. Is he going to be ok?

Eclipse forced the disturbing thoughts away. He had done his part, the rest should play itself out.

As Eclipse trudged his way through the snow -and mud as he got to lower altitudes because of the spring melt- Eclipse barely noticed a large figure swoop ahead and land with barely a whisper behind him.

"Where were you?"

Eclipse nearly stumbled over his own front paws. It wasn't the voice that startled him, it wasn't because of who he knew that voice belonged too, but it way it was said. The Edoc'sil rarely speak, preferring to communicate to each other through their bond, making it easier to understand each other.

Eclipse turned around to face his princess, the red European that was turning a year old in barely a month.

Just hunting. Why? Eclipse replied calmly, watching Rosemary. He noted that she looked tense.

"Where's the gargoyle?" She growled, refusing to take Eclipse's lead and slip back to their more comfortable way of communication. Eclipse barely noticed this time though, and his thoughts whirled. How did Rosemary know of Nyte?

"I saw the egg. I smell him in the Battle Arena. Who is he?"

Eclipse shook his head helplessly. He could never explain, especially not to Rosemary. He growled instinctively, whipping around and fell into a quick trot home, not caring that Rosemary could overtake him with ease.

Rosemary watched Eclipse's retreating back, not following, just standing there on the stone, feathery wings folded neatly. Rosemary sighed, her eyes glazed over.

Almost a year leading this clan, she had grown mature, nothing like what she had been like as a hatchling. She could empathize with those of the clan -except for Oreo, who didn't trust anyone but Zephyr- and she knew Eclipse was hiding something big. Rosemary couldn't help but feel that what he's hiding isn't a good thing.

Before she even realized what she was doing, she extended both of her magnificent wings as she kicked off, gliding after the Lunar.

Eclipse had trained a lot for the Obstacle course, and wasn't a slow Lunar, but there was no possible way he could outrun a flying Eropean. Rosemary landed directly in front of Clips, forcing the blue Lunar to a skidding halt. Eclipse growled menacingly, but it diminished quickly at Rosemary's scowl.

"Tell me what's going on! Now!"

The ferocity in Rose's voice caught eclipse off guard, and he just stared at Rosemary for a moment. He then felt Rosemary forcing her way through their connection, and being unprepared, he didn't manage to put up his mental defences up in time before rosemary caught two images: Nyte and Tigris.

Rosemary's eyes narrowed.

That Lunar kyn, the Orange one. Who is that? Rosemary growled, her urgency showing in the fact she slipped back into talking with her mind.

Eclipse shook his head helplessly, he was trapped.

"Promise not to tell any of the others...please?"

Rosemary considered Eclipse for a moment, those begging eyes. Rosemary sighed, and finally nodded her head.

Eclipse visibly relaxed.

That's how it first started. That secret kept. Rosemary never had a reason to keep it, but she did anyways.

None of them knew at the time, but the two had more feelings for each other then the rest of Edoc'sil. It had been Rosemary who had named Eclipse's hatching egg, and Eclipse who had worked alongside Rosemary in building and fixing their den, being one of the most skilled spell casters in the clan.

The two had feelings for each other, but none of them acknowledged them- yet.

-----------------------------

And so, Rosemary learnt about the True kyns, about Tigris and about Eclipse's desperation to help. And soon, the Princess of Edoc'sil knew everything.

And she kept it a secret, just between them two.

Rosemary nosed the two amulets, staring at both of them in turn. One, a silvery heart with an emerald and two small rubies embedded into it. The other a Red Heart that seemed to match rosemary's scales almost perfectly.

Rowan strode into the room by then, tossing her bow onto her bed and dropped a pair of rabbits on the table. She turned to regard Rosemary though, seeing something was on the Kyn's mind.

"Hey Rose, anything wrong?" Rowan asked, dropping her pack. Rowan rarely did the hunting, but that doesn't mean she never does it.

Rosemary craned her long serpentine neck around to regard her rider.

Its almost mating season. I can feel it in my blood, instinct drives me to find a mate.

Rowan blinked away the surprise. Rosemary was only a year old after all! Rowan regarded Rosemary's eyes, filled with emotion, before finally realizing what Rose was silently asking for.

"Ye can't expect me to give you any advice! I barely even see any of the boys back in the village!" Rowan laughed, and Rosemary countered quickly, perhaps a bit too sharply.

Alan visits often.

Rowan shrugged.

"Childhood friend, nothing more."

Rosemary barely held back a laugh. Rosemary was bonded with Rowan: She knew better. But she left it at that. She turned back to regard the two Amulets, amulets that were the same age as herself. She had watched the males of Edoc'sil over the past few days, and she knew not what to do.

This was only her first year of life, perhaps she should just ignore the callings of instinct this once. There was only two males to choose from in the clan right now, and both of them she considers no higher then a level of pure friendship and clanhood.

Thats what she keeps on telling herself. But she can't deny a growing bond between herself and a certain blue lunar, that started ever since Rosemary had named his hatching egg.

---

Eclipse laid on his pile of sand, scratching one paw idly in the grains, finally realized he had drawn the basic shape of a winged kyn. growling, Eclipse swatted at the image and erased it in a heartbeat.

Perhaps he had erred in his decision to let the Gargoyle go to The island of Death.

Eclipse brooded for quite a while. He can't deny it; he had come to like Nyte as his own son. Eclipse turned around, staring at the wall blankly. Will he ever see the black Gargoyle again.

His earth magic alerted him to a figure padding outside his room, approaching. With a flick of his thought, Eclipse found the bond between himself and the princess. Rosemary was coming. Eclipse dragged himself up, and shook the sand out of his hair, sitting up straight as rosemary carefully made her way into the room that was designed for creatures much smaller then she.

Rosemary somehow managed to find a comfortable position though, and curled herself up, watching Eclipse.

Why are you here? Eclipse asked. Rosemary shrugged, and that simply movement almost brought the ceiling down upon them. Rosemary sighed, and shook her head. She had come a long way from that bratty little hatchling she had once been, and she could honestly say that she respected Eclipse- and perhaps another emotion past pure respect. A stronger emotion, one that rosemary found familiar yet alien at the same time.

It was the same emotion that reverberated through their bond whenever Rowan was around Alan. She never openly admitted it though, and had expertly hid the emotion so that the others couldn't sense it.

But breeding season was coming, and instinct was telling her to finally reveal that emotion.

Eclipse looked at his princess oddly. Rosemary was looking at him weird, but he couldn't figure out what Rose's intent is.

Never mind. I'll find you later. Suddenly announced an awkward moment later, and carefully made her way out of the small room, leaving a very confused Eclipse pondering.

-----------------------------

The Red Heart Amulet in her claws, Rosemary took off into the night sky, needing some time alone.

It had been a full week since she last saw Eclipse, and that meeting was still fresh in her memory. She had been afraid to tell Eclipse outright about her feelings, the pride that had been such a big part of her life as a hatchling taking hold of her once again. She needed some time alone and by herself, and so she made her way up the mountain, higher and higher.

She found a nice flat area, with a cliff looking down towards where she had flown from. Rosemary didn't know this was where Eclipse had last seen Nyte. Like before, she wondered if she was rushing things, that perhaps she should wait another few years. But she looked down to her claws, to where she had placed the Amulet, and couldn't deny that she did like Eclipse and-

The Amulet wasn't there.

Just outside the underground caverns, a small blue creature darted to and from in the air. It then paused, staring at the top of the hill where a small entrance was located. The butterfly-kyn then flew away as a black head appeared followed by the rest of it's colourful body.

"Come back here flo!" Papilio called out to her little friend. Her wings out-stretched to allow her to float/jump down to were her friend was. They both turned around to see their rider poke follow them out.

However she wasn't able to say anything before her heads went to her head as the message rosmary had sent verberated through her skull.. "ack!" she was more surprized then in any real pain, as she rarely used telepaythy to communicate with her own kyns.

Papilio and pip both looked up, their attention towards the direction of the call. "It sounds like someone needs our help. Common! lets go and see!"

"I'm pretty sure that was rosmary, wasn't it?" poke wondered, but then gawked as her kyn was already preparing to take off. "OY WAIT A SECOND!" poke made a dash and was barely able to grab onto her tail before the kyn had jumped into the air, followed by flo who had grabbed onto pokes own tail. They held on for dear life as papilio flew onwards.

-----

"Thats it pap!" poke called out from atop the kyns head. She had managed to get there while pap was flying. She pointed to the large moutains that reared in front of them. The kyn and her butterfly friend gazed in wonder. The moutains seemed huge after their rather flat territory.

"we're supposed to look for a small red amulet right?" papilio asked her rider.

"by the sounds of it. We'll start looking up there somewhere since we are already airborn." She pointed towards the river they could see stream had shrunk to a trickle.

Trying Area 6

Dora was out hunting for something to share with her clanmates when she heard Rosemary's message. The blue-toned gargolye looked up from the deer tracks she was examining to peer in the direction of the roar, although she knew it came from too far away for her to see. It was a call for help...no, there was a frantic edge to it; a plea for help. Something in it moved her to offer her assistance.

As Dora leaped into the air to head towards the sound, she send a telepathic message back to her bonded and clanmates. While most of her clan did not usualy make such use of the bond between them, Dora was quiet by nature and had a better nack for the silent communication. SHe was sure the others had heard Rosemary's call, and simply told her clan that she was going to help.

She sped upwards into the mountains until she saw the figure of the red European she had come to aid. She hovered near Rosemanry long enough to quietly inform the other kyn, "I've come to help you." The she turned and swooped low to the mountain below her, scouring the ground for a red glint. She reasoned that it would be best to start her search nearest where Rosemary was and work methodically outward from there.

Area one

A crashing, and then a great red and white European bounded into a small meadow. Before him lay the rest of the coniferous forests, and beyond that, the mountain to which he was drawn. He absently pawed the ground, venting his confusion and frustration. That roar. It was urgent, and most definitely a female voice. Magnus had been away so long, and the only thought on his mind was Myrrh. Was Myrrh calling to him? Was she in danger? She needed his help, certainly, and he would be there for her.

He was so intent on gazing up at the clouded mountaintop that he did not notice a human figure approach him. The girl grinned, knowing that she was practically invisible, and retreated to the treeline once more. A moment later, and she had clambered up to the top of a scaly old pine tree, and before her was her target; Maggie. Draconis leapt from the tree, and shouted with decided malevolance on her swift fall down, "WHEEEEEE!"

However, at that moment, Magnus had taken another step forward. He was too late in turning to see what the sudden noise was; if he had been a slight bit sooner in returning to his senses, he would have frantically tried to catch his Rider. As it was, she missed by a mile, hitting his tail and doing a sommersault in the air, ending with a face-first FWUMP into the ground.

"Draconis!" exclaimed the dragon in alarm. "Are you all right!?"

The Rider, exhibiting some physics-defying properties, stood up and spat dirt and several bugs from her mouth. "Pfah. Ja. Yeah. I'm all gooood."

Maggie tilted his head, then lowered it to eye-level. "Are... Are you sure?"

"Yes, yes!" The Rider looked irritated, and pushed Draco Magnus's face away from her own. Then she smiled, and glomped the reptilian visage bigger than herself. "I'm sorry I was gone so long. I really should have left a message."

Maggie chuckled. "I'm sure it was important business, I understand... otherwise, why would you leave us?"

"I wouldn't."

With the human still clinging to his snout, Maggie lifted his head and deposited her gently on his back. "So, why are you here?" he asked, once he had turned to face the mountain again.

"I could ask you the same thing," replied Draconis accusatorily. "I couldn't find you in Draconomica. Kragen looked like he was going to eat me, which was new. I actually had to ask Niuim where to find you. That wasn't pleasant."

"Niuim...?"

"You met him in OOC, but you wouldn't remember. Also, he had a different name. He has a lot of them. Um. Veigh knows him. I think Ninja does, too, if she remembers."

Maggie nodded, though he didn't quite understand what his Rider was rambling on about. He saw that she was looking at him expectantly, and they stood like that for a long while; he in confusion, she in increasing wonderment. "Oh! Right. Yes, I'm here to investigate this mountain. There was a roar..."

"The mountain roared?"

"No, I heard a roar, and it came from here."

"The mountain roared?"

Maggie chuckled and shook his head. "It was a dragon roaring. On the mountain."

"Oh. Ja. So, wait, why is the dragon roaring?"

"I don't know. I want to find out."

Draconis lowered her head in thought for a moment. She amused herself by tracing the patterns of Maggie's scales. "How did you hear a roar from Draconomica?"

"I... I wasn't in Draconomica."

"Oh?"

"I was looking for Myrrh."

The Rider smiled. "You think she's here?"

"Maybe..."

"Well, then, what are we waiting for? We should find the roarerer and figure out what all the fuss is!"

Without much further ado, the pair were airborn and skimming over the pointed forest. It felt so natural to the European to be there; he was naturally a Northern dragon and much suited to the pines and the cold. It bothered his similarly Northern Rider much more, for she had no natural defense against the freezing air, only what she put on. Soon she was wishing that she had brought something warmer the higher up they went, but could bear it.

Together, they swept up the mountain to the very top. Their intention was to find the one who had made the call, and discover the reason for it, and render any assistance that they were capable of giving. All the while, Maggie hoped that he'd be able to see his silver Myrrh again.

The Amulet has Moved!

The small amulet was hanging precariously at the edge of a rock, the smallest wind seeming as if it could dislodge the whole thing. It did stay there for quite some time though- but a strong wind finally caught it and sent it stumbling down the side of the rather large boulder, to land with a small splash in the water.

Teh Area Uno

Poor Maggie was so disappointed, that the weight of it almost crushed Draconis's heart. Luckily, it was only metaphorical, or else she would have died. Rather, the two flew down from the top of the mountain, heading northwards.

"Magnus."

"...hmm?" he replied belatedly.

"Aren't we going to look for the amulet?"

The great dragon sighed. "Oh, yes. Right," he said sullenly.

"So... let's go look for it, then!" Draconis tried to put some cheerful punch into the words, but all she earned was a bumpier ride.

"We are. We're going to start at the base, and work up." The European didn't even bother to look back, which greatly disturbed his Rider. Normally he was polite to the extreme of almost literally bending over backwards if it would better accomodate his friends and acquaintences. This change in his nature was unexpected.

"You know, maybe Myrrh's here? Maybe she heard it. The roar. She could be looking for it." But the Rider didn't want to give him false hope and lead him on with just a supposition. "And if she isn't, you can let me off, and I'll go tell Ninja where you are."

The Canadian Kyn sniffed. "I'll still have to let you off at the bottom of the mountain, then," he said.

"No, here's fine."

Before he even noticed the absence of her weight, Draconis had slid off his back and was falling to the growing pine trees below. He reacted only a little too late, but again, in time to see her... disappear. Magnus blinked. Then he swept down to the treeline to really ascertain that she had not just been hidden by the treetops and was lying in a crumpled mess somewhere. But he had seen her disappear before she reached the forest, and there was definitely no sign of her now.

The great dragon sighed and decided that how she had done that was none of his business. He had promised to find the amulet, and he would do it, with the thought that Draconis was going to bring his Myrrh back. The idea placed some extra spring into his wingbeats, and he enthusiastically began scouring the lower forests around the mountain.

Having no luck searching the highest part of the mountain, Dora moved a little farther down and continued her search. She tried to keep her search in the area that she thought Rosemary had directly flown over, since that seemed to be the most likely area for it to fall. Though she supposed outside forces, such as winds or small, inquisitive forest creatures, could have moved it farther. With that in mind, she expanded her search area slightly.

Dora flew back and forth in systematic, adjacent lines, scanning the rocks and thin stream below her. As she flew over the water, she was careful to angle herself so that her shadow fell across the water, enabling her to see through the glare on the surface of the water to examine the streambed. She scrutinized it carefully, aware the the rushing water could move the amulet if it had fallen there.

Rosemary was relieved that her call for help had been answered, but she still couldn't help but feel nervous as she carefully retraced her route, one step at a time down the side of the mountain. She walked in large circular motions, slowly descending, not letting a single square foot go uninvestigated. So while the others have scanned a larger area, she has gotten barely half of area six searched.

Rosemary had that one red amulet, and she knew of its special properties. It would allow her more eggs, but at the same time show Eclipse of her love.

She had only that one.

She watched the others searching off the in the distance and her thoughts flew back to the Den for a little moment. A White Heart Amulet she had. Given between friends or as a sign of one's great achievement... yes, she'll award whoever returns the heart amulet with the white Heart Amulet. She couldn't just ask for help without giving something in return, she reasoned.

She went back to her careful searching, sharp eyes darting to anything that remotely looked like a heart, or a necklace, or actually, anything that had a shape at all.

But somehow, she didn't notice a red object by her feet as she walked by.

(Egasp! A hint? or just something to throw you off?

Watch for these posts, Cherry will be throwing them randomly into the event from time to time!)

"do you see anything Pap?" poke asked after 5 minutes of searching at their high alittude. Papilio shook her head and flew a little lower so they could both see the mountain more clearly. At this height she let the air currents keep her airborn instead of flapping her wings and using more energy.

The Amulet has Moved!

The Amulet stayed at the bottom of the not-so-deep water, its weight barely keeping it rooted to the bottom. The small current did manage to flip it a few times, before it finally tumbled down the stream before it was finally stopped by one shallow area on the side of the water.

---

That same red object from before loosely hooked onto Rosemary's hind leg, and got dragged a bit higher up the mountain as Rose continued her circular strategy with finding the amulet. The small object was soon dislodged and sat there firmly in the rocks.
