Okay, as much as I hate the way the GTS works, what I do love about it is that you get pokemon from odd and amazing places. For example, I just got a chansey from the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (somewhere near Tunisia). I didn't even know the place existed, but they play pokemon there! heart It made me squeel like the fangirl I am.
So spoon feeding for you! What odd places have you gotten pokemon from? Is that place special to you? Is there a place you want to get pokemon from?

Yeah, I can see how a dog from Germany would be cool. 3nodding I already have all my puppies though. sweatdrop >>A Spiritomb just came in from Ostergotland Sweden. Add this to the Mismagious I got from the Swiss confederation and the haunter/gengar from the Rhone-Alpes of France and Europe is turning out to be a ghost haven. biggrin

Unusual places:
» Alaska » Hawaii » The Philippines » Afghanistan » Australia
Minus various locations in Europe and America. Though if have to take it with a grain of salt, since you could end up trading with someone like me, who has some weird-a** place listed just for the hell of it.
Because when I restart my Pearl, I'm going to list my location as Antarctica. Would've done that in Japanese Diamond, but apparently, in the Japanese versions, you can only have a location in Japan. xP

And I'm pretty sure my mismagious at least is from france. It's listed as Magireve, which is the french name. And you got one from Afghanistan? Awesome. xd

Awesome. xd GTS doesn't log the OT's location. Just the location of the other trader. So if I were to trade something form my Japanese Diamond to my English Diamond, and then trade it to you, it also would show up as from Florida, even though my Japanese Diamond has a Japanese location.

I forgot about that... But it was level one, an egg version. I can't see the guy from florida trading me a starter he just got. confused Unless of course he's like you and has 2 different versions. But even then it's still technically from florida.
And has anybody else noticed this or are a hell of a lot of Japanese trainers in Aichi? Nearly every Japanese pokemon I see is from there. A few from Hokkaiido, and some from Tokyo, but most are Aichi.

Japanese Rhydon. But I evolved it to a Rhyperior, so it doesn't have it's original name anymore.
I wish I had a Filipino Pokémon... Are there different names for the Tagalog version of Pokémon?

Are there different names for the Tagalog version of Pokémon? Tagalog version? And the fact that you have a rhyperior is awesome. I finally got a mamoswine, but I just traded in the piloswine from the Pkmn Stadium game. And my ampharos. heart I think it's funny that it lists the location as a faraway land rather than recognizing Orre. You'd think the pokemon programmers would keep their own games in mind. You know what's irritating about the GTS? The fact that half of the trainers don't list their location, so you never know where your pokemon come from. sad
