Anybody here that plays with braces? Hurts like heck (expecially with the high notes) but we shall never cease in our playing!

I don't anymore, but I did have them for quite a while.
Best thing I can say is... get used to 'em. There isn't much you can do about it except wait it out. Kinda like influenza, except more painful and way longer.
Also, there are things you can get to put on over them, but I say don't bother. They help, but at the cost of making it feel just plain weird. x.x
When you get 'em taken off, though, be prepared for an adjustment period...

I had them for a long time, and have the scars to attest. But I did technique work more than anything else, and now I have chops of steel and great, consistent technique while a lot of people who played with braces end up with screwy technique. So yeah, my advice - technique work. Oh, and wax for the top braces (didn't work for me on the bottom, couldn't get a buzz going)
