Surgeons really know what they're doing when it comes to that stuff. I highly doubt anything will happen.
:] I wish him well, though.

I hope everything goes well for you. And the rest of your family. But Grin Evilly is right. There in hardly any chance that something will go wrong. Just think how much better he will be after the opperation.

Grin is right, but it can still be stressful. Just try not to worry and think about how much better he will feel after it's over and he's all healed. I hope everything goes well. Don't worry too much, okay?

That sounds really frightening. But like the others said, surgeons have gone to school for many years to learn how to do this kind of thing and it's something they've done many times before. I'm sure your dad will get through the operation with any trouble at all. I know it's pointless to tell you not to worry, so I'll just say to try and keep positive as much as you can. smile

Well i know the surgeons have had school and lots of experience but that's not what's bothering me. Its the fact that the procedure that hes getting done is different then usual open heart surgery. Instead of cracking his chest there going to go through the ribs upward.

I'm not going to lie - I know absolutely nothing about surgery, especially open-heart surgery, but I do know that the doctors are going to do their best to help your father. If they have to choose a different method, it's because that will make the procedure the safest. I'm sure he will be alright.

I'm going to agree with Grinny, surgeons know what they're doing, that's why they went through all those years of school, right? C:
I wish your dad good luck and that everything goes smoothly and gets better. C: <33333

My grandpa's had open heart surgery. It is pretty scary. But it'll all be okay... or, it is okay. Right?

Well they rescheduled to last Wednesday and he went in. His right lung collapses so they had to stop and do it today. He went through the surgery and according to my mom hes doing fine for now. He has a lot of machinery hooked up though.
