Hizashiku lazed about the shadow a tree as the sun began to set in the distance. She had done nothing truly remarkable that day and began to hope something would happen. As the sun set further and further on the horizon the sun on her side actually seemed to grow brighter. Hizashiku hated it when this happened, but she also happened to be terrified of the dark, though she was too stubborn to show it. Kicking a rock around with her paw, Hizashiku didn't not stray far from the tree, the meadow expanding ahead of her looked quite eerie and spooky in the blood red light of the setting sun.

Bayushi was feeling many things at the moment. He had wandered from the safety of his mothers den and siblings because he was angry, and sad, and confused. His paw pads were set delicately on the damp leaves on the ground. Things has been thawing in the sun all day and everything was a little wet now in the evening. He flicked his paws a little as he walked. He hated having wet fur. He looked around nervously since this was his first night away from home and wondered what might be watching him in the darkening forest. He'd set out to find his father who'd recently left them and not return for days now. He'd never left before but now he hadn't returned. He was afraid he might never come back to him and being a boy he thought it was his duty to grow up and find his father. He gritted his teeth together when he stepped on a sharp branch of thorns. A branch that, had he been with his mother, would have been warned about before it could happen. 'Gotta keep my eyes open. Focus. Know my surroundings. You never know what's waiting. And stay away from the light.' He thought about the words his father had told him.
