Silverriver had found herself sleeping near the rivers now. Driven by sadness the she-cat had sheltered herself near the Thunderclan border. Her behaviors had gone unnoticed. Some of her clan-mates had tried giving her something to eat, but Silverriver had refused and just watched the water lap at her paws. It was strange, weeping over a Shadowclan cat. The only reason she had because the small kit had reminded her of her old mate, who had been a Shadowclan cat.
He had been killed while trying to save his clan-mates from a rat attack. The news had carried to every clan. And yet no one seemed to noticed Silverriver, who had mourned his death more then any others.

Even though Feathersong knew it was useless he ran out of camp undetected searching for the Silverriver he didn't care if she would reject him but he ran onward determination rising with every step he took. Until he stopped at a dead end he couldn't pick up the scent of the she-cat. Until finally he ran over near the river knowing it was Silverriver's favorite place to be. He searched around there for a while until he smelt the familiar scent of her. So at last he found he huddled in a shelter. "Silverriver," he mewed softly, "Why aren't you back at camp?" He knew that no matter how much affection he showed her she would just turn it away. He was trying to show her that he truely cared for her. So he took a few steps further and curled up beside her, and gently licked her ears.

Silverriver was surprised at Feathersong's strange behavior, and wished to back up. Though something was whispering to her, telling her to stay with him. Gingerly she stayed calm and looked at up. Her surprise had vanished as quickly as it had come, and the she-cat slowly seemed to scoot up against him. "All that chaos that's been going on..." She started slowly, mewing quietly on for him to hear, "I don't want to be involved." Silverriver finished. She looked down at the ground and sighed.

Feathersong looked at Silverriver and mewed, "We don't have to get involved." He mewed softly in her ear. "If you wanted I could stay with you here and not go back to our camp." Then he realized that the she-cat had not eaten for a while, "Just a second," he mewed as he back away from her. He went over to the river and waited silently for a fish when he saw the silver flash of a fish he quickly swooped down his paw and caught it. "Here," he mewed, "You should eat it, it'll be good for you."

Silverriver looked at the fish and knew that she would have to. Refusing would just make her stomach growl worser. So Silverriver bent down and ate the fish, savoring every taste that was brought from it. Suddenly, out of no surprise, Silverriver looked back at Feathersong and smiled. "How do you feel?" Her meow was only filled with curiosity for how he felt towards her. Sometimes Silverriver had seen Feathersong gazing at her longingly, and she was sometimes doing the same.

Feathersong was glad Silverriver ws enjoying her meal when he heard what she said, "How do I feel about you?" He asked. "Well I feel that I want to spend the rest of my life with you even when we join StarClan someday." He mewed he knew deep inside that that was the truth and he wondered if she felt that way about him.

And patience was the key... Silverriver thought to hersel. How long had he been waiting for her? Waiting for her to finally accept him? Suddenly guilt shrouded her, she had been to busy with her old mate to even notice him watching her. "And I the same." Silverriver meowed gently, her icy eyes staring into his.

"I hoped in my dreams that you would say that." Feathersong mewed. "What do you say we go back to camp? On our way there we can take a stroll around our territory." Nightfall was coming and Feathersong knew it, they would have to go back soon. He gave her ear a soft lick and was content listening to her steady purr.

"Sure." Silverriver replied, purring. Standing up she looked around slightly dazed. Even from where she stood the forest in Riverclan seemed unfamilier. Silverriver realized how long she hadn't wandered around. It felt like she was an apprentice for the first time. Learning everything all over again.

Feathersong purred and ran on ahead and saw Silverriver bounding beside him. He led her the long way to camp until they stopped close to camp. "I think I smell a fox." He mewed worridly. As he began to walk more slowly with Silverriver by his side he saw the fox in his mind.

"Don't worry." She reassured him, licking his flank affictionatily. "That fox was driven out, along time ago." Though, she wasn't still sure. Silverriver hadn't been in the patrol who had taken the creature out. But she didn't hear any noises, and no sounds from the den. That fox couldn't have come back. Silverriver smiled uncertainly and padded further through the forest, back to camp.

Feathersong relaxed at the concept that the fox was gone, although he was sure he had smelt one. He wished he had been on patrol when they found the fox, he would have ripped it to shreads. "Well, lets get some rest in our dens, it's really late right now."

The She-cat nodded, eyeing the warriors' den. "Yeah..." She mewed. Padding delicately over to the large set of dens, Silverriver settled down in a soft patch of moss. Where she used to sleep, anyways.
