I was cruisin' around on Wikipedia (which can be trusted on non-controversial things) and I was looking at some of the character information stuff for our beloved Eureka seveN and at the end of Eureka's it said this. Wikipedia article A year later, in the last episode, the Thurston family register lists her and the three kids as the wife and children of Renton Thurston. As their names were changed, this implies Eureka and Renton were married and are off seeing the world, while the children and Axel eagerly await their return. Dude!! They might not have disappeared at all!! They just went off for a vacation! biggrin That would totally tie off any loose ends we had been thinking about such as what happened to them after they fell back to earth. And I think it's just so darned cute that they got married and adopted the kids! whee And after saving the world, they totally deserve a vacation. razz The might of Wikipedia works it's magic once more! XD

Or someone just screwed around and edited Wikipedia, which anyone can put anything. People mess with Wiki and make up crap all the time. Face it Eureka and Renton are evolved past bodies and are the energy of the earth.

The paper he hands Maurice and the others says something about him planning to wander around for a bit. The vacation thing was pretty much how I'd always thought of it.
And wasn't the Nirvash the one that "evolved?"
Keep in mind, anybody who writes that huge Wikipedia article on the story of Eureka Seven is a fat, drooling nerd with acne who will never let anybody mess with his work. Fanboys are like that. razz

They can't be disappeared-ed. They appear at the end, remember? Flickering lights in the forest?

Pff, skeptic. >_> razz
I still believe that they're just on vacation, and besides, the person never said that was for sure, it's just it's most likely what happened. And it makes sense, too. How else would Eureka and the kids obtain Renton's last name? Surely Axel would not have adopted Eureka because that would make Renton and Eureka related (even if it is not by blood) and he probably wouldn't have adopted the kids himself since they're already Eureka's. It's the most plausible explanation for what happened to them.
Hey, Soren. How'd you know what the note said? It was all in Japanese, wasn't it? You understood some of it?

Hate to burst your bubble, but the letter isn't from Renton to the kids. It's the letter Axel sent Renton with the bill (behind the letter) for Nirvash Spec 2's board. The whole part about wandering around for a while was beause his grandfather was wanted by the military, thus he went traveling to go into hidding.
Now Eureka's last name being Thurston is a simple thing to handle. The kids were adopted by Renton into the Thurston family (Since Renton didn't right the papers it was either Holland or Axel, but from the way Axel looks at the paper it must have been Holland) and on the papers if you look Eureka is also adopted in, but she is listed as the kids mother. So technically she's married to Renton but as far as the couple knows, they aren't. >.> now that is confusing...
You should also know that they aren't on vacation from episode 50. You see them falling back to earth, but then it skips ahead to one year and you can tell by how the kids act, and Axel that Renton still hasn't come back with Eureka. But at the end of the episode you see the blinking light, and then the two of them standing in the forest together.

... I hate you. Why must you ruin things for me? T__T
Haha, kidding. It is for the truth, that is why!
I guess... thanks for straightening us out? What wiki said was an idea, really. Not proven fact.
Oh, and can someone get us a screencap of the adoption papers?
Waaaiit... how do you know for sure that was written by Axel? Where's the hard proof to back that up?

My proof is episode 32 and the very snap shot picture I took that you are all looking at in this thread.
I ruin things for you so that the truth my shine through. I wouldn't trust anything Wiki posts but I read it for fun anyway.
Go to the same thread that Soren got the other picture and there is one I took of the adoption papers also.

Actually, you can trust Wikipedia on certain things and those include non-controversial subjects.
But whatever.

I HAVE NEW PROOF!!! If you look at the subtitle at the bottom, you'll see. I was watching the end of episode 50 and Axel was talking to Maurice and he said this. He was saying how everyone had left this town, but Renton was the only one who came back. Now it just may be me, but is sure sounds to me like Renton and Eureka did return. And since we know that they are elsewhere, I would have to say it also shows they're on vacation by the timeskip. And you know, `Renton... a LOT can happen in one year. razz And in the family register, it lists Eureka and Renton as mother and father respectively, so that means they probably did get married. Just felt like adding that. razz
