What kind of foods do you like to eat? Anything that you consider to be specifically Lolita?

Lately I've been consuming an awful lot of tea and English muffins. My English friend even convinced me to try Marmite, but they didn't convince me to like it... o_O

Personally, I like very bitter sweet things, which is why i love tea. Without the sugar it has that awsome bitter, strong taste and with the sugar it makes life sweeter.
The mix is just right.
I actually have a group of friends that I hangout with that just talk about tea XD

What I love to do, is get wheat bread lightly toast it with butter then once toasted, add raspberry jam.

Also, salads are a good way to go. Im obsessed with salads and its all i eat now at school. (i went from a size 3 to 2 XDDD)

also, fruit tarts, my favorite. For my 18th birthday, my mom got me this huge fruittart cake and it was a dream come true. Last year, for my 19th birthday, she got me this strange mango and strawberry cake that was decorated very beautifully. If i only had a loli dress to match the cake ^^lll

My mom loves to decorate her food and she does have a sweet tooth for anything cute culinary wise so with her finding cute things to eat is always a fun adventure.

Ha ha ha i always run off topic XD

I always think of lolitas as vegetarian.

Well, I'm vegan...

But then I remember a bunch of the Lolis on the Official Lolita Thread (one of the official threads, anyway) discussing their favorite kinds of meats.

Lolita is all about luxury and pleasure for me. I associate good meat, good alcohol, sweet, heavy desserts with those two. I'd much rather eat a thick, tender steak with a wine and a super rich dessert afterwards than salad, cucumber sandwiches and little cream tarts like so many tea parties.

Oh. And chocolate port and cheesecake. Gawd. Sinfully delicious.

I like the concept of Lolita as something self-indulgent. People could use a little more self-indulgence.

...Though now you've made me hungry for cucumber sandwiches of all things...

To me, lolita is about class, elegance, and refinement. It is also about gentle beauty. I certainly cannot associate alcohol or meat with any of those things.

Sailor, have you tried Neutella? It's a delightful hazelnut spread, and it's delicious on English muffins. I do not think it is vegan, though. : [

Well I agree with the alcohol only to an extent. A lot of wonderful dishes are made with alcohol as a flavor enhancement.

It doesnt make anyone drunk and its really good, but I can see what you mean about the alcohol ^^- It can be very bad at times.

To me its how you eat the dish, right? I mean you can eat a piece of cake from a plate or form a napkin. It all depends on the person in the end right ^^-

I eat anything.

@Niimura: Meat can be a high-class dish. Just as 'elegant' and 'refined'. It depends on how it is made and what type it is. Victorians used to eat it, all royalty used to eat it.

Unless of course you're making the "class, elegance and refinement" as a way of saying it's not right because you're vegan/vegetarian.

I'm not sure if it's very Lolita, per se, but I bring a bento box along with me whenever I'll need lunch. Everything inside is, of course, super-cute. (And sometimes slightly deformed. x3)

Whispilian, that reminds me of Momoko eating her sweet things in Shimotsuma Story. heart

I used to eat it when I was a kind but I never thought to check and see if it's vegan or not.

Some surprising things are, like Oreos.

I got my bentobox from jbox.com ^u^
they're all sold out of the gothic lolita ones last I checked (which is what I have, along with the matchign bag) but I think the Briliant Lolita one is still there

I'm a pescotarian, but I LOVE MEAT!!!!!! I just wanted to see how long I could stay pescotarian X3
steak is gooooood, but I don't really think it's 'lolita' either
some meat could be... like... shark fin soup? XD well it was a delicacy in China, anyway
maybe whatever royalty used to eat in Victorian/Edwardian/Roccoco/whatever other infulences times? I think some kinds of alcohol could be lolita... maybe more grown-up lolita (like classical or EGL or EGA) but not anything like cheap beer (eeeeew)
