I'm sure I'm not the only one around who likes pretty cakes, and other less sweet treats, so I was wondering if people wanted to share their favourite Lolita recipies.

Things like special tea blends, cookies, cakes, and sandwitches...etc.

The GL Bibles always have such pretty looking food, and the variety of it amazes me. Sometimes I'm not sure what I'm looking at anymore, it's so pretty.

Anyways, if you have tips for presentation, decoration, or just cooking in general, here would be the place for it.

P.S.
I don't think there's another thread like this, but if there is, let me know. Thanks!

Well, this isn't really a recipe, but there are some lolita-able bundt cake pans at NordicWare. They're pricey, but very pretty, and simple to use too.

I espeically like the Cathedral pan and Mini Rose pan. This pan is also very nice.

There's more on their webpage, but I'm sure you can find them. :]

Those rose pans are gorgeous! Now I have more cooking supplies to buy. Whee!

Any suggestions on the type of cake to cook in them? I was thinking something fruity, but not too sweet.

Edit:
Wow! They have a lot of different rose and heart pans. I really wish my dorm had a kitchen.

Your dorm doesn't have a kitchen? I'd DIE without my kitchen ;o;

Anyway, I think anything nice and simple would work. Bundt cakes are really versitle. I was thinking of something like apple cake [or without the apples, but apples are good, so...] and maybe sprinkle a little colored sugar on top to add some pink to those roses, yes? :]

In my dormroom, my roommate has a toaster oven that we can bake cookies in, so that's about as close to a kitchen I have.

However, if you plan in advance, there are some kitchens on campus that can be reserved, and, since I'm a music minor, I can use the kitchenette in the music building. It has an oven, a fridge, etc...

There's also the religious building that has a kitchen that all students may use.

I think I'm going to make some jello, though, because I have the boxes in my closet/pantry, and I have a hot pot to boil water. I <3 layered jello, and jello cut into shapes. ^_^

Oh, another favourite, and easy recipie I like is frango mints. I can post the link, I just have to go study for a test at the moment.

Oooh jello is fun :3 I used to have this chocolate making kit that had really elegant molds, but then it got used one too many times and cracked. But before that, I used to make jello in it because it tasted better XD;

I love chocolate molds! They are so cute! I used to make filled chocolates. If you use the Joy of Cooking cookbook, there are tons of great sweets recipies. Sure, they take a lot of work for most of them, but they are SO worth it. Whenever my best friend and I have parties, we spend the day before the party cooking and stuff, and then we eat all the sweets we've made. It's really fun.

What drinks besides tea do you suggest? Our favourite is Shirley Temples.

Ooooh. I haven't cooked in a long time, but the chocolate kit I got was sooo cheap they tasted awful. XD;; But I'm sure I could look some up at Joy of Cooking, inbetween APs and homework assignments ^^'

As for drinks, I adore green tea, but besides that... I found this one recipe for faux wine + champaigne (sp?) once that tasted pretty good. I don't know if that would make a nice loli drink, but it was fun to make [I was like 9 so I felt older].

Well, I'm sure Lolitas can drink wine, if it's in a dinner setting. (and you're of age rolleyes I'm not promoting underage drinking here...)

I loooove cooking. I have so many recipies written in random places. Sketchbooks, notebooks, inside of book covers... heh.

When my friends come over and we want something sweet and simple to make, we make candy nests. They can be very beautiful and delicate if you do them right, and look very pretty ontop of cakes.

Its pretty much just this recipe, except when heating the syrup, only heat it to about soft crack stage (which is about 270 to 290 degrees farenheit).

Then, instead of making lollipops, we drip the syrup into a cup of room temp water. The just wait a few minutes until the sugar has hardened. It makes pretty threads, and if you get a hang of it, you can twist it and swirl it to make rough shapes, like stars or circles.

Sometimes you have to be careful when eating them though, because sometimes the broken threads are sharp.

Now I want to make some right now. lol.

I'd sugest maby making chockolath-mousse, and make it in something like the rose-pan thingy, or another cute design... And when it's cooled down, you just flip it on a plate and add some whipped cream or something to pretty it up.

Ooh I adore the recipes in the G&LB. I've only done those chocolate corsets in Vol.4... I really enjoyed doing those and they were simply scrumptious afterwards, but I found the chocolate coating process very difficult. I couldn't figure out a way to apply the chocolate evenly, so that turned out to be a bit of a problem. Also, it took me a very long time to find the "argent" (those little silver coloured edible balls), and I had to buy a pound's worth at a bakery supply store. I made them for my boyfriend and he enjoyed them very much (as he should, since it took me over three hours to make!) I hope to eventually try every recipe, but they all take so much time and it's a pain to buy all the ingredients.

Thought lolis look cute with cake frosting on their little faces or nibbling a giant cookie, I think you'll really want to put a healthy, essential diet into account to maintain your lovely figure and stay healthy. heart

Not saying any of you neglect on that.
