And Then Came the Rains..
Trying my hand at starting an RP in our wonderful (yet new) Charpia forum~ *shifts eyes* It'll be open to anyone who wants to join. Only a few rules: heart ............
.....1. Post in past tense. xd ie, he/she went/walked/said.
.....2. Nu controling other people's Charpia. X3
.....3. Post sizes don't matter -too- much, but make your post at least a few sentences/a small paragraph.
.....4. If your Charpia thinks something to itself, have it be in italics. If it is talking to another Charpia, have .....it be in italics and quotes. (Seeing as they most likely would be able to communicate with one another, .....but not in a language that humans would understand. (This is my guess at least. X3))
.....5. When posting for the first time, include a piccu of the Charpia you'll be RPing with to give peoples .....an idea of what it looks like, etc. You can add a little background information if you want, like I do below.
............ * * *
Name: Orchid

A small Charpia was making its way through the dunes of a beach, following a path only known to herself. She walked alone across the cool white sand, as pearly moonlight shone down around her. Orchid had taken this path many times before. She knew every cove and every inlet on this corner of the island. It was tucked away from the more populated areas, and for years remained her special place. Tonight it was noticeably still, quiet. A fine breeze brushed the trees along the coast, bringing with it the smell of the uneasy surf.
Thunder rolled heavily in the distance. Orchid jumped atop of a smoothed rock and settled down on it, watching the clouds billow on the horizon. Slowly they curled around the edges of the moon, making the light on the shore flicker and glow. The waters tumbled hither and thither, shimmering and swirling through the gulfs. The Charpia flicked her tail calmly, watching the surface of the ocean carefully. After a moment she stood again, waited, and then plunged into the cool waters.
She swam about slowly, stroking the underwater sand with her paw. Only a little moonlight still shone, faintly glowing on the overturned pebbles. Her eyes glimmered as she brushed against something, and a moment later she was back on shore. Orchid shook the water from her fur and returned to sitting on her rock. She slipped her paw under the rim of her hat, and pulled out a small drawstring pouch. Carefully tugging it open, she dropped something inside before reclosing it.
Another roll of thunder sounded.

name: Splash (he's a water element charpia) Likes: water of all types and most things wet!, adventuring, and making new friends Types in skyblue text. (bolded so you can see it better) In that very same storm, another charpia scampered through the wet along the shoreline. Its name was Splash and it was named so, with good reason. As a baby, its pouch had been washed up onto shore with the crashing of a huge wave. Even its hat looked like water itself.
Water flew in every direction as Splash was very careful not to miss a puddle, no matter the size. Squeeks and gurgles of delight were heard as it wandered its way through the wet and muck. Little snuffles of effort could be heard as it bounded along followed by more splashing and water flying, and in the background was the noise of the storm. Never mind any thunder or lightning that might be going on. Splash was happy, He was in his element and having the time of his life.

Orchid stretched out and yawned, letting her tail sway back and forth with the wind. Everything seemed so very peaceful. But a second later she stilled, scanning the beach around her. A sudden noise had caught her attention and she became quite uneasy because of it. It echoed out again a few more times, steadily growing closer. Although Charpia were quite social with one another, Orchid was a rather timid individual. She always felt awkward around others and therein attempted to spend most of her time exploring the island alone. But now, it appeared she had company.
From behind some of the rocks scattered along the beach, a young Charpia hopped out. Orchid realized from the sounds earlier that it was looking for puddles to play in. She quickly slipped her small pouch back up under her hat and slid off of her rock, unsure of how to react to the sudden traveler. She waited to see if the Charpia noticed her.

You must be mad...Splash found another puddle and jumped in. gloop! The puddle turned out to be a bit more mud/ocean silt than water, but he didn't care. The rain would clean the mess right off anyhow. Squeeking with delight, he splashed the puddle with a fore paw and rolled over on his back. Momentarily covered in muck, he suddenly sensed something and sat up. Sandy brown drips slowly oozed off his hat with a quiet pad-plop sound. Someone was nearby! He cocked an ear, his head turning this way and that until he found the stranger. Relief and joy filled his heart, it wasn't potential danger after all, it was another charpia! He squeeked and growled with delight at the prospect of someone who might jump in puddles with him. Half dripping muck, half rinsed clean, Splash bounded out of his "puddle" to playfully pounce this unfamillar charpia that he assumed would be his new friend. ...or you wouldn't have come here.

(Holy crap I've been away from this for FAR too long. xd My apologies, Vel. gonk )
Orchid backed up a step as the new charpia bounded towards her. Accidentally faltering, she tripped backwards onto her bum. Ooof! Erm... Hi? She glanced up at the happy beach-goer, surprised to see someone else here in this weather. You know there's a storm coming, yes?

Splash shakes the remaining silt off his back as droplets of rain and muck go flying. A huge grin works its way across his face and he squeeks with delight.
You think so?? That would be fun! Come on, lets jump in puddles together!
He is about to bound into another puddle when he catches the look on his new friend's face and wonders if she is enjoying this the way he was.
Um... you do want to, don't you?

Orchid stood still for a moment and tilted her head. She hadn't ever met another Charpia so keen on this sort of weather. Most of her friends would shiver at the thought of being out in the cold wet rain, preferring their cozy blankets and warm nests to the wet fur and muddied paws. But this Charpia seemed to be enjoying every bit of it.
Realizing how silly she probably looked, she shook her head with a sheepish smile. "Uuuuh, sorry about that. I was just surprised to see someone else here. But you're right! That would be fun." Carefully adjusting her hat again, she began after the other Charpia, splashing into a few puddles herself. It was strange having company, but it was nice. It seemed to bring a little warmth to the cool misty breeze around them. "My name's Orchid. What's yours?"

Well, actually it's um... Splash! He tilts his head with a sheepish grin. I supposed I've been destined to like water! Tsukiko found my bag at Charpia Cove, washed up onto shore by a huge wave. She not only named me, she's taken care of me ever since.

Aaaah. I never thought there were Charpia in the waves. At least, not when they're still in their pouches. She laughed and looked towards the sea. The ocean foam came up and washed around their paws and tickled their bellies as the waves rolled by.
Rain could be heard in the distance, softly dropping into the ocean. Slowly it grew closer and closer, until finally large droplets began pattering the sand around the two Charpia. "Yaaaaay! The rain found its way here!"

*swash laughs, his charpia chirp of a laugh sounds at once boyish and impish.*
I"m a mystery! Tsukiko didn't expect to find me in the water either! Wheee rain!! There must be some sort of trouble we can get into with a possible storm here.
*He jumps and dances in the rain, laughing more.*
