I'm looking for advice on any good books that I can read? I currently have none to read and I don't really know where to start looking when I go to my local library..so does anyone have any suggestions?
Here's my favourite authors, to help you make a suggestion.
Terry Pratchett
Anne Rice
James McGee
Tom Holt
Simon R Green
Laurell K Hamilton (I liked her Anita Blake books until about book 7, when there was too much sex and too much logic involved, so I gave up on them)
I like reading dark fantasy books, but not the ordinary fantasy ones, like Lord of the Rings etc..I like the more gothic type ones, although I do like the comical fantasy novels, like Terry Pratchett's.
I also really like historical murder mysteries, but I don't like modern crime stories. I also like historical thrillers, like Dan Brown's or James McGee, but I'm sick of the amount of Da Vinci Code look-a-likes that are really boring. I love the idea of the Da Vinci Code..finding treasures and secrets but there are so many out there that are all the same.
Can anyone help me???

Have you tried Those Who Hunt the Night and Traveling with the Dead by Barbara Hambly? She's also written humorous fantasy, though lately she's been doing historical fiction (I also recommend her Free Man of Color mystery series).
