Paranoia Agent: (18+) This has to be at the top of the list. Paranormal Murder, hallucinations, porn, violence, and plenty of black comedy. Someone is running around attacking people with a bat, yet can never be caught. No one remembers anything about him, and he grows more powerful each time. Only the insane and psychotic seem to have a clue what's going on.

Gantz: (18+) Too much hentai, but lots of senseless violence and "loosing the game". Paranormal post-death science fiction horror, but with lots of action. Slightly guro. After death, you enter the game, and fight aliens. You die in the game, you die for real.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni: (18+) Definitely some of the best. Mindless child violence, time-loops, parallel universes, psychosis, torture, drugs, aliens, parasites, etc. It's missing nothing. 5-8 friends become paranoid and all end up dead... then it happens again... and again... Have you eaten dinner yet?

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai: (16+) Second series. More paranormal investigation, less thrill. Still good. What force is causing these time loops, and can anyone actually survive a single loop?

Ergo Proxy: (16+) Think Underworld with androids versus mutants, in a cyberpunk dystopia.

Texhnolyze: (18+) ******** up horror scifi. It bored me, but cool music and visuals. In the underground city of lux, everyone fights wars over their robotic limbs? There's not enough dialog to make out the full story.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: (13+) ******** up s**t, giant robots, no one understands it past the 23rd episode. Angels are attacking, and only tweenagers can pilot the giant robots to save the planet. Add in a bunch of Schrodinger bullshit, and you've got a classic.

BoogiePop Phantom: Haven't seen this one either.

Serial Experiments Lain: (13+) Computer horror story. Hackers, virtual reality, internet spirituality, and conspiracy theories. Good s**t. Lain becomes slowly detached from the real world after investigating her friend's suicide, after receiving an email from the deceased.

Hellsing: (18+) Vampires, ghouls, and senseless slaughter. You'll s**t bri/x/. An agency employs vampires to hunt other vampires. Simple enough.

Death Note: (13+) Psychological thriller, murder mystery. Slightly emo, but still worth watching. Light finds a death-note, and uses it to kill criminals. Unfortunately, a supergenius is discovering commonalities in the murders. Who can kill whom first? And will the gods of death intervene? The complex betrayal plots will make you think.

Ghost Hunt: (13+) The title is descriptive enough. Good, but doesn't get scary till the labyrinth of blood chapter. Kid-friendly, so you can ******** up the whole family. A highschool girl joins a team of paranormal investigators, as they try to exorcise various haunted locations.
