Name: Echo L. Foxtrot Gender: Female Species: Mostly Human, part Kulkulkanese + Kulkulkanese + Echo is descended from the god Quetzalcoatl. The Mayan name for him was Kulkulkan, and it is from this name that his descendents call themselves. Just like Quetzalcoatl, they have a human form and their Kulkulkanese form. The more removed they are, the less aspects they inherit from this God. In Echo's case, she hasn't gotten much, just wings, feathers, and scales. Age: about 23 years old Family: Parents Profession: Travel Agent and Contract Pilot Education: High School Diploma; B.S. Aeronautical Studies and Management; M.A. Management
Appearance: + BASIC + No matter what, Echo is short. She doesn't even break 5 feet (she's 4'11")! In both forms, she is that height and with a toned body structure, though there is a childish roundish to her face. Her golden eyes are also between both forms, but they are always round like a humans - not slit like a snake. + HUMAN + Still short, in her usual form (*coughs* Human), Echo has tan skin. On her back is a full-body tattoo of Quetzalcoatl wrapped around. Her hair is cut short and is a brown-red color. Teal streaks are noticeable and defined. Echo has a kind of impish quality to her. It seems to be written in her eyes and smile most. There is no factor that one could look at and say "That's it! That's where it comes from." + KULKULKANESE + [x] [x] In this Kulkul-form, Echo is still her same height, but there are some aspects that are noticeably NOT human! She had large, fully functional feathered wings. Her wings are mostly a brown-red (matches her hair), but tint to blood-red and gold in the light. Her scales have the same qualities. Unlike the fully-formation of her wings, Echo's scales are more spuratic. She has a sprinkling of them on her face, collar bone, arms and hands, side, and back...but that's it. She also has feathers that sprout from her ears, which match her wings. It appears to be random. Also in the form, her back tattoo disappears. Other than that, everything (like eyes, hair, skintone, etc) is the same.
Personality:
Heritage: As mentioned, Echo is a descendant of Quetzalcoatl (henceforth Quetz). In Aztec myth, Quetz left the empire on a raft of reeds - sailing off to the west. They still awaited his return...but he never came back. He did sail off, and came upon the land of Gaia. There, he found himself a human wife, married her, and they had children. Well, not many children - they had two (twins to be exact). One twin was a daredevil and died in a horrible accident. He didn't have his father's powers and flew too high. Like most males, he did not believe he could be harmed and eventually succumbed to hypoxia and did not recover in time. He crash-landed to the earth and died instantly. The other twin was a bit more reserved and knew better than her brother. She grew up like anyone else, and married herself. She also had children - three boys and one girl. Those children grew and had children of their own who grew and continued the process.
As the generations learned, only the females has and carried on the Kulkulkanese traits. The males had absolutely no manifestation of scales or wings. In fact, they could not even pass that on through their own daughters. But the story never died, and the family held on posessively to their heritage, even the men. So, it was never lost WHO founded the family nor who was responsible for the crazy amount of wealth they had. However, they were still somewhat conservative - didn't flaunt their money or anything, and did their best to fit in (which wasn't too hard in Gaia).

:: Generals :: Pezzottaite, marketed under the name raspberyl or raspberry beryl, is a newly identified mineral species, first recognized by the International Mineralogical Association in September 2003. Pezzottaite is a caesium analogue of beryl, a silicate of caesium, beryllium, lithium and aluminium, with the chemical formula Cs(Be2Li)Al2Si6O18 . Named after Italian geologist and mineralogist Federico Pezzotta, pezzottaite was first thought to be either bixbite (red beryl) or a new variety of beryl ("caesium beryl"); unlike other beryls, however, pezzottaite contains lithium and crystallizes in the trigonal crystal system rather than the hexagonal system.
Colours include shades of raspberry red to orange-red and pink. Recovered from miarolitic cavities in the granitic pegmatite fields of Fianarantsoa province, southern Madagascar, the pezzottaite crystals were small—no more than about 7 cm in their widest dimension—and tabular or equant in habit, and few in number, most being heavily included with growth tubes and liquid feathers. Approximately 10 per cent of the rough material would also exhibit chatoyancy when polished. Most cut pezzottaite gems are under one carat (200 mg) in weight and rarely exceed two carats (400 mg).
With the exception of hardness (8 on Mohs scale), the physical and optical properties of pezzottaite—i.e., specific gravity 3.10 (average), refractive index 1.601 to 1.620, birefringence 0.008 to 0.011 (uniaxial negative)—are all higher than typical beryl. Pezzottiate is brittle with a conchoidal to irregular fracture, and streaks white. Like beryl, it has an imperfect to fair basal cleavage. Pleochroism is moderate, from pink-orange or purplish pink to pinkish purple. Pezzottaite's absorption spectrum, as seen by a hand-held (direct vision) spectroscope, features a band at 485–500 nm with some specimens showing additional weak lines at 465 and 477 nm and a weak band at 550 to 580 nm.
Most (if not all) of the Madagascan deposits have since been exhausted. Pezzottaite has been found in at least one other locality, Afghanistan: this material was first thought to be caesium-rich morganite (pink beryl). Like morganite and bixbite, pezzottaite is believed to owe its colour to radiation-induced colour centres involving trivalent manganese. Pezzottaite will lose its colour if heated to 450°C for two hours, but the colour can be restored with gamma irradiation.
