What if a group of christians went out and made their own website, similar to gaia, and make it less secular and more religious so that christians can gather and have fun at a website that approves of Godly things and is just as fun as gaia?!
My fam and I have been thinking about this, because my mom doesn't like the name of this place and she doesn't like the fact that it's TOO secular. Not to mention it supports some things that she doesn't find right.

I completely agree with you. I think if christians made thier own website for roleplaying it would be just as good but it would have to be thought of very carefully

Yes, definitely! I had come up with an idea.
Say that someone makes an rp there, they could base the rp story off of a Bible story or something..? Like jonah perhaps. One particular man loved by many people, he goes about preaching until finally God sends him on a quest to a city that is fated to be wiped out from the face of the earth for all their bad deeds. etc. it would be an interesting idea for rpers to rp in. not to mention there would have to be a majority reason for that site to be up. that reason could be for fun and learning about Jesus. and more!

I like the idea of a Christian version of Gaia, but a website is a big thing and I've seen quite a few of them with amazing ideas go belly up. There's advertising, buying the website/domain name, coding, graphic design, layout, and then actually running the thing. You know how hard it is to run just a guild.
Then there is the purpose of the website. Is it a Christian forum, an RP site, something in between? Is it for ministering to the lost, or a place to learn about Christ without being in any contact with secular things?
This isn't an attack, I don't want you to think of it as one. I just want to make sure you have your bases covered before running for home. You, and this idea, have my prayers.

It a great idea. But it won't happen anytime soon. It's a LOT of work to start, then you have to maintain the website. It costs alot of money. You would have to be very dedicated to the site.

There is one quite similar actually. Its www.christianforums.com. I'm a member (faithfulserenity) and its really cool. avatars aren't as neat but its very supportive.

That WOULD be a pretty cool idea... at least a Gaia with Christian MORALS. I don't know that I would LIKE a Christian THEMED Gaia. That would seem sort of sacrilegious to me, you know? I don't know. I guess that sounds old fashioned, but yeah.
But it would be nice not to have to shake my head sadly at what people seem to think is PG-13. Boy do they ever push those boundaries! EEW! Oh well. At least, I suppose, it gives us a place to be a good example of the Lord's people, eh? smile
