Greetings, my fellow agents. In a flashback to our younger days, we have once again been invited to join a UN like organization that will unite--or, at least offer the chance of interaction between--all the major guilds and factions of Gaia. Well, instead of trying to interpret it for you, here's the invite itself. LabTechMK The Iron Magus LabTechMK Greetings Tim, and hello to you. I come before you today, with an idea. An idea that would unite the guilds and factions of Gaia, without forging alliances among them. You could compare it to the UN, perhaps, but for here, in Gaia. It is my wish to gather together the leader of each Guild and Faction that I am able, along with a representative from each. (Or two representatives from each if the Leader is unable to join for whatever reason) I am not looking for a definitive answer at this time as to whether or not you wish to participate in this, but more or less if you think that this would be something that should be attempted or not. It may come to be one way or another, but I am seeking the thoughts of the many Guild and Faction leaders, such as yourself. If, however, you do believe it to be a good idea, and wish to participate actively in it, then tell me so as well, and we may quicken the pace to create this vision. ~MK Well, that depends. What actual benefits would forming this group provide us and gaia as a whole? It is hard to say what would or would not occur until this was tried. However, It is my ambition to create an opportunity for the leaders of Gaia (Guild and Faction, not mod and Admin) To gather together in a singular place. It is a place where we could openly exchange ideas and opportunities with one another. It could be a place where factions and guilds could easily mingle with one another, possible forming alliances, though that is not the only goal nor idea of what this is to be. Much like the United Nations, it does not put everyone on the same side, but instead gives each guild and faction (however big or small) to get their voice heard, and unify as a people. For Gaia as a whole, it could very well give us the power we have always lacked to control the plot and Manga within Gaia. Far as I can figure, these things are based off of power, and user involvement, not to mention hype and other things as well. A Guild where all gathered for these causes, might be just what Gaia needs. On a less serious note, we could also use it, or the subforums there, to hold parties and things of the like for multiple factions or guilds. There are some even that don't have a guild, and this could be good for them as well. The possibilites are endless, I only seek to find those who would join me there, or at least support my ideals, and help to guide me in the proper direction. I thank you for your time Tim. I did not expect a reply so quickly. ~GCS Captain MK As he said, this is not a definite OMFG, DECIDE JOIN NOW OR NEVER kind of deal. Basically, the only question is: Does this seem like the sort of project worth supporting? Yea, or nay?

I would have to say yay. If anything happened that was not right we could just pull out. On the other hand it might pose as a prob if something happens between guilds.

Nay. I think we should just be solo and only deal with guilds that get involved with the plot. =/

Hm. My dear 'not so much' friend Virellius an Fiach, as he now calls himself, once started an idea much like this. It was grand, or so they say... the Solid State Society, they called it! heart LabTech himself was a part of it... I believe he may be borrowing ideas and should give credit where it is due. Copyrights aside, the project went well until it fell through, this was brought about by a lack of interest. However, at that time, the GIB stalwartly refused, or so the records say. This time... would be hypocrisy, yes... but it would be a good one to make. heart I fully support it! I wouldn't mind some drama, myself! blaugh

Jessica says "Yea!"
MK has a great mind, so I do not see this group going "awry" or corrupt. I think this would be beneficial for the GIB's reputation perhaps?

I say yes. Any way we can involve ourselves with other groups is a positive. Plus, we'll have something to occupy us in times of no plot.

Personally I'm against it.
Oh it sounds great, and if it truly works out as it says it is a great thing. However, inherent in this is as Quinn said so happily, "Drama". Drama is not something the GiB is interested in. I had quite enough of it during the skirmishes and had enough of it oozing all over me because I had to deal on a regular basis with people who hated each other because their pixels got crossed. While I think its a good idea to involve ourselves with other groups, something like this just seems like an opportunity for disaster.
Quinn, you also mentioned the GR. Good example of exactly what we don't want to happen. User drama leading to internal powerstruggles, leading to the attempted involvement of other groups leading to absolute chaos.
I'd like us not to fall into that kind of whirlpool if possible.
wait and see, I think.
