Since it's only a few weeks until the holidays, all the parents that are out of the times in video games are having a hard time. Have you ever helped any of these poor parents? Just the other day I helped at least 3 sets of parents who were at a lost on what there kid wanted at the video game section. sweatdrop (It took like a hour for each one, & I don't even work there!) Please, tell your story if you have one. smile

I've never been asked for help picking out video games. Maybe I look lost myself... but that's just what my face generally looks like. sweatdrop

Hm, I've never been asked to help someone pick out a video game...
Not by a complete stranger, anyway.

Now I feel left out.
I wanna help the poor parents.

I have. I was at a game crazy and this woman was trying to figure out which DDR game to buy for her kids. The sales associate wouldn't help her so I went up to her and did.

Yeah, 'cause Microsoft and Nintendo totally merged...

Seriously, there's ignorant, then there's just plain dumb...

Thats nothing.

A few years ago this parent in a second hand store brought a atari [good choice though] because its just as good as "those things kids play these days"

It was for his grandkid.

Haha,
grandparents seem to have no understanding of the gaming world whatsoever.

"Here's a nickel, go buy a video game."

Well, yeah actually. Lady bought Guitar Hero 3, completly unaware that a guitar was needed or that they came in packages of game+guitar. ...course, her kid was equally ignorant. She brought it back and said he wanted "the game you play with the guitar." rolleyes

I always feel bad for my dad, like I for my birthday and Christmas I always ask him for games. You should see his face when I say I want a certain game. He's like what the hell is that? He has no clue what it is, I have to write the name down on a piece of paper so he can remember it. What's really funny is when he goes to the store he asks the worker "Do you guys have any of these so called "Halo" games here? Poor guy, he's so lost.

i've had parents come and ask me for help... but normally i'm too distracted looking for my own games.. it normally takes me forever to do what i intended because i get distracted by new games.

I was asked for advice once and the mother got very angry.... xp
I guess it was because her kid started arguing with me over which was a better game final fantasy 7 or some nhl.. he called me dumb for likeing rpg sissy games like that... scream so I told him I was sorry I did not have the IQ of a squirrel and would not lower myself to such barbarisms
stressed
which I didn't really mean it, hockey games really are not my thing though..
